This was quite possibly the greatest game ever. The Kangaroos got out to a 69-point lead midway through the second quarter. But the Bombers then staged the greatest comeback in VFL/AFL history to win by 12 points. Jason Johnson was best-on-ground. Matthew Lloyd, James Hird and Blake Caracella were some of the other stars for the Bombers. Here are the highlights!

Your thoughts on Hutchy as a commentator is a bit unfair, there was a time when I despised him due to his seemingly cocky and in-your-face style of journalism. However, the more I saw of him on TV and his knowledge of under-18 football as well, it showed to me that he is indeed a true lover of football on all levels. His commentary is actually not too bad at all, I think he is better than a few of them that were being forced down our throat a few years back.

What a team they were. That 1999-2001 side was truly awesome. However, when it's all said and done, only 1 premiership to show for 3 years of dominance. I truly believe this side was good enough to win a 3-peat.

I was at this game, I remember a stupid North supporter near us in the 1st quarter saying "its a miracle!" what an idiot. Anyway, I remember saying to my cousin at halftime that being 20 points down was alot better but still didn't expect us to win. So many people wanted to see this game in full that 7 actually showed a FULL replay of it late night with Huddo presenting it, I have it on tape somewhere. Whoever thought having Hutchy as a commentator must of been on some serious drugs.

OMG THEY WERE FRICKEN GOOD ESSENDON THEY WON AND IT WAS THE BEST AND IT WAS A HISTORY GAME EVER!!!!!! THE MEMORIES CAME THATS HOW THE CATS NEED TO PLAY HOPEFULLY IN 2021 AND FOREVER!
also at the 5:10 mark on this clip you see a girl in the crowd spot herself on the screen and yell "oh my god!" At the game they replayed it which was pretty funny, back when the MCG scoreboard feed was different from the TV feed.
