And power saving during night time. - always on display only shown for new notifications. - Bixby Routines to switch on always on display when charging, so I see that it is charging and how's the battery. That's it!

I went from iphone 13 pro max to Galaxy s22 Ultra and love it!!! Just wish s22 has the smooth animation like iphone but best part is you can change animation to 0.5 or no animation to make faster switches
I have been a Samsung user for years now. Recently upgraded to S22 Ultra from S9 Plus after using it for almost 5 years. I still come around features that I never knew about. It's amazing how much Samsung packs into a phone, unlike others, who build their whole marketing campaign around a tiny graphic feature around the notch
If you have high refresh rate samsung phone without LTPO panel but still want to save same battery while using high refresh rate: Just create a bixby routine for if apps opened youtube, netflix etc then turn Motion smoothness to 60hz.
By the way it does not depend on the panel type, just the software. Dynamic refresh rate can change between 60-120 even without an LTPO panel(that type can go down to 10Hz).
@@yatinyash94 also, I correct myself, it is not true variable refresh rate, because it's only implemented on software level: it can go between: 60-90-120. But it's dynamic and useful anyways.
Most people think Samsung has a lot of gimmicky features, but once you try them and use them, there's just no going back. Like bixby routine automatically disabling fast charge when I put my phone on charge at night, automatically turning on dnd, playing a specific playlist on Spotify, putting the phone on mute and getting everything back where it was next day morning You can even set the maps and Spotify to start at split screen when you get into your car, turn on Android auto, even the sky isn't the limit here And thets just the tip of the tip of the iceberg
no need for any of these automatons, id rather samsung improve the ux and general performance and battery efficiency than all these gimmicks. Much of these are a tap away and not worth having added services running and harvesting your data
@@Cenot4ph Are you kidding me? It just goes to show you have no idea about these features. You can not do these on other phones with 20 taps, let alone one. I know because I've tried almost customisation. Launchers, widgets like KWGT just work on the home screen. They're not system wide. And then another 2-3 apps for lock screen, notifications, navigation buttons.
@@danlightened no im not kidding, these kind of apps like Bixby are pointless development time that can be spend on other things. Generally I find oneui to be bloated, a lot of thngs are fine with stock android. I've been using Pixel phone for quite a few years and it's simplicity works because things just work. You don't need 500 settings, you just need a few. With this mindset Samsung can spend a lot of time somewhere else and let the OS be mostly made by google.
@@Cenot4ph No doubt, stock Android is the best. In talking about 'Good lock' which provides system wide customization and I have not been that on any other phone.
Definitely the feature that really makes me feel jealous is the ability to transmit only music on Bluetooth. AirPlay works that way, but I wish Apple built a similar function for bluetooth as well. Also, the dual messenger is very interesting.
Some Routines+ options get added into the standard Bixby Routines app once you've installed the Good Lock module - one of these is "Button action" (it's at the very bottom of the list of Routine actions). You can simply set the side button action directly in there bypassing the first step you demonstrated. Much easier! As for DeX, there is absolutely no lag when you run it directly from your phone/tablet to a monitor. You do not need to use it wirelessly, nor do you need to connect it to an existing PC - a Type C connection straight to a display (or HDMI hub) is the best way to go. I literally use DeX on my Note 10+ as my primary desktop outside of work.
I'm a little confused - I have Routines an Routines+ in place but the only thing showing under Routines+ inside of Routines is ''Unlock with fingerprint'. If I select 'Location based quick access', the only thing I can select is the location. There is no option whatsoever to select the button.
@@frustyak only thing I can suggest is to make sure your Routines app and Routines+ module are fully updated. It may also depend on the device you have - I'm using a Note 10+.
Wow! That's an excellent move for smartphones in the right direction. The only thing stopping a phone from overtaking a PC is its small screen. The CPU and GPU is eventually become powerful enough to run most things. Direct connection to a monitor is great. The future of phones, I think is in-built projectors and holograms.

