We loved Hakone, Japan! Ryokan, Public Onsen, and Lake Ashi.
Просмотров 2812 месяца назад
We loved Hakone! We stayed in a traditional ryokan in Yumoto, and tried out a PUBLIC Onsen. Plus we made the epic journey to Lake Ashi. What a fantastic place! We have always wanted to stay in a traditional ryokan, and finally did it. And after walking 15 to 20,000 steps a day exploring Japan earlier in the week, enjoying a public Onsen was just what we needed.

It was casually shot with an Iphone with no intentions of being put together in a cohesive video. I did however decide to post it because it's full of some of my happiest experiences that I will love seeing in my old age.
2 Days in Munich, Germany!

We spent two days in Munich and it wasn't enough! Two things that stand out in my mind is the skeleton covered in gems, and a church that gave me the creeps.
Me and my wife went to Koya during our trip last year, we took the opportunity to make a prayer at the shrine there, my aunt has cancer so we wished for her to get a healthy. 2 months ago we got news that her cancer treatment has been successful, we still can't believe it because at the time things didn't look good for her. Next year we will be going back to Koya and we plan to take my aunt with us.
@chinesekangaroo This is such a remarkable and beautiful story! Thank you for sharing. Mount Koya is such a special place. I’m happy your Aunt is doing well, and it’s miraculous she is going to experience these sacred grounds.
Beautifully and professionally done … appreciate your sharing ❤ what month were u guys there ? April or March ?
Thank you, that’s so kind of you to say. This video includes footage from October and April.
These videos are fantastic, and I've been taking notes for our trip in October! The photography is fantastic, and I love the color palette as well. What are you shooting with?
@justinbiegler8882 Thanks Justin - I love your commentary. October is a fantastic time of year to visit. I shot 98% of the Japan stuff with the Canon R6 using the 24-70 f2.8L lens.
I am in osaka in a week, this looks beautiful. Defintely going to visit.
@oliviawells563 Hi Olivia, I have no doubt you’ll love it. Enjoy your trip!
Great vid, some incredible shots. What was the camera situation? I’m taking 5 cameras with me next month 😂
@ravipatel85 Thanks! 5 cameras - daaang! I took the Canon R6 with two lenses. The 24 to 70 f2.8L and the 16mm prime. I never used the prime. I also brought the DJI air2s because we also went to rural areas, but never used it.
They rallied to the cause.,victor

You’re totally right about the new name, that was Michelle’s idea.
Best video about Koyasan on yt
Thanks!
Hi there! 39 and 42 year olds here! Last year my husband and I had gone to Japan for two weeks and one of our first stops after Fukuoka was a super remote and non touristy place called Amagase Onsen. Since I have tattoos, it was semi hard finding spots to get the onsen experience. We were already going to Kinosaki Onsen later that week but feeling tired we wanted to stop at Amagase before heading to Hita Japan to try out our very first onsen. But these were really public! Like on the side of the river that locals use that were also coed and didn't discriminate against tattoos. So when we got there we saw that one of the 7 along the banks was empty. Not for long though! As we made our way down to it, two little old local men also had the same idea and there we were, all 4 of us, in our birthday suits and while I was a little nervous, it all melted away as soon as we made small broken conversations with them. What an experience! We're heading to Hakone in Feb 2025 and really excited for it. I grew up watching anime and that's where Evangelion was also based off of in the series. Awesome video!
That sounds like such a cool experience! I watched your Kinosaki video - it was fantastic. Did you make a video on the Amagase Onsen. Reading your description painted a picture in my mind, so I'm just curios of what it looked like. Cheers!
@@MMTravelJournal aww thanks for watching our Kinosaki video. That place is really awesome and want to head back there. And yes our Amagase Onsen should be on the list too. It's titled under "Amagase Onsen." To respect the locals we didn't video that experience but the little town is so beautiful. Super easy to get to from Fukuoka. ruclips.net/video/AIQkHfzxVyg/видео.htmlsi=r_MDBK46DTmNTbdm
I don’t know how I missed that. Just watched - I love it. What really appeals to me is it’s not crawling with tourists. I marked it on my google maps. So if I find myself in Fukuoka in the future, I might check it out.
@@MMTravelJournal So it def gets packed during their summer festivals. It looks so pretty too. They have lanterns hanging all over the river area. We would love to go back there and really enjoy it. They have a few ryokan and hotels there too. Not this trip in Feb but the next time we go, we're heading to the Kyushu area to enjoy more of the countryside again.
thank you for sharing your visit in Kyoto! beautiful place!
Thanks!
Hahaha, loved the opening line. And the lady laughing and probably thinking "You F're why you put me and not tell me we're still recording.
It made me laugh, I had to include it - lol!
Your cinematography is awesome 🌷👍🌷 I can feel the calmness in your mind and the joy in your heart. It’s such a delight to follow your steps in Koyasan. Thank you so much 🙏
That’s so kind of you to say - thank you!
Were these all walkable in one day?
Yes, except the Fushimi Inari Taisha, you need to take the subway to that. Theoretically you could do them all in one day, but I think that would be a terrible experience.
Can I only select highlight spots to visit since I only have 1-day trip? Could you please suggest 4-5 spots on Mt. Koya? Thank you.
I would definitely visit Okunoin and the mausoleum of Kobo Daishi at the end of the walking path at Okunoin. Next, the Danjo Garan Temple complex. After that, the Daimon gate. That is the top three that can be done in a day. You can grab a tourist map when you get to Mt. Koya with ideas on how to spend the rest of the day.
Excellent video!!! Thank you!!!❤
Thanks!!
You can tell you are a photographer cause you focused on simple but amazing structures and wilderness
Thanks Jane!
How did you buy all the tickets at once? It seems like a lot of trains and buses and worrying about getting lost
It turned out pretty easy. We bought round trip tickets for everything at the ticket counter in the Namba station in Osaka. We just pointed on our phone where we wanted to go, and they took care of the rest. They gave use a couple of envelopes with the tickets. From the Namba station, you take the Nan Kai train to gokurakabashi station, there’s no other options but the cable car you’re supposed to get on. The bus waits for everybody at the top. It’s a very short bus ride to the different spots in Koyasan, and the buses run frequently. You can hop on and off all you want. It’s much easier than it sounds.
Some tourist just really suck unfortunately, on that note I'll be traveling to Japan this April beautiful video bro!😊
Thanks! In my opinion, April is the best time of year in Japan. Enjoy your trip!
Great video! 🥹 i will be traveling to Osaka-Kyoto this Oct, will add this on my itinerary.
Thanks! Hope you enjoy it!
I really love your videos broooooooo! They stand out from all the others IMO. And love the super pro camera work, great editing, great VO. Keep 'em comin'!
Wow! I’ve been doubting my style of content. I’ve wondered if it’s not palatable for most people. Your comment is encouraging and makes me feel good! I’m stoked you like it, and thanks for lifting me up.
Your narration, the visuals, and the music transported me to Koyasan. I felt what you felt, I had tears of joy in my eyes, it came from something deeper than that it’s hard to explain. We’re going to Osaka on the last week of this month and I just added Koyasan to our itinerary. Thank you so much. You have been very helpful 🙏👍❤
Your comment makes me feel so good! Koyasan is a special place, and I'm happy to share that. I am envious of your upcoming trip, and wish you the best experience in Japan. I would love it if you shared some of your experience when you get back. Cheers!
Welcome to another dimension on this planet!!
