I like that he is not just being the same jazz guy on the internet. He has a character, thanks for the lesson man
Thanks Rifki 🧚♀️
Great lessons!! You have more talent in your little finger than I do in my entire body!
Bob Ross
I’m an intermediate player and have checked out a lot of RUclips content and studied jazz privately for years.., and for some reason I can’t quite articulate I think this is my new favorite channel! There is some freshness to the approach which is rejuvenating!! Love this!!
Thank you!!
Rotem you’re the man. Excellent explanations and great personality.
I've been playing guitar for more than 15 years. This moment( 5:30 ) absolutely blow my mind, I never think about it this way. Thanks
I love the easy way you teach these difficult things, and i also love how you emphasize the importance of awareness❤️🎸
🙏❤️
The cool thing is that you can play any note in any order in the scale you are playing and make it work with any of the chords in that scale.
Dude, this is a really great lesson. There is so much presented here, and in the most basic and easy to comprehend manner. Maybe not for first time beginners, but your whole "feel and hear and know" emphasis is right on.
Thank you James!!
Thank you for not starting the videos “Hey, what’s up” 👍🏻 Brilliant lesson - given me some great advice - particularly the “be aware of the actual notes, not just the pattern” 🙏🏻
Dude, you are the best at saying the like, share, subscribe, and comment. It cracks me up every time. BTW you are one of the best I have seen at RUclips teaching jazz stuff! I hope you keep making videos because just like me I think a ton of people love them. Grrrreat channel. Un abrazo mijo!
I love your sound and lessons. Bravo
This is one of the best videos on RUclips! With the knowledge I already have, I should get a lot of mileage out of it. Thanks 👍
Your so easy to learn from.. super helpful... Love listening to your class
Great lesson! Looking forward to digging in here and living out my jazzy side!
I play over fifty-years Guitar . I have buy all Jazz learning Books and see many Tutorials ,but this was the best Info Tipp,i knew it,but now i do this as the best Way to Play Melodic Lines, thank you.......
This is a great tip! Thank you!
Very helpful way of approaching the subject.
i actually turned on the notification bell thing for the first time ever, thats how much i like your videos man. Huge fan btw, greetings from istanbul
Thank you brother! 🙏
Hugs
Beautiful! You are a wizard. A lot of information in one video that one could spend a lot of time learning. It's like coming upon a diamond mine.
🙏
Just freaking love you rotem ❤
You explain things wonderfully clearly 😊
Please do more of this..wonderful lesson and tutorial from you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2021
Will do
Rotem you have the most amazing way of describing things and Im hooked on everything Rotem now so Im like hiding my phone under the bedsheets at night so my Mrs doesn't wake up at 1am because I can't get enough. Even though its difficult you make it fun and even though I still don't know what Im doing my playing is more melodic and structured thanks to you man. I'm telling everyone I know about you cos they are missing out otherwise. I have hit the notification bell and want to Thank You for giving me such joy. Next stop Patreon! Oh yes and please come to Sydney we are dying to see you bro!
Oh wow. ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much - you really explain things well!
Great information. I love it when my brain's bell claps. Thank you.
Bravissimo... lezione davvero interessante....great guitarist and great teacher
Just great great stuff thx man
Nice video, thanks!
Beautiful lesson, man! Loved the video you did with Paul Davids, as well. I've been wanting to get into playing jazz for ages now, but for someone who's theory is lacking a bit and who mostly plays by ear, most jazz lessons can be a bit intimidating. Even though your method of teaching is a bit more abstract than others, I finally understand some elements that I've been struggling with for a long time. Thank you so much and keep the content coming. I plucked subscribe, as requested ;)
🤘❤️
Great lesson. Very clear explanation. Thanks.
❤️
You are the best teacher, That is why I support you on Patreon !
Oh thank you Gilles 🙏
Merci pour ce cours très pédagogique et tous les cours que tu postes sur RUclips.
Ton jeu a beaucoup de caractère.
J'adore le morceau rustic heart.
Une bonne journée de Montpellier sud France.
Man i ve watched two of your videos. I get it all but it would take me a while to absorb all of it. Very useful and good teaching. Cheers mate!
Thank you!
You are awesome love 💖 you what you do on your Chanel. As beginner I didn't really know what type of music to play. Now with you
I KNOW THANK YOU
I SUBSCRIBED
❤️❤️❤️
Ok am a pro jazz guitarist , gave played with award winning jazzbands and worked on celebrity cruises years ago(.your buds great .unlike many other jazz tutors online, who I can't watch for long.