@@samteguh_ It isn't really worth doing, neither is most of the options like that. You also hear people who never charge their phones overnight and inconvenience themselves by having to build their schedule around their phone. It isn't worth the hassle of protecting your battery a little bit, and if you want to keep your phone longer than two years, a battery replacement only costs $80 and at least to me, that is worth the peace of mind of never having to worry about it. Besides, I have never been careful about the battery in my phone, and I just reached 2 years a few days ago and while the battery life is reduced, it isn't by much and probably only a little bit worse than when it was new. My friend got the same phone around the same time and was super careful with it's battery, and after two years, our batteries's performance is pretty much indistinguishable.
Samsung just has so many different types of media that can be customized. Wallpaper, launcher, widgets, ringtones, themes, icons, edge lightings, edge panels, AODs, keyboards, it goes on and on. It's amazing.

@@abhitejvelore you might be right, regardless, it existed in BB OS-powered phones; Bold series, Curve series, Storm series, Pearl/Pearl flip series, Tour series, Touch series, Style series, and even on BlackBerry Porsche series. My first BlackBerry BB OS device was Bold 1, I also owned Curve 1, Bold 2, Bold 5, Bold 6, etc.
@@TimP13 glad you figured it out. Cheers!
this is why i'm still using samsung device.. i'm using bixby routine and goodlock all the time, and the edge panel ofc. so useful.
ONE UI features is great, the only one need to improve is animation
Animations have improved a lot in one ui 4 compared to one ui 3.
It's with almost all androids. Though it's not such a big problem.
@@thejanrodrigo Yeah,I love 4.0,but still no enough.
@@javinhwang7937 i agree with you
I agree. I quite cringed when he resized the video frame on a PiP mode at timestamp 4:33. That’s why Apple always introduces some features late because they wanna make sure the feature works perfectly and smoothly. I always resizing my video frame on PiP mode on my iPhone 13 Pro.
This video has really differentiated from any other tips and tricks video on RUclips! I've learnt a lot of new things about my galaxy! Thank you!
I really hope they implement more Good Lock modules into One UI itself just like what they did with the Lock Screen customization.
These features are so cool, Samsung should advertise these features so more people will know about this
I went from iphone 13 pro max to Galaxy s22 Ultra and love it!!!
Apple:- Oh you might be talking about Huawei. We don't boast 🙃
If you have high refresh rate samsung phone without LTPO panel but still want to save same battery while using high refresh rate:
Just create a bixby routine for if apps opened youtube, netflix etc then turn Motion smoothness to 60hz.
that's useful
By the way it does not depend on the panel type, just the software. Dynamic refresh rate can change between 60-120 even without an LTPO panel(that type can go down to 10Hz).
@@smyly_sy Damn, then Samsung should have provided Dyanmic refresh rate option.
@@yatinyash94 yes, they should have added it. It's a "flagship feature" I think, because we can rarely see it on mid-range devices.
Like bixby routine automatically disabling fast charge when I put my phone on charge at night, automatically turning on dnd, playing a specific playlist on Spotify, putting the phone on mute and getting everything back where it was next day morning
You can even set the maps and Spotify to start at split screen when you get into your car, turn on Android auto, even the sky isn't the limit here
And thets just the tip of the tip of the iceberg
It sounds amazing. Like IFTTT for a phone. Sadly, good lock doesn't seem to be available for the M Series.
no need for any of these automatons, id rather samsung improve the ux and general performance and battery efficiency than all these gimmicks.
Don't know if you mentioned yet, but OneUI has the option to record ALL calls you get or make automatically. Pretty useful.
And that too without the other end person knowing that unlike Google Dialer...😁
I don't have that option, maybe because I live in Spain?
@@mai9 I don't either. I live in the UK. It's probably a US only thing
@@franklingoodwin Us varient don't have that too i guess...it's country specific feature cuz some country's law don't allow call recording...
But I have it in Indian varient...
@@Miguel-O-hara-2099 Good to know. I don't record calls but would like the option to if I so choose (if only to record the scammers that keep calling me)
