You guys are doing just fine. You love your son and you're taking great care of him. If he's burping a lot, something is making him gassy. Either the formula or something Mommy is eating, as it passes through to him via your breast milk. All babies go through their little pimple phase. It should pass. If you get too concerned, call his doctor. A lot of women aren't able to produce sufficient breast milk. Don't be hard on yourself. You're wonderful. The formula will still keep him healthy.
He is adorable. Just the cutest little baby.
In america, we have Christenings to bless our babies. Or some other form of blessing ceremonies. Very special times. Daddy, you're holding him just fine... Just keep him comfortable.
You two are a great team and great parents. Thank you so much for sharing. Wolfie is so sweet and cute. ❤️🙂

No worries about the pimples, apparently it happens to almost every baby. It's the sebaceous glands getting bigger with the oil and then smaller and that basically causes inflammation, the baby gets it from mother's placenta. It happens around 1-2 week after the birth usually and will pass away, only that baby boys have it worse than baby girls :)
Also thank you very much, you two are so nice and watching you taking care of Wolfie and sharing with us means so much ❤️

If he's fed and makes noise, but isn't crying, it's okay if he plays on his own, while you try and get some more rest. Sometimes keeping a journal of what Maiko eats, might help to figure out what causes him to be gassy. It'll help to know what foods to stay away from, so he doesn't have stomach problems. Just an idea. It's hard when a baby has colic.

If you use formula it interrupts your breast milk, put Wolfie to your breast for every feed for a few days to get the production up. Pumping does not work until your breast feeding is fully established, and yours isn’t yet, I was part of a breast feeding advisory group and fed both my children

Good job guys. You guys are looking great as parents who had little sleep. Video quality looks great, though no one would fault you if it slips a bit for the lack of sleep and little time. No book or advice can prepare you for being a parent. Just know you guys are doing great. I remembered at your current stage enjoying the moments of my daughter recognizing me with her opened eyes and smile. Enjoy these moments and record them for your self. Then have a program that shows you the photo each year on the same day. Keep up being you. Understand mistakes will occur. No parent is perfect. It's okay to feel down now and then. Sometimes tempers will flare. It okay for both of you sometimes want to be alone. It okay to cry for no reason. It's normal to have regrets. Just remember to talk to each other about all your feelings including the not so rosy one. We all had them. I had to constantly push my wife to go out with her friends during this stage of raising a baby, to let her get some relief. They have a term called postpartum depression. It hits hard and it's can hit any time. Just know it normal and it will pass. It can feel overwhelming. Dark thoughts will come. Just remember it quite common. And to share these thoughts with your partner no matter how silly it is. My heart goes out to you, as one parent to another parent. You guys are doing a great job.

Our baby is about the same age as Wolfie, so we’ve been going thru a lot of the same things you guys have been. It can be tough and scary trying to figure things out, but you guys seem to be doing a great job. I was initially stressing out about producing enough milk and setting and schedules, etc. My husband convinced me to supplement with formula and to throw out the schedule and things got a lot easier to manage. My only complaint might be that the formula made him more gassy (from both ends 😆). I was also banned from googling baby info, because I was freaking myself out.
If you're pumping after nursing, then there may not be much milk coming out since he may be drinking most of it. I thought I wasn't producing that much either until my in-laws took care of the baby for us one weekend. I was pumping so much more milk, I was so surprised! So don't get discouraged! But there's nothing wrong with formula either. My sister in law's baby was formula fed and he's perfectly healthy.

Hey Paolo and Maiko! Honestly don't worry about making Wolfy fit to a schedule. It will change so much!
With my daughter I put her to sleep when she was tired and fed her/changed her when she needed it. That's it!
Now my daughter is one and sleeps approx 6:30pm to 6:30am. I never made this schedule, she just did this on her own!
I moved our daughter to her own room at 2 months because any tiny noise or grunt in her sleep woke me 😅 Nurses suggest they sleep in your room until 6-12 months old but I couldn't do it.

Some cook the bottles in water for 5 minutes 1 - 2 times a week.
The most important thing is mild dish detergent and clean and flush well with clean water.
It is enough with the usual water, because today we use clean water when we use tap water.
You do not need distilled water to clean the bottles

I breast fed both my boys and learned really quickly that in order to produce more milk I had to drink water around the clock. The more you drink the more breast milk your body makes. This was huge for me and wished someone would have told me that!

