I can't do without mines, especially the phaser, the ClusterFlux and the two MF-104Z... But you need the Doepfer MCV24 to plot it all in MIDI, and you'll have a hard time finding one

@@NickB-md1oy Define 'better'. Besides, if you want a pure signal path on a limited scope board then yes, true bypass would be 'better'. Also, if you have other pedals in the chain that already have buffered bypasses then 'true' (or passive) bypass would indeed be 'better' on others - you wouldn't reasonably want the entire signal chain going through many buffers....

@@rootsradical I suppose it depends on whether you are going for a Frusciante 'live' or 'studio' type of sound. And then there is a question of what era you are going for as well... So many variables! I'm personally not a massive Frusciante nut, but I really love his style, tone, playing etc etc. He's one of the reasons I got into the Stratocaster. I'll tell you one thing though - whenever I listen to songs like Soul to Squeeze all I can hear is how overly compressed the guitar tone is. Not saying it's a bad thing.
Don't be discouraged if you don't have the money. You can acheive the same sound for half the price of a single moog pedal with Bias FX, a used Ipad and a bluetooth controler.

Is that a BOSS 'Turbo Distortion' Pedal in Orange there? That's one I use with my Strat since I was 14... So cool if I've always used the same pedal as Jon, saw them when I was 14 too, at Long Beach Arena in 1989 (they filmed it on VHS, but its never been re-released :() - Jon was amazing...

Got to love those moogerfoogers I love my large box and mini MF pedals. Best filter and phaser I’ve ever found are MF large box low pass and phaser. Love my large box ring mod too.

I had an opportunity to get a MuRF years ago and I passed on it. Boy do I regret it now. They are soooo expensive on eBay and Reverb.

He doesn't use a pedal for compression, he just turns it up so much that it compresses.
