One of my personal favorites on Shogun. Such a great song. Shogun was the first Trivium album I bought on CD.

For some reason I never listened to Trivium back when I was in high school (senior year was almost 10 years ago, that’s insane), but I’ll never forget the day I heard this song in college on some random metal playlist on Spotify when I was in the library. It literally changed my life, and I’m not kidding. I thought this was one of the sickest songs I had ever heard in my life. I immediately listened to the rest of Shogun, and literally bought a 7-string a couple weeks later that I still play today. Learning that album on guitar changed and evolved my playing for the better so much and I’ll always consider it one of my most influential albums of all time. I love the new album too, and it’s been awesome keeping up with Matt’s streams during this quarantine. Alright, thanks for coming to my TED Talk, Trivium fucking rules, man 🤘🏻

May I ask why all of your performances on here you don't use your harsher vocal style when doing the non screaming parts? Like you're just straight up singing all the parts that have a harsher style. Not complaining, just wondering.
mikepshena saving his voice, he does this every day. Can’t blow his voice out for a live stream.
@@z.johnson936 I totally understand that, but he still does the actual screaming so it confuses me... is the screaming hes doing easier on the throat than the harsh singing?

Have you heard the new album? It’s pretty dope. My favorite tracks on the new album are Sickness Unto You, What the Dead Men Say, and Bending the Arc to Fear. The Defiant is comparable to this song.
