LE and Megan - thank you for all the changes you have made to the farm. What I understand is that there has been an outbreak in Texas of alpacas getting sick and succumbing to the same thing that happened to Oakie and Ernie. Please do not blame yourselves, both Oakie and Ernie got sick very fast and were taken for vet care as soon as possible. Hugs!
He might have been on the low end of the weight range because of the parasites, but you had no way of knowing that. He looked perfectly fine, even to the vets. You've done wonderful things for the health of your animals and you should be proud of yourselves. And you have already made so many changes to benefit your babies, you are doing a great job.
The kitty you are petting has come a long way!! I am praying for Ernie’s recovery. You and Megan are doing great with all the changes and I’m glad you rehomed some of the birds.😊❤️
LE, I am proud of both you and Megan for thinning out the birds and doing a thorough clean up and re-evaluation of everyone's living areas. I realize getting a covered trailer to move animals in is probably very expensive. I don't know that there is a covered trailer on the Hill. I worry so much that Lester would not be able to make more than one run with his trailer before your roads get flooded out. It would be gut wrenching to have to decide which animals to leave if that happened. Tell your dad to have a merch sale in Okie's honor and use the money to buy another trailer that can stay with you all. ❤
It's also a good idea to quarantine a new rescue ruminant while deworming them from 2 or 3 different dewormers, since some only act on a certain type. Also in the case of barber poles which is what Okie had, their jaws can collect fluid and make it swell really bad as well as under their chin if they are dangerously infected. Look up bottle jaw. Pasture rotations also help as well as trying to get feces cleaned up, but there it would be difficult.
Looks like good new measures. Please don’t blame yourselves things unfortunately happen. And for some reason it took one of our favorite babies. Cats too can hide an illness. You will never know something is wrong until it’s critical. Big hugs to you and Meg.
Thank you LE for taking measures to help prevent sickness at ISS. I truly believe that the parasite count was increased by the flooding. Taking care of animals is not easy or is there an easy way out. They depend on you . One suggestion I would make is to be careful with the new hay feeders. You have goats with horns and they can get their horns stuck. I think your Dad already had that happen. .
Hi LE, you are doing such a great job trying to make the Sanctuary as healthy and safe as possible. I know when your dad kives there he said he always had to jeep his grass cut to just so many inches to prevent perisites from getting in the grass . He mowed their pasture a lot. He also kept their pen raked clean all the time. You and Megan have been doing a great job. The animals are blessed to have you to love and care for them God bless you LE and Megan too. Okie dokie lived his best life at the Sanctuary and we will all remember him with smiles. 🙂
So sorry for your loss of Oakie. Things do happen with animals on farms and at homes. You do an excellent job of maintaining your property. No one knew about the possibility of the parasite that got Ernie and Oakie.
Good job LE and Megan. I know you’ve experienced so much loss and it doesn’t get easier. Kudos to you both for doing your best to help your animals live their best lives ever. Keep up the good work.
Very thorough and educatíonal video. Everyone grieves in their own way. You also have other animals to care for. You can't just stop and take time off. I so appreciate how you and Meg love and care for all the babies. Life is a process, not perfection. There are some things we can't change, but that doesn't stop us from always make improvements. Blessings and prayers to you and Megan. 💙💙💙
Those red hay feeders with a food tray at the bottom are so nice. Thank you for rehoming some ducks and geese. Thank you for mowing and all the care and love you both give to the animals. Your Aunt Tina might take some ducks. ❤ ❤ ❤
I watch you and your dad and jami, it sounds like it was something that you made no mistakes with, I wish I could move on like you do, I’m a bad worrier and suffer from debilitating anxiety, you are such a strong and caring man♥️ take it from a 62 year old woman who has had a lot of loss in my life, your way of dealing is so much easier then mine, much love to you all, mad respect
Thank you for sharing this video with us. No one is to blame for things out of our control. Love the changes. We know how much you & Megan loved Okie Dokie.
God bless you Megan and LE. You have both done a terrific job taking care of all the animals. Including Okie and Ernie. You should not feel guilty for something you knew nothing about. As you learn, you always make improvements. You are both awesome!!!😊♥️♥️
The sanctuary is looking really good. Please don't beat yourself up; you and Megan work so hard and love your animals. Probably had no idea that you would be farmers; it's an ongoing learning experience; your dad knows that for sure.
We have Emus where we live in Australia. We have large snow fields near us and they live in the cold here. They are very resilient birds as they live in both desert, tropics and snowfields
And now TT and PP and everyone else walk all over their area, even going up and down the steep grade to the river pastures. You do great with your animal husbandry. This is a new thing that nobody there had run into before. I am glad you jumped 8n to action as soon as you knew something was off. I am so proud of you and Megan😊
Okie dokie loss is not in vain. He is teaching alot of us about Farm life and how to protect other littles. It isnt something to be taken lightly. Thank you for helping protect the others life.
Thank you, LE, for Ernie's health update. I've never owned farm animals before, only dogs. But like any animal, when we know better, we do better. No matter how healthy you think your animals are, they can quickly go from fine to critically ill without warning. Unfortunately, they can't tell us how they feel. Just like Ernie, they can be very stoic until suddenly they can't stand or move. I think you and Meg do an amazing job with your animals. Just like everything in life, it's a learning process. Y'all are responding by making changes that will impact your animals' quality of life long-term. All the best.
Le you know when your animals love the life is when they get dirty lol angel is having a time love it sorry about oakie maybe have a tree planted in his honor I am praying hard for Ernie I love the babies hope all is well have a great week I hope your luck gets better you all have had a banger of a year so here’s love and hugs
It makes me sad to hear all of the sirens and stuff in the background of Morrow Hill videos these days. Im sure it has to be hard dealing with all of the changes. You guys are doing AMAZING work LE!!! Thank you for doing your best to keep all of the babies safe and healthy! Sending much love and big hugs to you guys!!! 🤗🥰💙
You and Megan are doing very well. You are learning more all of the time. Megan dies a fantastic job teaching us what your plans are and you are experiencing. Thank you and we love you both
L.E. we all do the best for our animals. I have 2 parrots, and they are the same way, they don't show they are sick until it's almost too late. You're doing the best you can.
Dealing with a sickness on the farm, is one of the hardest to come to a conclusion on the why & how's. Everyone does the best job possible, I bet if you ask the animals they'll tell you the same.
🤠💜love watching you and your videos LE BYOUR VOICE IS DO SOOTHING. IM SURE THE ANIMALS LOVE IT SND MAKES THEM CALM. YOU DO A GREAT JOB. KEEP IT UP 👌💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
LE. I've always believed that okie and Ernie went downhill extremely fast and I've always believed you both were not to blame. I am glad you are doing extra cleaning and mowing. I appreciate you rehoming some of the feathers. ISS had become over run with feathered animals and They can be very dirty animals. All these changes will be helpful. Thank you for your informative video. You are right, its time to move forward and learn from this tragedy.
dont be hard on your selves you did the best you could. Prey animals such as alpaca, rabbits, birds etc, are hardwired to hide illness up till the end. its tough working with so many animals takes really strong kind caring people to have a farm or sanctuary. the floods you guys had recently brought in a lot of nasty bugs and parasites some take forever to get rid of out of the ground all you can do is what your doing, keep moving forward and keep praying things will get better in time
I personally think you 2 are doing a great job.. Nobody said Farm Life was easy and we see this all the time with all Morrow videos. Animals get sick just like ppl. I'm sorry for your loss of Oakie as well 🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi LE and Megan, No one is At fault for this . Things like this happens to animals. You both take great care of the animals. Glad you got a lot of feathered gone. Glad you rehomed some of them.

