@@IVIShillizIVI It's because of the 2014 incident, which fucked up his vocal chords, but i have to agree, as much as i love trivium, the vocals have become less "rough" live, which i understand, but its kinda sad. The album versions are amazing though, and live is still pretty good. It has improved since silence era, so it can only get better.
@@IVIShillizIVI Nope I stand by my statement. Matt before wouldn't have been able to hit the high notes on The Defiant, at least not consistently (live). You could really tell he wasn't feeling good/straining too much when he first made the change in the Silence tour. He sounds a lot healthier live now. WTDMS sounds incredible with the new clean style and the old screams. Vocally, this is probably the best record since In Waves imo. I agree about the new screaming technique that he uses live but it still sounds okay in a live setting, esp with Corey's backing vocals. Thanks for the name-calling.

Not gonna lie Matt, I kinda drifted from trivium after in waves. “Which isn’t a bad album by any means”. But with this album and “The Sin and the Sentence”, I feel there’s a rebirth of energy in the band. Thank you for keeping me sane with these amazing songs. Seriously this music does wonders.

Best band in the world, been seeing trivium live every uk tour since 2005, still listen to all the albums regularly and listen do trivium every day, I didn't even like metal until I heard ascendancy...and still to this day , I find no other metal band like trivium. And as for CDs, yeah I still buy triviums, and few others , doesn't feel like im buying an album if i just buy the digital version ...plus I cant get it signed at concerts if its digital

Maaan i really feel what you are saying. Im 25 yo, being in love with Trivium for a while now. Also a big fan of old school Heavy metal like Metallica and Maiden and much more. Its good to read people like you man, my band mates who are a bit younger than you really "hate" all bands that came out in the early 2000's and i can't stand that stupid elitism. Always sucking the asses of the older bands, they are legendary of course, but Matt with Trivium and more are the proof that theres fucking good bands nowdays, even my guitar player really throws shit at them, you can dislike them but c'mon they are talented. @@IVIShillizIVI It's because of the 2014 incident, which fucked up his vocal chords, but i have to agree, as much as i love trivium, the vocals have become less "rough" live, which i understand, but its kinda sad. The album versions are amazing though, and live is still pretty good. It has improved since silence era, so it can only get better.

You could really tell he wasn't feeling good/straining too much when he first made the change in the Silence tour. He sounds a lot healthier live now. WTDMS sounds incredible with the new clean style and the old screams. Vocally, this is probably the best record since In Waves imo.
I agree about the new screaming technique that he uses live but it still sounds okay in a live setting, esp with Corey's backing vocals.

Best band in the world, been seeing trivium live every uk tour since 2005, still listen to all the albums regularly and listen do trivium every day, I didn't even like metal until I heard ascendancy...and still to this day , I find no other metal band like trivium.
And as for CDs, yeah I still buy triviums, and few others , doesn't feel like im buying an album if i just buy the digital version ...plus I cant get it signed at concerts if its digital

Always sucking the asses of the older bands, they are legendary of course, but Matt with Trivium and more are the proof that theres fucking good bands nowdays, even my guitar player really throws shit at them, you can dislike them but c'mon they are talented.
