These were all sick I thought El's was the waviest personally, I probably would've cut a massive oval in the back of the trucker jacket and covered the inner and outer in PVC (Helmut Lang stylee) and put a giant patch inside of it (removable and replaceable) folded back the sleeves a bit kept it in place with a shit load of pins! Put some UV string at the end of the collar and connected them to some dope sunglasses. Pants trim them down a bit, distress them patches for back pockets and just as a little extra touch add a striking surface on the jeans small bit so you can light matches smoke up and stay lit.

I would’ve put the twin peaks floor, black and white pattern on the back pockets. I would also write something like «all I ever really wanted» at the lower legs of the trousers. And on the jacket I would loove to have outcuts of like three or four retro patterns overlapping eachother at the back of the jacket. And at the front of it I would have stickers of bands like the bee gees, Jackson five and Wham!

both Shaq and Elias killed this challenge.
As an aspiring artist I really like the whole Sketchbooking process so I would paint loads of sketches allover a patchwork denim jacket like Da Vinci style of sketches. I would also incorporate some art from my favourite artist Steven Spazuk who paints with fire and uses a lot of birds and floral imagery in his paintings and would also have an unfinished copy of claude monet's bouquet painting to look like a study to finish off the sketchbook look.
the jeans would be similar to the vetemquite similar but have more text. different quotes from my favourite books: rome and juliet, animal farm and films: imitation game and moonlight etc. i would also paint a portion of the left leg in a forest green inspired by gosha rubichinkiy's combo logo sweater and margielas painted jeans because i really like the colour and also how the paint cracks over time.

  • @grimmyreaper
    @grimmyreaper 6 лет назад +43

if i could customize denim pieces, jacket: i would add clear pvc pockets, patchwork and paint a basquait-esque portrait on the back.
pants i would paint a poem in black text have to shades of denim for each leg, add a zipper to the knee of the left leg and a some more patchwork. Another solid episode, looking forward to more bangers!

I’ve always enjoyed dressing in two different types of style. Rocking the dark colors and grunge look like Dex, and being really colorful and outgoing with my outfits like Elias. So I would go for a 50/50 look all the way down the outfit including the pants. On one side I’d love to experiment with color blocking and putting pastels and on the other black with distressing and to bring it all together I’d love to put an embroidery of a sunflower on the back of the jacket because they are my favorite and is a representation of my style since sunflowers still grow in the dark. ( my love for color and black ). This would also be a good bday gift love you guys at the paq studio

    MY CUSTOM FIT:
-Merge the jacket and jeans together to create a pair of long sleeved dungarees. (I would allow the buttons on the jacket to still be functional to enable me to undo it and have an off the shoulder look also)
-Cut offs would create a belt long enough to wrap around multiple times, I would dye it darker to get a contrast between the two denims and have Levi printed on it in black(inspired by off-white)
-I would distress the pieces by spraying bleach and black paint to get different shades in the denim
    - On the right leg there will be a small and on the back bigger, print of an illustrated surreal drawing of a person in earthy colours (inspired by a Kev James and Jade Tomlinson tattoo & Carhartt) segments of this illustration will also be dotted around the fit e.g on pockets of jacket, on other leg/back of legs
    - I would sew darker denim strips down the arms (Adidas inspired)
-Dye the cuffs and collar in black to match the black paint splats

Add hella rings to an oversized pale denim jacket just on the front so u can hear me coming a mile off all jingly and that so i dont get lost. Rings would be all silver and then also polish them to make them hella bright. On the back of the jacket i would have a dagger (a bit like 21 savage's) surrounded by a crown f thorns all drowned in blood with "ALL RISE" in gill sans mt underneath. Patchwork denim bucket hat as well w/ rings coming off the bottom all the way around. Then for trousers cut up two pairs in half and stick them together (one half proper pale and other half black) another mad episode as always. Xooxoxo

For the jacket, i would cut it right underneath the shoulders, put eyelets on the edges of the cut fabrics and put thin laces randomly through them to connect the pieces back , and also paint a blossoming almond tree on an ochre colored circle (the branches of the tree coming out of the circle) on the back.
For the pants, i would cut the legs at multiple different lenghts and connect them using laces to match the jacket.

For a bit of denim a customisation I'd take the trucker jacket in a lighter denim, dying it in natural Japanese indigo. But tie dying circles across the whole piece, letting some of that lighter denim come through. Would also look to adding some white contrast stitching throughout. The jeans I'd take the baggiest fit dye in indigo, add a contrast stitching as well as utility pockets and some hammer loop detailing to give it that denim painter vibe.

Loved this episode! My vision would be to put a feminine, early 2000's spin on the challenge. I would acid wash the denim and then dye it so the denim would be a marbled white and light pink pattern. I would then crop the jacket so the hem would end above the belly button. Next I would bedazzle the cuffs and the edges of the collar with Swarovski crystals for that added feminine y2k vibe. For the bottoms I would want jeans in a "mom jean" silhouette, with a high waist to compliment the cropped jacket. The bottoms would also have the marbled white and pink acid wash pattern, with Swarovski crystals around the front and back pocket edges.

Well done all of you you absolutely killed it, in my opinion it's probably the best pieces you've ever made!
For my denim outfit I would do something that looks like my relatives on a oversized jacket. I a student in London, but my family is spread in France, Germany , Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey... So I would make a crazy-colourful jacket with all these flags embodied in the denim to show the pride and love. And on the inside I would had all their names embrodered to have them with me wherever I go
For the trousers I wouldn't go for the 501 but more a loose dark blue fit that tapers down to the ankle with just a few details on the legs and pockets... That way not only will it fit more my style but really take a step back, and let the jacket shine just right
Btw this competition is super cool and some of the ideas are really really good, so cheers to all!

