    Samsung definitely has some conveniences that I miss, like the easier way to set up home screens and folders. But when I switched over to Pixel the UI just felt so much cleaner. Made me look at Samsung as having some kind of mask or film over top. I found its icons to look more cartoonish, and some of its design language a bit overbearing. And the bloatware just annoys me. (I buy unlocked Pixels right from Google to avoid the carrier bloatware as well.)

    I somehow love the simplicity of stock Android. It simply works out of the box for me with minimal customization.

    One UI 4, is a combination of years of listening to customers, taking pieces and parts from Custom Roms, and integrating all of that to work almost seamlessly, with their hardware. Android 12, in the Pixel form, is basic, and boring. If anything I feel like the Pixel version of Android 12, accept for under the hood changes, UI esthetic changes, looks like we took two steps back. One UI's implementation here, is superior.

      i agree with you that samsung definitely has been listening to customers and improving, i definitely disagree with you on stock 12s new look, i think they've done an excellent job with this new look and it is definitely one of my favorites, not a huge fan of the stupid themes samsung has. I also dont like my phone getting drowned out by bloatware like samsungs crappy apps. Again just my opinion but i definitely prefer this more professional and minimal android 12 which pixel and android enthusiasts prefer anyways.

    • @JstormZx
      @JstormZx 2 года назад +8

      @@elementskater1010 exactly. I stand by your opinion and have the same feeling.
      Samsung and other OEMs deviate from how android looks best. Adding things on top of things that at the end of the day is detrimental to the phone's performance in the long run.
      Stock, plain android, bloatware free experience is always better than some skin. Especially one like MIUI.
      Background/transparency effects and blur in unnecessary places causing lag and stuttering? Nonsense.
      Heh. I suspect one UI is stripped down on Samsung's lower end phones just because of performance issues. Something you can't see on stock android.

    • @ChillydontCap
      @ChillydontCap 2 года назад +3

      @@JstormZx except the fact Samsung devices last longer than Google phones. So stock Android does nothing to stop lagging nor does it extend the life of the device. Boring Vanilla Android is dumb seeing how Samsung outsells Google like 4-1 if not worse. Anybody sticking to Android for customization in 2021 is not an Android enthusiast, he or she is a nerd. Who cares what the lock screen is? It’s a phone lmao. You barely even look at the lock screen.

    • @JstormZx
      @JstormZx 2 года назад +3

      @@ChillydontCap right...
      Well in that case.. I think we know exactly what we're dealing with.
      "Samsung outsells Google".. Obviously because they make more phones and sell almost everywhere. Google doesn't sell in many places that people are itching for a pixel.
      How's that? Have you compared Samsung's market range to Google's? You cannot even raise that point. It is invalid and unfair.
      Overpriced and overrated.
      Samsung's Midrangers costing more than better performing alternatives.
      At the core, people who think "sticking to android for customization in 2021" is "nerdy" probably just has a crippling urge to fit in and sheepishly spend the money just to get a Samsung.
      Just because it's a Samsung... That's it. Nothing else. Value for money? 🤣 *Barely* the reason. As Samsung's high price doesn't always mean high value. Unless it's a flagship. That's literally the only time.

    • @JstormZx
      @JstormZx 2 года назад +2

      @@ChillydontCap "Barely look at the lock screen" well if you think nerds have a problem..which, you clearly do, that's your headache. Rich, Samsung sheep spenders never contribute to the android experience and try to help make it better anyways 😆
      I would never like to have your mentality. I'd rather be brain dead.
      Innovators never come from those looking to fit in, to get the latest Galaxy and don't care about customization and user experience.
      I love making my lock screen look absolutely different anytime and anyway I want. Forget about looking at it. It's there and I frickin love it.
      As well as every other part of the phone.

    FYI, yes, you can have a blank home screen on Pixel OS. I have it myself. All I did was moved all my icons into a single folder on the bottom row and removed everything else from the main home screen. This leaves a blank home screen and only one icon on the bottom of the screen. You can even have more than one folder on the bottom row to separate different types of apps.
    As cool as it may be, animated lock screens suck enormous amount of life from your battery. To me, not worth it.
    I actually prefer the bigger buttons on the Pixel's notification shade. It's easier to tap them and read them. And I prefer one button for dark theme all across the UI. Why would I prefer dark theme on the device but then have a bright white light punch me in the face for the pull down notification?
    I prefer Pixel's one-handed mode because it doesn't shrink the text which becomes too hard to read on the ONE UI device. Same with the split screen. Shrinking the app tends to reduce the size of the font on the ONE UI device making it much harder to read, even with my reading glasses on.

    Wow thanks I remember a couple of years back when jailbreaking your IPhone and IPad was really popular. There was a jailbreak app I used that make it so easy to more apps all at one time. That’s why why I never understood why Apple never embrace and adopted some of those app features. That could be used on there platform. That was one one and many other jailbreak features that maked me switch to android . They were so behind and slow at enhancing bringing useful features as these to apple iPhone owners

    dont be fooled by the tons of cuztomization features..android 12 is more fluid, more user friendly, less clutter, feels more modern to use as it is a lot easier to navigate..one ui feels like one of those chinese phones UI, too much unnecessary customizations, more extra steps, more clutter on screen..then theres,bixby as we all know is sub par

    People who have used both Oxygen OS and One UI: Can you please tell me how fast and/or responsive OneUI is? The last time I used a Samsung phone was in their TouchWiz days and the UI felt like it was dipped in grease! That's how laggy and slow and just generally delayed everything was. Currently using my OnePlus 5T.. it's been 4 years and it's STILL almost as blazing fast as day 1.
    So, how is OneUI? Does it feel snappy? Because honestly, I don't give a rat's ass about animations and aesthetics. I just need speed. I just want the apps to open the moment I click them and the settings to work the moment I tap them. My next phone is most probably going to be a Samsung, so I'd like to know what I should expect.

    • @XavierFernandes44
      @XavierFernandes44 2 года назад +3

      One UI is just as fast and responsive as stock Android! Just like you, I absolutely hated Touch UI on an old Samsung Galaxy S6 that I had. It was slow, unorganized, and looked terrible. That was the reason I switched to stock Google phones and haven't looked back for 10+ years until earlier this year when I switched from being a Nexus/Pixel owner to being a Galaxy S21 owner.
      My wife currently has a Pixel 6 and I've compared both phones. The Pixel 6 is a good phone; however One UI 4 on the S21 is leaps ahead of stock Android 12 in terms of features. As one user mentioned, there are so many small, well implemented features that One UI 4 has which I miss on my S21 when I use my wife's Pixel 6.
      Go for a Samsung Galaxy. They've done their work and taken customer feedback seriously. You won't be disappointed, and after a week of using/tinkering with it I'm sure you'll be converted like me. 😃
