Sirius XM stuck on channel, won't refresh

- I made this video to help anyone having a similar issue, even though it is not as likely. Most people who use SiriusXM radio, pay for the subscription and don't let it expire. However, my family doesn't travel outside our city as much as we would like. For me, the local stations are just fine, but traveling up north there aren't many stations that play what the family likes. During my travels on a long Journey up north, I activated the Sirius XM subscription but the radio was stuck on channel 10 and would not accept the refresh signal.
If you call SiriusXM they will recommend the same troubleshooting steps, which will not resolve your issue. If you had a subscription but then you canceled it, whatever station you were on when it was turned off it will stay on that channel. If your subscription is not active you can't change the channel but you can't refresh the radio if you can't even change the channel. It is a really dumb issue, we should be allowed the change the channel regardless if you have a Sirius XM subscription or not. So, for now, this trick I found can be used for many vehicles, you just have the find the right fuse for your car radio. Disconnect and reconnect it then tune the Sirius XM radio to the recommended channels (1, 2, 184) then send a refresh signal. You can request a refresh signal to be sent by calling Sirius XM or by logging into your account online. Hope this helps someone, thank you

THANK YOU for posting this. I've called Sirius XM to help with the problem and they said for me to bring my car back to the dealer to fix it....they're useless. I followed your instructions and bam...it worked! You saved me $$$. Thanks for taking the time to post this.
That's exactly why I did it, glad to help. Take care
Yes Thank you for posting SiriusXM told me the exact same thing I said Nah I'm checking RUclips someone has experienced this too!
You are a genius sir, saved me a ton, had the same runaround with Sirius customer support. They obviously don’t know about this. Not all heros wear capes!
All you have to do is hold the off and on audio button and hold the channel that it is stuck on at the same time this will then ask you if you want to reboot say yes and 1 minute all set. This worked on my Honda cvr touring 2021
Thanks Debbie your solution worked, was quick and easy!, less than one minute to reboot and work! Sirius XM no help, refreshed 3 times, locked out for 24 hrs. came to RUclips, read about fuse removal then I saw your post, simple and saved me a lot of time. Honda crv 2019.
THANK YOU!!! I am the opposite of tech savvy and this was so easy! 2021Honda CRV
I have a 2020 Honda CRV and I tried this solution and it worked perfectly. Reset my SiriusXM radio and it works again. Just press the On/Off radio button and push the station # that is stuck, hold for about 5 sec. then release the station button and the message to reset the radio comes up. Answer "Yes" and mine took about 20 seconds to reboot. Works again! Thank you debbiejoyce3254!
Omg, thank you a million times!!! I had the same exact issue and went through Sirius to fix it. 3 online chats and 6 phone calls later with the same instructions about changing to channel 2 or 184, refresh the signal and you'll be fine, is all Sirius would tell me!! They wouldn't listen when I said I cannot tune it. I have a Dodge Journey as well, so I'm wondering if this is common with that make/ model. Wish I'd found your video first, would have saved me SOOO much frustration!!
I know I’m late to the party, but.... today the SiriusXM in my dodge stopped working and the tune button and presets were greyed out and I couldn’t tune to the channels for a reset. I followed this video, pulled the fuse and started the car and the Sirius was back on and all my presets were in tact. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much for this video, just saved me $100. Had an appointment with the dealership basically to do the same thing. I hope no one ever goes through this same thing. I was a sad person for 2 weeks
Thanks!!! Didn't want to got to the dealer for what we thought would be a quick fix. We replaced a battery on our truck during a cold snap that started the issue of missing channels. Worked like a charm. Note that various vehicles fuse boxes may be in different locations. Ours was under the hood, did a search for the correct fuse and repeated the steps. Refreshed and back in business. Husband was ready to cancel siriusxm over this.
Thanks dude... same problem. We are about to travel and fought with SXM last night for 2-hours they obviously don’t know about this. Now I have to wait 24-hours to send a refresh apparently there is a limit to the amount you can send in a day.
