    I don't think it's about "journalists" needing to validate anyone. They have a need to fabricate outrage for clicks by finding anything no matter how trivial and pushing and exaggerating the narrative until it gains traction. Once that happens every other clickhunting "journalist" will use it as a definitive source.

    • @codinghusky5196
      @codinghusky5196 Месяц назад +1

      It's leaning the PROPER way - it's making fun of an aggressive toxic relationship between two people, AS IT SHOULD. It's an awesome, well placed joke that takes a jab at what's ACTUALLY wrong.
      I mean, some people side with Amber, some people side with Johnny, but REASONABLE people understand they're both blithering idiots who damaged their own lives, and what's worse, their child's life. Fans of Johnny will say "but SHE did it ALL" while completely losing perspective that HE wasn't a helpless victim chained to the bed. I mean he could've walked out on that relationship AGES ago and also have kept a condom on. Instead they created all this pathetic drama with their kid as a collateral.

  • @skywanker31415927
    @skywanker31415927 Месяц назад +4

    If anything, the joke will date the movie. In a few years, people will scratch their heads and say, "Huh?", if they even perceive the joke as such.

    • @Baulderstone1
      @Baulderstone1 Месяц назад +1

      Even if the joke is dated, one joke won't date the movie.
      In any case, I like a little time-specificity in old movies. Part of the fun of old movies (and books) is old references and slang, especially as we live in an age where you can just look it up online if you are genuinely puzzled. I watch a lot of foreign movies too, and encountering expressions and cultural practices that are novel to me is part of my enjoyment
      I don't think going over a screenplay to make sure a movie is purged of all jokes people won't get in 20 years will just result in even blander movies.
      I also think that Johnny Depp stands a good chance of entering the pantheon of stars that people will remember indefinitely. The Depp-Heard trial is also very likely something that will be an enduring part of Hollywood history..Not only does it have plenty of sordid details, it's also genuine cultural turning point against cancel culture.

  • @Johnsrage
    @Johnsrage Месяц назад +3

    The wording of the joke is so vague as to be inconsequential. What he SHOULD have said was "Jeez, did Amber Heard drop a deuce in HERE, too?" {quick edit: If that's TOO specific, say "crazy Amber" instead. If Miss Heard's lawyer's object, they could say, "we didn't mean YOU, we meant some other Amber".)

    I remember the scene... but I don't remember her saying that. Also, if it's the scene where she attacked him while he was wearing the costume, and the place is all messed up, why would anyone be offended by that? The Depp Heard trial went into too much detail about their lives and the fights they got into with each other. I see nothing wrong at all with a joke mocking that. Maybe if there was shit on the floor in the trailer I would say it was a bit too on the nose, but otherwise, this is a non-issue.