    • @dorieme

I agree with this. For me, I drank water WHILE breastfeeding and that actually helped to trigger more letdowns (when the milk flows quickly). Staying hydrated helps with milk production I think... at least it helped me a lot. I also bfd on demand in the initial weeks which seemed to help establish my supply. My SIL had a baby at around the same time but she didn't like drinking water and she also supplemented baby with formula and in the end her supply never really got established. All the best! You guys are doing a wonderful job! And don’t worry about the way you are holding him; so long as you are supporting his head it’s all good! I know my husband would hold our son like that all the time when he was 3 weeks old so he could look at his face. (he just turned 4 months old today).
It almost feels like a distant memory when my son was waking up every 3 hours to feed. The first two nights after returning from the hospital he was up every few hours, but after that he got into the routine of being fed every three hours which was nice to have some sort of schedule. However after he turned three weeks old it all changed. I had fed him at 12am and my body woke up at 3am for his next feeding, I had just warmed up the bottle, but he was still asleep; I figured any moment now he would wake up, so I just turned the tv on until I heard him cry. I ended up falling asleep on the couch and woke up again at 6am. I had not heard my son cry at all and I freaked out. I ran to his nursery in tears thinking I had killed my baby. I picked him up and put my head to his chest to hear his heart beat. He squirmed in my arms and gave me this glare like “what the hell mom? Why did you wake me up?”
From that point on he started sleeping through the night. At first it was 7hrs, then 8 hrs, and then 9hrs....now he sleeps a solid 12 hours before waking up and wanting his bottle. I almost feel guilty at times for how well my son sleeps. Other moms try and joke with me about not getting enough sleep, meanwhile I’m just sitting there like “actually I got 7 hrs of sleep last night and my baby sleeps 12hrs.”

Hi guys, you're doing great! We've raised 6 kiddos and all on a schedule, sleeping through night by 6 weeks (and some earlier). The main advice I can give you is to think of each cycle as EAT, WAKE then SLEEP (always in that order!). For example: baby wakes - feed straight away - change nappy (or before feed if needs it) then the rest of this cycle is his WAKE time. That can be a short kick time on his back or in his little seat. This whole cycle from the time he gets out of bed to when he goes back to bed should only be about 45 - 60 mins long at his age of 3 weeks. At night feed it's just FEED change nappy then back to SLEEP. Soon his day/nights will become sorted and he'll sleep longer stretches at night. He can start on a predictable 3 hours from one feed to the next feed cycle. As he gets bigger he will stretch to 3.5hrs and 4hrs between feeds during the day. Nights will stretch out :-). One thing I know is, ENJOY the newborn moments you have with him - it's so tiring I know!!! But oh so precious. You are doing a great job :-)

You’re doing great! First time parenting is hard! You worry all the time about everything. In the beginning the baby doesn’t have a schedule - they sleep a lot and not very consistently. For each passing month your baby becomes more awake. Every baby is different - some get a schedule early and others get it very late. You can’t say that either is better than the other. The only thing you can do is go with your babies pattern and ride it out. And remember to hug and kiss and give love and attention! You can’t spoil a baby at this age - he needs his mom and dad. You both look like loving parents and for you to worry so much means you are on the right path!

I want to tell you that you are doing great and things will get easier and easier. Usually 3 weeks, then 6 weeks, 12 weeks and then at 3 months, 6 months etc. in 3 month cycles. Our daughter quit night time feedings at 10 weeks old and has since then slept the whole night! Now she's 7 months old and still sleeps great so hang in there you'll get to sleep again I promise ♥

Such a cutie! It's a journey and y'all seem like great parents. I highly recommend buying your own electric distiller. It's a life and money saver. I bought one online because I use distilled water in my cpap machine and it was the best $65 I've ever spent.

For destilled water: you can use the water that is produced in the tumbler. That is actually destilled water. But you have to filter it for fluff. Just pour it into a coffee filter and it‘s done.

Look at you both -- pros already! Such a lovely family ❤ thank you for continuing to share it. My baby will be 5 months tomorrow, so it's lovely to "look back" and relive everything via Wolfie xD It's a wonderful journey, but it's also the hardest work ever! Good job, mama and dada!

