I love this generation of King Crimson. It feels to me like this is where the band settled a bit down and became a BAND. You have Belew with his ability to go 95% avantgarde, only to pull it back at the perfect time (with a smile), Bruford with his excellent mix of jazz, rock and "world music", Levin holding back just enough and Fripp being the weird effect unit in the corner that you had completely forgotten that you had bought, making sometimes incomprehensible additions to the music, but still somehow being irreplacable. I must admit that the latest incarnation (Beat) with Danny Carey and Steve Vai gives me almost the same warm feeling, but this is the "real deal". All hails to the Crimson King. And thanks for many years of wondering why I ever became a musician in the first place.
The Double Trio was utterly exquisite. I don't care about how it could be bloated on occasion. This era was capable of anything, it surprises me they didn't try too much more of the Crimson discography.
Who else has read the accompanying text? Judging by the comments, not many. It's a good read. BB, the drummer-analyst-philosopher. But a thought also occurred to me: was he, maybe, commenting on the current tour of 'Beat', where Danny Carey plays the drums on songs like this one? And if yes, would Carey fit the Expert Drummer definition? Or rather, in contrast to BB, not?

The best of the King!!!!🎵🎶🙏🤩👍
Totally agree on the e-drums aspect
Most kits still lack variation for each pad
Bit hopeful on the development of future electronic kits, still
I got to remember my slide more. I often don't use it, but it does work on occasion.
Great video.

Bill !!!
Never seen the 80s band live. I live in Glasgow, Scotland. Did that particular lineup ever tour Britain?