Intros done forever. I love the new style of getting straight to the video
Great video. I used to be a Samsung hater but it has some of the best features on any UI rn. Sure it lacks the smoothness and responsiveness of MIUI or ColorOS. But I wish more Chinese OEMS copy samsung instead of Apple.
Nah, ONEUI is more responsive than ColorOS and MIUI. Its more stable too. ONEUI is handsdown the best android iteration out there. Even better than pixel ui. Chinese OEMs copy their icons from Apple mostly, but their settings and home navigation are mostly Samsung.
You missed mentioning Samsung Flow for easy transfer of files, notifications, screen casting and also sharing clipboard with PC, also the gestures that come with the stylist with Bluetooth from note 10 and the game plugins that take mobile gaming to different experience
Now we got smartphone and nearby share can share an app to another galaxy
Loved this vid! I set some of these up when I first got my S21 Ultra but I see there were some small things that were updated! 😆
Just recently found this channel and this very informative and helpful video has made me a subscriber already. I also saved it to one of my playlists to review step by step later. Thanks alot man, from someone that has been with Samsung and OneUI for awhile but has missed some of this stuff. I've also known about Goodlock but didn't really use it because with previous phones, internal storage was an issue. But now that issue didn't v really exist with my current and next device, give renewed my interest in it. Thanks for this! 👍 👊
The 30th feature is the same exact one as I replied on your Twitter. Glad I'm not the only crazy one that limits my battery to 85% max.
Does it really help in any way?
@@thisnamehaschangedthanksto8185 Not sure, I've only been using Samsung for 2 weeks.
Amazing video👏🏾👏🏾
And dude, your hair is GORGEOUS😍
This is what I've been noticing since 5 years ago, they have a lot of features ppl don't appreciate
Thank you so much for this video on behalf of everyone with a Samsung!! I know I'm extremely grateful!
this is what gaps between Samsung & iOS, but surprisingly not many ppl know this
Samsung just has so many different types of media that can be customized. Wallpaper, launcher, widgets, ringtones, themes, icons, edge lightings, edge panels, AODs, keyboards, it goes on and on. It's amazing.
yeah but it literally falls short when it comes to Customizations of ColorOS and Funtouch OS
This is why I like OneUI with all these features.
You need a newer s series phone to get all of them
Thank you so much, I thought I had everything on Goodlock fully customized until I watched this video 😅 now I know there's a lot more I can do and I'm subing to see more content
Cool video. The one thing I wish Samsung would improve is the lockscreen media controls and have them take up the whole screen with album art and bring navigation buttons closer to my thumb. Samsung should add a hardware switch for sound/silence like the iphone. Also a way to put a pin or password on certain apps would be amazing.
You can put a pin or password on specific apps using secure folder. Its not ideal because they have to be in the folder, but at least it works
@@franklingoodwin thanks for that. I'll give it a try
If you use Samsung music, then there is a toggle that does exactly what you're asking for for album art and media control. It's reasonable it only works with Samsung music and not 3rd party apps because its in the locked screen.
@@reinyeradoriuq2733 Nobody uses Samsung Music app do they? It's not even Preinstalled like it used to be
That tells me that neither Samsung or their consumers actually care for Samsung Music

The edge panel is such a sweet feature i use it every single day
It's funny how some people use the edge panel religiously and some people literally never touch it. No in between, either you love it or hate it.

One UI is the smoothest/most fluid, fastest, and cleanest yet most feature-packed OS Samsung has ever done in an Android and in a smartphone. It beats iOS in every aspect!

Great video and awesome features. It is crazy how small adjustments can help so much. 👌🏼
honestly wish they kept this robust featureset in their hardware too. i have a note 8 and i just don't feel like upgrading simply because anything after a note 9 just ended up removing hardware features. stuff like memory expansion, heartrate sensor, the backside fingerprint sensor that doubles as a notification controller, headphone jack. their note lineup up to the 9 has just been in another league of its own.
Excellent reviews ..... This is extremely useful and helpful .... To the point ... Keep it up