First time parenting can be scary with all the unknowns and learning curves but you're doing great and you'll pick up what works and what doesn't along the way :) Sleep training is tough but it definitely does get better and you guys are already getting to the other side of the hardest period. Around 6 months he should have a more reliable sleep schedule so hang in there just a bit longer! My husband and I love your channel in general but especially love the Wolfy updates and we're excited to see where the adventure of parenting takes you both. Best wishes from London xx

Predicting a newborn schedule is so hard! And once you think you have it nailed, they change it up on you 😅 I have a 2 1/2 year old, so this is all still fresh in my memory. Now she sleeps all night for 11-12 hours, but that first 18 months was filled with unpredictable patches of good and terrible sleeping. I cannot recommend getting him on a firm schedule with a good night routine right around the 3 month mark. The change in a baby's sleep around 3-4 months can seriously rock you. Just be kind to yourselves. You're doing great 😻

Yall have a beautiful family! God Bless you guys! And all you can do is try your best, yall are great parents and I love that you both are home with the baby all day. I am a stay at home mom of 2 under 2 and it can be tough on one person. I love seeing yall help each other out! That is what family is about, having each others backs! And Wolfy is going to be so smart and curious about the world! A lovely trait to get from a lovely pair like you both!

my dad held me the exact same way when I was a baby. My dad's arms are HUGE and long so I got held in that position for a long part of my infancy. Until recently he still held babies that way and my family is rather large so we have lots of babies running around.

You can try to gradually adjust his sleeping and feeding time to what you can accommodate more easily. They can be trained. E.g. Feed extra in the night, say 9, 10pm, so that he won't wake up in the night because of hunger.

You don't have to waste money on distilled water. All you need to do is boil the water that you typically drink, use a fresh cloth to filter as you pour it. I just kept a pitcher boiled fresh every morning so its fresh. Good luck. Also don't follow any books, just listen to your baby. He will tell you his needs it just takes time to get adjusted to understanding his cries and what they mean. That's really the hardest thing of having a newborn is learning their language because all babies have different ways of communicating they are much smarter than you may realize they listen, track you watching everything so you will know their sensitivities to certain things. Best blessings and warmest wishes go Taiga Wolverine you have a very masculine name indeed!

Maiko, Paolo (We LOVE your Family) and we can’t help but mention that we had the same exact issue with our daughter. She had pimples like Wolfy. I was breastfeeding and supplementing with formula then. My doctor suggested that we switch her to hypoallergenic milk (vegetable based-Nutramigen) as the cow’s protein was a bit much for her to digest. In less than two weeks after the slow transition, her skin cleared out and she became less fussy. We were also advised to wash with just Ivory on all our clothes and linens and used cetaphil as her baby wash. The best decision ever. We hope this helps you too. Love watching all your vlogs!! Can’t wait ti visit Japan again!!

U guys are great parents and he’s so sweet! I have had two babies and had found that the feed wake sleep cycle helped me to direct times for them to sleep- the book baby wise gives some good guidelines and tips based on the baby’s age how to help them sleep and eat around times based on their circadian rhythm. Adjust things as needed to Baby and ur parenting . Hope it helps if u give it a go.
Love both your channels thanks for sharing ur sweet family. U really are doing great 👍🥰 👶

Fantastic team work! Your communication and loving support towards each will only continue to strengthen your bond and success as parents. ❤❤❤ Breastfeeding tip: increase the amount of water you are drinking (keeping water by the bed at night helps). Also exclusive breastfeeding along with regular Nighttime feedings at the beginning can increase your supply (about 20% of baby's total intake happens at night). This can help baby develop their Circadian rhythms faster. I did this with my first two and they both were sleeping 5-6 hours continuously at night by 8 weeks old.
Again you both are doing fantastic 🥰 truly inspiring ❤❤ Keep at it! Things truly get easier with time and practice.

We just got our son on 1st October. So we are now working on schedule our new born as well. Lol I was struggling with pumping as well, and it's hard. My nurse adviced to pump 8 times a day and at first you feed him with your milk and formular. It took me 8 days before I am now able to pump and feed him directly enough. So you need to work pretty hard to get there. Gambatte!
