12-year-old boy soprano Cormac Thompson has been singing since a young age. His debut album Hear My Voice was released when he just 11 years old and became a Classic FM Album of The Week.

For his age this was awesome. This is a difficult song to sing correctly and he has nothing but potential and a great future.
Thank you 🙏🏻 I really love singing O Holy Night, I will miss not being able to do it anymore but in this performance it didn’t help that just as the pianist started playing… the first time! Something fell off the piano stool and we had to stop so it could be fixed. I got quite nervous just standing there while they fixed it took about 10 mins but it felt like forever! 😅

Oh my gosh! I just found “Oh Holy Night”. From you singing at the Young Choirster. I’ve never heard it sung so beautifully before!, at yYour age to take the word “Devine” each and every time to the high note where it belongs is so spectacular! Very few can do that anymore. The whole song is perfect in every way. That one note just gets me every time!, Outstanding!!!

You couldn’t tell that you were at all nervous from whatever fell. My other feeling is just personal. If this song is not sung like you sang it with the perfect pitch high note for “Divine” it breaks my heart. So thank you for the perfection and grace!

I think, there was not really power missing during your performance. I think this is more a thing of comparison of you with others, who fire the refrain out in the air. And indeed, it is really seductive to emphesize some phrases in Christian songs, but it is often overdone. And it is not really necessary to do, in order to emphesize the message. It speaks for its own and it comes with higher pitch.
I like your special understatement in your performances. You don't bring artificial affections into your performances.
It is wise to perform according to your emotions and it is important to perform in a way that enjoys YOU, because it is your song as long as you sing it. It brings the freedom you need as an artist, that you don't depend on the opinons of others. Be yourself! And there are enough people who enjoy your way of singing.
