  • With only 24 hours in Osaka, we did our best to see what needed to been seen without rushing too much. Exploring Osaka's culture, history, and cuisine is a must when visiting Japan. In this spring visit, we explore our top spots - Osaka Castle, Dotonbori, and the amazing views from the observation deck of the Umeda Sky Building. April is a fantastic time of year to visit Osaka. You can enjoy all of the sites without the cold of winter, and the heat and humidity of summer. Plus the crowds are lower after the cherry blossoms of March into early April.
I loved discovering the rich history of Osaka at the Osaka castle. I also really enjoyed the incredible architecture of the surrounding moats.
Viewing Osaka in all of it's splendor from high up on the observation deck of the Umeda Sky Building was so mesmerizing. I enjoyed taking pictures and video while the sun set.
Dotonbori was a wonderland of sights, sounds, and delicious food. I loved everything from the bright screens on the canal, the hidden cultural gems, and of course all of the delicious food. Our hotel was located right in Dotonbori which had us in the center of all the action.
