This is why King Crimson is the king the number one of the big three thank you Bill for sharing this with us I'm almost 70 and I've been a fan since the beginning I'll be honest enough that I didn't always understand it when I was a teenager but as I matured so did my understanding may God keep and bless you

You got it my friend those were the three that not only introduced me but captivated me in the Prague music genre it's been a lot that have come and gone since but I'm not sure that I've ever experienced their equal

@@alichinoalichino2283 I'm surprised to see everyone omitting Pink Floyd. (Not unpleasantly, mind you; I can understand how one could love them, hate them, or anything in between, but I've never been able to understand why one would label Pink Floyd as prog.)

ive never seen them play this song live like this - it helps so much to understand to see the instrumentation and who's playing what

Belew and Tony on tour, Bruford posting double trio at 4 am, Fripp doing silly video with his domina... I mean wife.
It doesn't get much better than this for the Crimheads

YES!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This is the exact song Ive been wanting to see a good quality video of for a long time. To me, it (and Sex Sleep Eat Drink Dream) is a perfect example of the Double Trio's capabilities!
    Also, Trey Gunn solo section.

That was definitely a decent snare drum roll there at the end, for sure, and your right Bill, performance psychology is very important, you're a true musician Bill always was there for the song to prevail.

Captures deep underlying gyrations now rattling us to change what we have collectively interfered with Mother Earth, in Her pulsing eco systems still repairing as witnessed in her weathering gyrations upon us daily mirroring what we collectively withered. Yet she vibrates through music to sustain us.😢 we can still awaken, act and join with Her❤

The only Crimson incarnation I saw live. I remember after visiting the concert in The Hague that I felt like giving up playing drums, as I realised that Ovwould never reach such a level.
But then I saw some coverband playing in a pub I went to afterwards and I thought better of it.

I think this was a highlight, esp. at the outro with something that reminded me of 'Heart Of The Sunrise' like 'Bill unleashed' again. The interesting polyrhythmic phrases on the other track 'Eat Sleep Sex Dream' (around 1 min 40 sec) is a whole other can-of-worms. ;) compliment of course

    Hello Mr. Bruford!
Do you happen to have access to that masterclass program you recorded? Where you address the camera personally on concepts such as "rhythm is imposing on the flow of time" and demonstrating close examples for learning drummers?? Would love to see that full program

It seems to me that “Performance Psychology” is too narrow a term to explain the main reason why we play what we play. IMO, the more appropriate term would be “Personality” albeit it can make things even more complicated for the uninitiated. Another useful and related term could be “taste”. These terms define how we approach things we do in life including musicianship.

Fripp could have written this same essay in the context of guitar. Adrian, Trey and Tony all contributed to this song - I think Fripp slept until some gentle volume swells to close the song.

Bill why don't you at least travel around and do drum clinics again? It's not actually playing in shows anymore. Many of still can't comprehend why you have distanced yourself to an instrument you loved. You can still be retired from performing yet still occasionally play in the public right ?
