I play in a men's league with a bunch of guys who will cheat if given the opportunity, and it's like a game within a game keeping an eye on some of them. This video definitely helped me understand the new rule changes in 2019. Thanks, subbed!!!
Is there any rule as to how far you can jump the cart out of the bunker? Like how many beers you must have first, what club you should be holding (prolly a sand wedge...duh), or with or without passenger? This I need to know, gotta stay compliant.
I love these new rules. Golf should be made as easy as possible so everyone can score below 70. Every golfer is entitled to at least 10 birdies every round. They should also add a couple of more rules: 1. Everyone gets to hit three balls from the first tee without penalty. 2. Place ball wherever you like.
In my opinion, the most welcome change is the one allowing spike marks to be fixed. Even though almost no one wears metal spikes anymore, it just didn't make any sense to allow ball marks to be fixed, but not spike marks.
I would have saved dozens of strokes in a year when I played as a high handicapper. My brother pretty much played to these rules when he told me he shot in the 80s in the 1980s when I first went out. He was shooting in the 90s after I showed him the rules. lol.
Please change th OB rule to the same as a water hazard. There is no need to incur the extra stroke penalty when it is known where the ball went out similar to a water hazard.
Rules make the game, I don’t necessarily believe the game is lessened by some changes. Our home course is still a tough 72 par, regardless, even with rule changes
4:30 shows touching of line, but its done while player has already addressed ball! So that's a penalty for lining up a player "on or near the intended line"!
Some of the rules like getting a penalty if hit with the ball or not being able to fix crap on the green that's easily fixable or not being able to remove debris that has blown into the sand was crazy
I have a 2017 Genesis G90 which we absolutely love. We had two BMW 750LI'S and an Equus prior to our G90. It continues to get better. I don't care for the grill and wheels on the 2020 but I'm sure the vehicle is outstanding overall.
Well done video on the newest, and mostly moronic, changes to the rules. Next rule, ride in the cart while someone else plays for you. Two good changes; the reduction of time to find a ball from 5 minutes to 3, and the 40 second suggestion for hitting a shot.
I think every player will choose to leave the pin in when putting. Also, letting your caddie mark and replace your ball is nutty. What if it is done without your instruction (permitted by the new rules) and the replacement is bad? Is it the players penalty?
Rod Champ - normally cheaters sandbag to get a higher handicap so they get more strokes. Cheating to lower your handicap doesn’t make much sense. (I know you’re kidding, but if someone wants to cheat it’s hard to stop them)
Peter McGill - I think he’s imagining someone kicking the ball and improving their lie. But again, that’s cheating and if somebody wants to cheat like that, they should go buy a tennis racket because golf doesn’t want them.
Totally new to golf here. What sense does it make for a rule to be a recommendation (e.g. rule 5.6b)? So is it a hard rule, or still just a recommendation (no penalty for exceeding 40s per stroke)?
Golf is a lot about honour and courtesy. There are a lot of things you can get away with, but the point is that we shouldn't have to penalize people to enforce sportmanship. This is the hope of golf, not always realized.
16.3 is a GREAT change You hit a good shot the course is soaked, why tear up the course plus your most likely not going to make good contact. All new rules are made to speed up play.
The rule about not have to declare or be observed that you are lifting your ball for ID purposes is mad and will be abused. I also really wish they had bought in a rule giving relief from divots holes on the fairway, must be one of the most frustrating rubs of the green on golf. IMO!
Your opponent is 120 yards out and gains a foot - - does that REALLY matter? If he's cheating he's cheating all the way and ruining his "karma" and won't really enjoy the game.
@@TIMEtoRIDE900 Yes. It entirely matters if the lie is changed to a more favorable one. The distance is irrelevant compared to the lie. I do agree with you on the karma. Mostly common sense improvements to the game. Interesting that there aren't amateur and pro rules like there are in college versus the NFL
Some of these rules WILL be exploited by the golfing cheats. Eg a plugged ball..........previously a real test of your golfing skills now a free placement. You will now see more golfers stepping on their ball to gain this relief.
The rule changes cut out pure bad luck and time wasting. You are having a fantastic round and a soggy spot where green keeper overwaters gets plugged is soul destroying! 😂 Putting with pin in should have been introduced at the freakin advent of the game. It was always a stupid rule!
The only rule I don’t like is the OB. Myself and others have hit out of bounds on the same game and same tee more than a few times in a stroke round. That should never have been changed due to straight hitters being disadvantaged!
In your opinion, what brand of paste tastes better?
For you Jim, whatever removes the cum stains and anus breath. Couldn’t advise you on that! 😉
Fuddle the rule there should be no rules have a couple of beers and enjoy. Play 1$ to the closes to the pin on par 3's Ninth hole play for a dollar must par the hole 2 tie all tie,, 18th again must par the hole play for a buck two tie all tie. Have a great 2019 on the course.
No rules, huh. Says the guy who's likely never actually played the game. Enjoy your game, whatever you call it. I'll be playing golf.
All of these new rules should really help speed up play. LOL
This dropping the ball from knee hight is bloody stupid
Morthos Why when the ball was dropping from shoulder hight, it is likely to move out of the relief area but now it's not gonna roll too much.Isn't it good Morthos

Main ones I don't like are the remove impediments from the bunkers. Bunkers are supposed to be a hazard ( I know you can remove impediments from hazards too) and the I dont like the drop rule. Seemed fine dropping from shoulder height. Seems the "knee" drop could promote more cheating.
If your ball is lying against a rock, i think that you should be able to move it, as it isn't sand and could damage a club
wait till someone hurts their back squatting down...that will be the end of dropping from your knee
If they were perfect bunkers
@@Lemonz-nf9tj tiger woods that shit and move it out of the way
Bobby Jones is rolling in his grave, a few are close to cheating the integrity of the game.
bob jones didn't invent golf.
