Great. I've seen a lot of instruciton videos from much older "know-it-all" types and your plain modest delivery is admirable. One thing though. "weary" means tired and "wary" means careful and suspicious.
Subscribed. Watched a couple videos. My uncles always usually do the calling, I bought 3 calls and have been practicing like crazy. Thanks for the post and showing simple calls that will eventually turn into really good killer combos
I feed a pair and I just talk to them and once I played baby ducklings chirping and they freaked out and was looking for the babies, so I never did that again, But the female LOVES mealworms so I bring the worms out slowly when they come to eat and I am now able to get about 2 feet from them. But now I have another couple that keeps fighting my ducks and it's actually intense and my 5 year old cries when she sees them go at it.
How do you get the Zink to sound like that I bought one after watching this video and it doesn't sound anywhere near as nice as when you do it. Did you tune it?
there are couple companies that make the same design ... I think duck commander has one but I bought the Buck Gardner version is the 6 in one or 7 in one something like that ... you can do a drake mallard, wigeon, teal, pintail, and even a mourning dove call. it might also do quail and a hawk call too but I never tried those.
Actually the most vocal birds on the pond are the hen mallards! next time you're out scouting or glassing ducks just focus in on the hens once and you will see for yourself! The Drakes are normally just doing I quick little quack which is maybe 1/2 second long at the most.
