These beats are fresher than my morning coffee! ☕🎵
I recently was “gifted” a workstation GM synthesiser from the 90’s with full-fledged MIDI implementation. I played around with it, realising that being limited by GM sounds, I only could focus on the arrangement and composition of the song. Which in turn gave me better ideas than when I would be doing sound design at the same time.
Maybe something for others here to think about. When something sounds good in GM, I’d bet it sounds awesome on synths that can offer more. And you’ll have a second “discovery” phase: finding the coolest sounds for your already nice sounding composition 😊
My Ambient Workflow: 1. Find a dark or cheesy drone (depends on the subgenre). 2. Add Delay 3. Add Reverb 4. Add more Reverb 5. Add Shimmer Reverb 6. Add a bit of Saturation 7. Add the final Reverb. ;-)
“There is no such thing as too much reverb”
-Martin Goldman 2023
@@MidlifeSynthesist :)))) Great video by the way.
@@martingoldmannmusic thank you!
You forgot bout the Master track, adding compression, delay, and extra reverb just before a shimmer reverb. All going into a Black hole reverb.
I would have kept the piano and used it as an intro or maybe as a bridge to another section of the song. That way you are not stuck with just a loop but have additional musical elements to work with when arranging the song later on.
You seem such a nice guy in all your videos, very relaxing to listen to your ideas.
Great stuff dude, love the way you explain to the viewers whats going on
'what feels good vs what technically sounds good'
This!
Stay safe and keep jammin!
Thanks and may the jam be with you as well my friend❤️
I always like the way you talk about gear but this is better, it's about making music. You don't mind being vulnerable, showing the real thing, please keep it up.
Bravo... Leave behind what drags us down. Now to finish my mix
Thanks for watching!
Loved it as always! ❤
Thanks brother!🙌🏻🙌🏻 miss you🥲!
1. Sample my own music with sampler of the day
2. Resample it into oblivion
3. Chop it into something interesting
4. Build on those chops to a 4 or 8 bar loop
5. Arrange it
6. Realize that the chops are no longer inspiring
7. Delete or mute the chops
8. Save and close project
9. Forget about the song for a day or a year.
10. If i hate it resample it
rinse repeat 😂
Lol, sounds legit😜
Love your channel homie!
Was that a Wooten quote on the player/listener
@@alanhumble662 I love Wooten and it definitely sounds like something he would say, but I’m pretty sure the guy in the video someone else🤟🏻
Thanks for being here bro!
This is off topic but where can we find your music online?
That should be your outro music for your videos. Roll credits.....