Just had the same issue on my 2018 CRV. Solution worked beautifully. Many thanks!
I have a crv as well. Which fuse did you pull exactly?
Traci-Lyn Kerr I’m having the same issue with my 2018 Honda, which fuse did you pull. Help please. Thanks
You were right thanks for posting this
dodge said it was xm and xm said it was dodge. I lost a lot of time and aggravation until this video thanks
Thank you so much for this video... I was going crazy and haven't had time to take it in to see why it wasn't working... Easy fix
Just had this issue same vehicle thanks for the info!!!!!!
I can't tune mine, either. I hate my Kenwood radio. The buttons are also way too small and too sensitive. Hit a bump while you're trying to change channels and you're doomed.
Thanks for the help! Worked like a charm
Is this also what to do if it reads
" Contact Dealer"?
I have a 2015 Dodge Journey
I hope this works. I'm so pissed. And it's froze. It is next expired. So Idk what's going on . Now to find the fuses in my Mercedes. Ugh
My Volkswagen i just bought won’t change channels on Sirius Xm
Its stuck on channel 52
Car is brand new
Mine was stuck on channel 46 I did what you said now it's on channel 0 and won't let me do anything
So the radio fuse?? I'm having the issue on my 06 Charger RT, can't change the channels or volume and I'm getting no sound!
Yea try the reset. Pull fuse first, way 5 minutes, plug back in. Keep in mind this might reset your presets and settings. Good luck
SiriusXM display stuck "Loading 0%".. happened on my KIA 16' Sedona. Pulled out 15A multimedia fuse, (not blown), put back in and Wah-La! No more Loading 0%.
Thanks brother!
Hey thanks that worked great
I am having a simular issue. I drive a 07 infiniti qx56. Every now and then, my signal would keep going out. It would read, "Acquiring signal" then it would come back in. Now it is stuck on, "Acquiring signal". I bought a new antenna, but that didn't fix it. I cannot go to any channel to refresh the xm radio. I do not know what else i can do. Do you have any suggestions?
Try pulling the fuse and leave it out for a while. Or disconnect the battery and leave it for a while then reconnect and try again
I disconnected the battery. I only left it disconnected for about 3-5 minutes. Maybe i didn't leave it disconnected long enough. I haven't tried 2 pull the radio fuse yet. Should i disconnect the fuse with my infiniti on, or off? And how long should i leave the fuse out? I am trying not to take it to the dealer. I appreciate your reply.
My issue is that its changing stations on me every few seconds and its not to any of my presets.
They resting radio by pulling the fuse. If it continues, it sounds like the seek or scan button is stuck or keeps getting triggered somehow
Has any had your screen stuck on "CHECK TUNER" only and not working on XM side!
No, but you may have a bad connection between radio and antenna. I would first find the fuse for your radio, pull it out, then turn the car to on. So all electronics come on, but the radio should stay off and blank. Then turn car off, and put fuse back in. Turn you car to on and see if radio says the same thing, if it does hit me up by replying here again.
I’m having the same issue with my 2018 CRV. I don’t know which fuse to pull. Please help. Thanks
Never mind, I found the fuse and pulled it and now it WORKS! Thanks for the video man!
Looks like fuse 19 in your engine compartment, but Google "2018 Honda CRV radio fuse location".
www.google.com/amp/s/fuse-box.info/honda/honda-cr-v-2017-2018-fuses
I don't want sirius though. It used to play regular radio stations and suddenly stopped and is now stuck on sirius.
Try to pull the fuse for you radio, so it can reset. Or leave battery unplugged for extended period of time, if you have a vehicle where you can even access the battery.
How about if i have this problem with my 07 infiniti qx56? I am having this problem right now.
Try the same trick, pull the radio fuse wait a bit and try again.
I'm having the same problem, stuck on last channel used, won't change.. But my subscription isn't expired, I had maybe another couple weeks, but I paid to extend it and that's when it messed up?.. I'm gonna try this when I get home from work, thanks for posting, hope it works for me..
