I feel like people focus more on the loss of Starboy and sometimes forget that Amaya was meant to be an evil queen. I have seen people wanting me to make something for the evil duo and here it is. As for the audio, bet you didn't expect that it's from an MLP fan work lol. Speaking of which, should my rewrite animatics continue, you’ll see the music come from that work specifically. What I have mapped out for my rewrite perfectly fits with the music. As for the origin animatic, it's still a work in progress but there is no set schedule. Whatever gets uploaded next for the rewrite might be something different. My rewrite keeps changing bit by bit but the main gist of it remains. I will eventually make a very comprehensive draft of the full plot but that won't be for a while. Right now, all my focus is on making these animatics in my spare time. I've been getting the hang of making animatics so I got a more streamlined process now. I'm really obsessed with bringing the rewrite into animated form though again, I hope I don't get burned out. There is no guarantee I'll make a whole mini movie.
I didn't really see much of the video (amount of blood makes me queasy), but I definitely encourage you to continue on this for as long as you are able. You're animatics are so well done (my favorite being the "At All Costs" animatic you did), and they'd make a great mini movie! Just pace yourself and don't rush through, as that could cause burn-out easier (like a race). 😉
@@nataliapanfichi9933 I know, yet Lady Macbeth admits she couldn't kill the King herself because he reminded her of her father, showing signs of a conscience. She is still evil, no doubt, and her husband. But not a complete evil.
I love how the face of Magnifico's star-form resembles the Magic Mirror's, it's a nice Easter egg. And I cannot get over the wasted potential of having a villain couple, who you've clearly done justice too - It's sinister how sudden yet powerful their love is portrayed here, and very easy to see how these two truly bring out the worst in each other, and are gleeful about it. Amazing!
These two are so messed up and thoroughly evil in the worst possible way, despite somehow genuinely loving one another. and the way they just... throw the late king's body out the tower window with absolutely no remorse, and are completely unfazed by the mortified screams of the people below... these two have some truly sick minds. but still, # VillainPowerCouple.
Honestly only a psychotic villain couple can embrace after throwing a body out a window and hearing people scream…Disney would never be brave enough but I’m here for it😂
At first I thought she had killed her father to give the crown to Magnifico. Though in my head cannon it I Magnifico receiving some wishes in a private ceremony and carrying them across the city to deliver them into his tower. While mentally singing "It's good to be King" from the journey of Bethlam. With some parts changed like "Ladies kiss the ring. Everybody loves me!... to be the one to crush their dreams or grant them." All while we see queen Amaya watching at different points. When he is back in the castle and sings the last bit out loud she shows up and say/sings "Yes, dear but remember one thing." What? " Who MADE you king!" her eyes for one second just one give us a hint about her true nature. A little chuckle escapes as she walks away before reminding him he has another interview for a student. Because I see Magnifico being the one to make the wish and Amaya being the star he wished on. Maybe she was resentful have humans who stars use their powers to grant wishes uncaring if it brings the star closer to burning out. Maybe Amaya is thousands of years old and fell to give Magnifico a piece of her mind. But they fall in love or just agreed to a partnership when Amaya learned she could basically use the wishes as fuel to keep herself alive. Also, according to the art book Magnifico magic was to be mainly illusion base magic. So, I see Amaya doing the really big magic and letting him take the credit.
While there is no way Disney would actually show that amount of blood in one of their films, I love the imagery of Amaya and Magnifico dancing around the dead guy. It really shows how far these two will go to accomplish their goals in this retelling. Amazing work!!
@@Lady_ETHNE They could have the person restrained, until they’re ready to push him off the balcony. It would match that sweet but eerie feeling, the song is going for.
I like it because it kinds of explains why he was the only person in the kingdom with magic powers, or why he was so powerful. His magic even was similar to the kind used by the star.
I've been consuming so many wish rewrite animatics that I can't remember what I saw where, but your description read that Amaya is a narcissist. I'm just imagining the idea where Amaya puts on a good front for Asha, as narcissists do, only for her to reveal herself as the twist villain while standing alongside the classic obvious evil stepfather villian in Magnifico. Also, evil stepdad instead of evil stepmom! Love that idea. Also LOVE that Amaya and Magnifico are now essentially foils to Asha and Starboy. Amazing.
This is a beautiful and sinister piece showcasing Amaya and Magnifico's love for one another while also being utterly despicable. I also really like the idea that Amaya used the star boy's magic to turn Magnifico into an evil star. Its definitely one of the most original takes I've seen thus far. Great job!
Minor correction: Magnifico was a star himself, he was not turned into one by Starboy. It's mainly a parallel between the two, evil star vs good star. I never really liked that Magnifico was just some sorcerer. But thx for the support :)
@@saffiroI just watched the movie on Disney + and your version is much better!! He is already evil instead of a traumatized man pushed to the edge by an entitled teenager!!
@retro6294 yes, and i do apologize if i get too religious or biblical. But it would make sense from a Christian perspective if magnifico was a fallen star. Because the Bible talks about of how lucifer was cast out of heaven like a fallen star. And I did hear fallen angels are connected to fallen angels who went against God. So magnifico being an fallen angel who is married to the wicked queen with magic powers would make sense. Plus it would made the story interesting that the queen had a fallen star as a husband and king.
Ding ding ding, we have a winner! In my rewrite, before he adopted the name Magnifico, he is officially the Morning Star, a parallel to the Almighty Evening Star represented by the Blue Fairy. The Morning Star fell from Heaven and tempted a woman to fall further into evil with him. The Morning Star fell due to intense jealousy over the humans worshipping the Evening Star instead. It is meant to be biblical which makes for a juicer story. What better way to cement him as a villain than by giving him the name of one of the oldest villains humanity has lived in fear of?
@@spookykatelyn2161 I believe in God and that the Bible is true. But, yah. That is a good concept on how Magnifico became a corrupt star and was banished.
Damn she killed him… This really shows that Disney blew it big time!!! A Evil Queen!! A Villain Couple that is genuinely in love with each other like the protagonists!! Damn we were robbed!!
This makes me think about how, if Disney went with the evil couple idea, it would’ve been cool to also have their song be something like this: beautiful song contradicted by disturbing imagery and a slightly unnerving tune within the melody, creating the evil equivalent to a Disney love song. It would’ve allowed Magnifico and Amaya to be memorable by having their song stand out from other Disney villain songs by being a calming, yet creepy duet of two villains expressing their love for each other, mixed with unnerving imagery, which would make it extremely memorable as a result, although, knowing Disney nowadays, they’d see it as far too risky, ignoring the fact that their success came from them taking so many risks. Seriously, I love this animatic.
totally sharing this with dawill(the dude who sang the sombra part in the original)XD he will absolutely love thisXD you did a great job with the animatic, it was really cool seeing the song used in this wayXD
I feel like having Magnifico be the evil stepfather while Amaya is the villainous biological mother is meant as a way to flip the usual Disney trope on its head.
