Just got back from Texas: what a place! Saw My cousin Mike Castle.. Vietnam Veteran. Purple Heart, Bronse Star. His son in law two tours Iraq. Has a great band and loves our country like me

I saw them in the 1970s, 80s, this concert, and once more at the rodeo in NRG stadium. Bought my first drum set from the original drummer of the Moving Sidewalks in 1968. currently I live down the road from Frank Beard. His kids and mine went to the same HS together.
I saw these guys at my first ever Houston Rodeo, but my last in the Astrodome. They they made it an unforgettable experience, and I'm glad to be able to hold onto that memory to this day.
Love you guys your the greatest ever since I heard Lagrange on Australia greatest hits 1969 !!! You were ahead of your time !!! Loved FRNK Beards triplet roll in the boogie .
Playing Lead,Rythem guitars, and singing at the same time for more than an hour is what makes Billey Gibbons one of The Best of the Best in the business period......
I find myself listening to Dusty, too bad I waited till I can't hear him in person to really pay him close attention. I am thankful we can see and hear these concerts up close and with clear eyes now! Blue Jean Blues !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What I like about ZZ Top,besides their Blues Rock music, is how tight and effective they are. They never added Keyboards or backup singers. They are still a hard Rocking Power Trio! Two singers and a good backbeat! Guitar 🎸 Bass and Drums and that’s it! And that’s enough! Long Live ZZTop! 🎸👏🏻😎
The only time ZZ Top played the Astrodome. I was there. Joan Jett opened.. The masses were yelling " Z Z Top! .. Z Z Top! Z Z Top!" .. First song, Joan Jett said"Take your ZZ TOP! .. Threw the mic down, and walked off the stage!!

Tough way to start the concert...Dusty's bass doesn't work until the 1:00 mark. Funny to see Billy's reaction & Dusty walking to the tech like "WTF" and grins about it!...😎😎😎...still an amazing band and talented musicians. Thanks for posting!
I like how he just stands there, like, "FIX IT NOW"! Love Dusty's live bass, it has more treble than the recordings, more 'in your face'. Reminds me of John Entwistle of The Who, heavy bass, always better live.
I still have their very first ever 45rpm record, "Salt Lick" on Scat Records, with the solid yellow label from 1969, and ever 45 after that thru 1990 with "My Head's In Mississippi", and of course every vinyl album and CD they put out. R. I. P. Dusty 🇨🇱Hill

ZZ TOO could stand there on stage and play Hank williams songs all night and the crowd would feel they got their monies worth😁...yes they are all that and a bag of chips..amazing trio 😄💜❤️
It really shows you how much they need the low end. That goes for any band! But Billy is a gent, showman, and from what I've heard a pretty good guy. They handled it professionally.

I think Billy had a little much to drink that night. He forgot he had to lipsync Sharp Dressed Man and Legs. His guitar playing was all over the place. Dusty carried the band that night. He was lead man that night.
More like the sound man in charge of the tracks he's been miming to for years forgot to turn it up for those 2 songs....so we heard what Billy really sounds like when he thinks the tape is supplying his voice! I've been saying to people for years how he NEVER sings Sharp or Legs live. People don't want to believe it. THIS show finally proves it to those idiots who can't tell his real live voice from those prerecorded vocals!
@@sarge9733 💯. The backing tracks, vocals extra guitars extra percussion etc have to be implemented to get the studio sound. People may not like it but it is what it is and i've always been entertained by them regardless. RIP Dusty
It's amazing how much better they sound now than they did in the early 2000's, listen to their 2013 Montreaux show, the sound is so much better and more powerful
Actually, they sound better because they have a ton of backing tracks piped in during that performance. Watch it again and you'll see what I mean. Everyone is different, but I prefer bona fide live.
Nope, he's standing in for Dusty Hill, doing the best that he can..., the Dusty boots are hard to fill. Give him some time to come to grips with his position in the band.
Went to one of there concerts in Nashville early 90s,, think it was T-PAC,, anyway dusty had trouble with his bass on one of the songs, and like on here they kept on playing,,, NEXT SONG CAME UP,, BILLY TOLD DUSTY TO TEAR IT UP!! then said oh fck i shouldn't have said that he DONE TORE UP ONE,,, AND DUSTY GAVE HIM A GO TO HELL LOOK!! 😂😂😂
They are excellent!! Saw them when they played on a farm in upstate NY. One of the best shows I ever saw❤❤❤❤

They are truly the Little ol band from Texas, Dusty and Frank from Big D and Billy from H-town. Thank God for these guys!
Nothing but crackiling guitar and real bass and drums. Phenominal.
Yes man, I‘m old, but I saw ZZ TOP on stage!!! 😁😁😁