Yea pull your fuse, for the radio or center console to reset. Let me know if it works, and if not what car you got, year - make and - model. So I can research what fuse you need to pull
@@SerpentXTech yeah, I wasn't so lucky lol.. It was stuck on the last channel I listened to, with only the channel name displaying.. But when I pulled the fuse and put it back in, it reset to channel 184 , and won't let me do anything.. I've sent the refresh thing like 10 times, and still nothing.. It says it worked on my phone, when I do it, but it don't actually work 😂 I miss my Sirius... I literally JUST paid to extend my trial and the next day it wasn't working, go figure.. Guess I'll have to call them and hope they can help.. But I have a 2013 journey, so my fuse box was in the same place as yours, that part was easy. Any other suggestions?? Anyway, thanks again, I appreciate you taking time to try and help.
@@SerpentXTech I seriously just spend 2 hours on the phone with those foreigners smh.. Can't hear half of what they say, but we went over all kinds of signal booster, refreshing, etc.. And still nothing worked!!! When I go into Sirius setup, it says to call them to set up a plan, or something like that, they verified I'm paid until Aug, but as soon as I paid them, the next day the next time using it, it wasn't working.. Pulled the fuse twice, still no luck there. They basically said there's nothing else we can do you'll have to take it to your dealer.. Tf.. They don't have anything to do with my radio subscription.. Everybody always money, then they want more money to get what you paid for in the first place.. Ugh I'm aggravated sorry lol I hate paying for something i can't use, or worse, pay more to actually use it idk..
@@jessicam5226 I know this sounds silly, but can you try the fuse again? But this time just unplug it, turn on the car (not with engine running, just so the dash lights up) and make sure the center radio console is off. Then just turn car off, and leave fuse out for 5 minutes, plug back in and see what channel you get and if you can change it. If not, switch to FM radio to make sure you antenna is working, making sure you are not in the garage or that you have any obstructions above your car antenna. Keep me posted, I will keep looking, but if you call their support they may just send the same refresh signal. It may be worth a shot, good luck
@@jessicam5226 I just replied to you, and then saw your post. I wonder if you Antenna is going bad, but try leaving the fuse out a while. Look at my previous reply, I'll keep looking. You can also find me on Twitter check the banner of my main page, for links.
6 months later, needed to comeback lol
Thank you for the information 👋🏾 hope this works .
Good luck, let us know if it works for you!
I have a 2008 Cadillac STS is it the same?????? HELP
Should be standard for all cars find the radio fuse and pull it.
Thank you!!
Do I turn the car off or on ?
Off, pull fuse, wait a minute then plug back in and turn on car. Check radio
My screen says 0% loading and nothing happens.
Pull the fuse for your radio, wait a little then plug back in. When vehicle is off, obviously. However, if you need a pin to enter into your radio after unplugging battery or pulling the fuse, consult your owner's manual
Same issue, with my 17 CRV
21 people blew up their cars before seeing this video 🤷♂️
How do you find the xm Sirius id?
radio ID will be displayed by tuning to channel 0. If it's not, you can use the “Menu” function of your radio to display it.
@@SerpentXTech ok thanks. But I just pulled the fuse and replaced it and then refreshed but its still on channel 184 won't move.
@@takeliahendrix did you ever figure out what your problem was? I'm having the same issue as you. It seemed to work for everyone else, but no luck after pulling fuse for me.
No and the dealership wants to charge $100 just to look at it. Ugh
@@takeliahendrix Press the MENU button on your radio and select the Sirius menu. Go to Advanced settings and the Radio ID will display. Look for settings or an advanced section
Did this and now my SiriusXM won’t come up haha
My Radio Will not Load
Did you pull the fuse, and check to make sure it is not blown? What was your radio doing before? Is your LCD working, just no radio?
@@SerpentXTech If I hold the Tuner Button and the volume Button at the same time It will eventually Load and start Playing
Good info but put some clothes on!
It's hot in Florida, I'm trying to get more lady viewers. Lol J/k
