See my teacher has thrown me straight into the Five Stroke Ruff which starts on the R and ends on the R. But they're proving rather difficult. A Four Stroke Ruff starts on the L and ends on the R, which I think is far more reasonable and kind-of gets the same result.
Grade 1 rudiments - Singles, Doubles, Single Paradiddle
Grade 2 rudiments - Flam, Drag, Four Stroke Ruff
That’s a great order to learn things I think! Having said that, if you’ve decided to work with a teacher and trust them, follow their advice!