Do you realise, how amazing teacher are you 👀❤️
This not the most important scale in jazz but the most important lesson I saw. I'm gonna pluck that subscribe button.
Thank yoy Sir you really share knowledge, more jazzed power to you 🔥🙏🏻

Sivan ,that was kool boy I like it,a lot of soul.
So cool.
Nice one! I would also be interested in a video about your composition and songwriting methods. Would be awesome if you'd share some ideas:)
Thanks! I'll do those - great ideas :)
It's like learning a new language!
Ive been watching you since that video you did with paul davids, but tbh I prefer to wach you. you are an excelent teacher and also good looking, kinda like an elf but jazzier. keep rockin, or jazzin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You explain everything so well! It's so easy for you to cover those ideas. Amazing
Im from philippines and i love the way you teach sir❤️
Thank!!
holy shit i just had such a weird revelation when u played the little lick at around 4:20 that is the same exact sound as fly me to the moon lmao
You make it look easy
Lol
Many thanks for this nice lesson on 2 5 1
My pleasure
Thanks 💚
💚💙💚💙
14:15 super aware of key and chord
2 ways:
1. articulate each chord
💚
This is exactly the kind of lesson I need as a beginner with jazz guitar. Also very useful for melody writing.
I was wondering if learning bass would help to target chord tones because, I hear bass lines for example at 13:30 . Thank you for all your sharings. Sorry for m'y English, I'm french.
the second time you said click the like button got me.. looked like you really meant it..i did
Lol. Sorry about that
Yes
yeah!!!
🙏🙏🙏
מדהים אחי
Thanks ach
I‘m a piano player but enjoyed this very much. I wondered if the most important jazz scale be the Half Diminished (or Half-Whole) Scale to be played on th V and also on the vi.
Oh thanks!!
שיעור מצוין רותם היקר
🙏
Good lesson . Wish there was tab or notation .
do you have the score for c triads in the positions over the neck that you might wanna share? of course its better to make an effort finding theme on my own which i did but what i really would like to know is the way you finger over them.. don't want acquire any bad habits.
thanks for your teaching they are really helpful and inspiring
I have some pdf w triads in Patreon
How come for the b half diminished at 1:52 you're not playing the flatted 5th? Sorry if this is a dumb question I'm new to learning notes and what not
got me nice:)
🤘
I've tried that method before but I don't hear Wes in those lines
Don't mind me, im not a musician, just using this vid as incredibly soothing ASMR
Ghoosh, where was i all these years?
all of them?
I thought this was going to be a video about the melodic minor.
A whispering voice strengtened w a minor7th cord is the triumph of psychologic warfer to hit the like button.
Yeah boi
🤘
And old gem from Rotem
YO!
What kind of guitar is that?
Gibson Howard Roberts
@@RotemSivanGuitar Thanks. At 4.25 of the video, I've heard that "slightly jazzy sound" you demonstrate in another guitar course. It made me think it must be a pretty straight forward way to teach these concepts. Thanks again.
Just saw this video on your guitar setup. ruclips.net/video/1qhEgoMFIS0/видео.html
JYYYYYEEEEEAAAAAZZZZZ.
🤘
fyi: that's not a Cmaj7 (9) as you put it. it's a 6/9.
Sorry about that!!
Be cool if you added a transcription
I have a few now in the Patreon
b9 ftw
Pluck!
Algo
What?
@@RotemSivanGuitar it’s for the algorithm. Comments help the channel.
Is Paul Davids narrating
Lol
@@RotemSivanGuitar haha! sorry you sound just like him
Great lesson by the way
My new fav chanel , subs like n coment 😁
🙏🙏🙏❤️
It's not " pluck that like button"???( pluck means to pull. ) its " smash or hit that like button"
I mean it’s an ok lesson but definitely not for beginners, in case someone might think of it as a shortcut.
Truth
Rotem is one of the best jazz guitar teachers on the internet. But that "Yo, yo" is a bit unexpected and a bit too much.
'yo yo' really ? plonck
Lolz
not if you are Pat Metheny :)
Lol
chromatic scale ... all the options there.,, & you're only a half tone away from being right ,, hey 50 / 50 % odds.
Truth.
Its not pluck...( stop drinking moonshine during vids
Too narcistic to be able to teach.
Oh wow. Lol