I love and support all of the improvements that you guys are making to keep the babies as healthy as possible 💗 😊 And 1 thing that I mentioned to Megan on her video, I will mention to you as well - with those new hay and grain feeders - watch some of the goats with them. 1 of the Tater chips almost got his head stuck under the " V" part of the feeder. My Condolences on the passing of Okie I know you both are devastated. An I will continue to to pray for Ernie, changes to the pastures are already looking good you both are doing a wonderful job.❤

Praying ya'll don't have the hurricane that's out there. You don't need the flooding or damage with everything you have already been through ❤ Maybe put the hay feeders on the concrete of the barns and out buy the barn so you don't have to worry about them eating off the dirt if they drop some. LE thank you for your compassionate explanation and love you have for these babies. You and Megan are doing a wonderful job. So sorry for your loss of our sweet Okie. Yall are in my prayers ❤🙏
Thank You LE for sharing with us the new upkeep for the Fur and Feathered babies. Great Job. Nancy

These are all great changes! Especially that feed room disaster. There is NO doubt rodents were getting in that feed. 😊❤
Good job LE and Megan. I know you’ve experienced so much loss and it doesn’t get easier. Kudos to you both for doing your best to help your animals live their best lives ever. Keep up the good work.
Prayers for Ernie to recover 🙏 it's a farm and things happen beyond human control . Blessings 👍🫶🙏🫶

I’m glad you are doing extra for the baby’s. I’m sure Okie was an especially hard loss. Keep up the good work.
If only we could predict. All we can do is learn. Well done to you both.

the hay rakes are nice idea and mowing more but they will allways be parisites there god bless keep doing what your doing
I like thinking of keep moving forward! Good job LE and Megan!
Thank you for sharing Ernie's medical report. We are learning along with you.
Good to know and a Reminder to any Pet owner to regularly deworm - changing and alternating the pasture is a Healther practise too.👍
Lol It was funny seeing Ziggy chilling in the water. I still am amused that bird from a more desert-like environment can swim.
We have Emus where we live in Australia. We have large snow fields near us and they live in the cold here. They are very resilient birds as they live in both desert, tropics and snowfields
LE & Magen, You're doing a great job with the babies at ISS. Nancy
Thanks for your continued effort in making the best life for your babies, both feathers and fur.
Thanks for updating us Ernie has a big fan club rooting for him. It's heartbreaking when something happens to our animals 🙏

LE, thank you so much for sharing Ernie's health report with us! I really appreciate this! To help you understand the report better, in the report under "HISTORY" is information that your Dad and Jami shared with/told to the Vets about Ernie appearing healthy prior to transport. I'm so glad to see all the improvements that you are making with using the feeding stations, feed storage buckets, and re-homing so many of your geese and ducks! Glad to hear that you will be mowing frequently as well. I assume that the frequent mowing will also apply to the mini donkeys' pastures as well, so, that will be good. Also, I think your plan to do frequent famacha testing on all your babies is an excellent one! Thank you both for taking what seems to be really good proactive steps to maintaining the health and safety of your babies!

I would add as a preventive measure quarterly fecal testing prior to any deworming
Congrats on the Chiefs victory. Both my teams were whipped up bad. It’s a hard loss with Okie. You remember him but you have to keep trucking. Don’t forget to turn the lid to lock 😉. Love those hay feeders. I’m proud of you and Megan Tall are doing a great job