On the bottom some classic jean jacket shorts except only made of pockets. Both of em with the loops from the belt all over it so I can attach jean chains all over.

I enjoy travelling so for my denim fit, I would go for an oversized black denim jacket with cropped 501's for the bottoms. I'd customize the top and bottom into a travel outfit by adding patches and pins from all the places that I've travelled to. On the back, I would paint an outline of the world map which fills up depending on the places that I've been to. I would use the inside of the jacket as a place where the dope people that I've met on my trips can sign.

  • @stephenbae2049

Wooow also my favorite challenge to date! Here’s how I would approach it.
Theme: 2 personalities, 1 fit. Each of the items will be split at the outer seams. Not reversible.
Jeans: black levis 511 facing front, dark washed blue 511 facing rear. Since Val is my biggest inspiration, I would patch the two faces at the outer seam with a large white denim thunderbolt that runs down the entire length of the seam.
Jacket: dyed dark olive green facing front, mustard yellow facing rear, the seams here are tied with leather twine (kinda like Elias’) and attached to each knot is a festival pass from years prior, lookin sort of like cowboy frills running down the outer arms and shoulders. Good luck everyone else, I’m sure we all got dope designs in our heads! Thanks PAQ

The “Shaq-speak” translation was GOLD. LOL
    My custom design:
    * paint a Japanese wave pattern with wax with a dripper on blue trucker and jeans pants
    * dye it rust color
    * pattern will appear as wax repels the dye. This is how Batik patterns and fabrics are made traditionally and I really enjoyed making things like scarves when I was younger. I think this will look sick!

  • @soyacracker
    @soyacracker 6 лет назад +5

So first of all 13:28 had me blush man why u gotta be so adorable???
I would customize the jacket by dying it black with a Francis Bacon inspired portrait on the back, use dry paint as well to give it the idea of more texture (colour palette would be white, black, pink, beige and orange). Would stitch a quote by Bacon himself spread around the jacket: "all painting is an accident" vertically along the left sleeve, and then "but it's also not an accident" along the right one, to finish with the rest of Bacon's quote "one must select what part of the accident one chooses to preserve" around the collar (can you tell this man inspires me lol). As for the jeans I would fray the hem of the jeans, have the left of the jean be made up of a white pair, the right of a black one to add to the concept of the jacket and two different sides, and add paint splashes/drops in the palette mentioned above!

Been influenced lately by Japanese denim. Would love to customized levis denim through Japanese garments called BORO from northern Japan in which farmers used patchwork to keep warm in the winter. BORO is passed down through generations patching them again and again to preserve every scarp of cotton cloth and overlaid with cotton stitching called SASHIKO. Modern examples of BORO in denim include KAPITAL denim from Japan.

I would have picked a tangerine colored denim jacket. At the back and the bottom of the jacket, I'd put a lot of daises and sunflowers embroidery or patches. In a way, it would look like a field of flowers like the flower boy album of Tyler the Creator. And I'd write "Les fleurs" in white.
On the front, I would put some bees patches on the pockets.
For the bottom, it would be the sme color and it'd put on the length in vertical "Find sometimes to do something" in white too !

Nah nah nah fuck that. I'd do a black denim jacket with grey denim patches every. Green ooze patches on the shoulders, cuffs, and bottom. I'd get the original OF patch all over the front right side, on the left, have the Wang cat patch with a bunch of Tron cats lyrics, on the right arm, have Lyrics to Earls song "Hive", with the Doris album cover on the top, on the left, have Slater's face on the top and have the songs sandwiches, oldie, We got bitches, and Doris embroided, and on the back have it split down the middle, on half is the goblin patch, and the other side the Bastard patch, so it'd like they're stitched together. And on the bottom just have the words GOLF-WANG
      FUCKA

Firstly, I would have two different shades of denim on the jacket and the jeans (half and half on each-one light blue the other a dark navy blue). Then on the sleeves and shoulders of the jacket I would put silver studs on. Also on the sleeves just below the studs I would have an embroidery one reading ‘depression’ and the other ‘obsession’ (one of my all time favourite X songs). Then I would have on the back of the jacket a collection of different skull patches all intertwining with each other to make an overall giant skull outline along with an embroidery just above the patches that says ‘I value your acceptance, not your money.’ As for the jeans I would have studs around the outline of where the pockets begin (front and for the back studs all around the outline of the back pockets). Then down the right trouser leg I would have a print that reads ‘You are literally entering my mind’.

I would probs get a Levi’s denim jacket with the sheeps wool on the inside and then I would put one of my favourite poems on the back and on the trousers I would shorten it and Frey the bottom and put some sick ass cut outs on the back

for the jacket, I would take a washed black trucker jacket and put holes just like eyelets on shoes all over them and use contrasting cream thread to close the fraying. Then I would take thin strips of denim with some more cream stitching and run them through the holes in the jacket randomly like a connect dots then leave the ends hanging down. the jacket is inspired by something i saw A$asp rocky try on in the video 24 hours with a$ap rocky from Vogue Paris. for the pants, I would get the same black was color 511 levis I would keep the bottom a little simpler because the top is really the statement piece. The jeans would have an embroidery in the cream thread with a saying or quote, one knee would have the same sort of lacing with the denim strips that are on the jacket, all the way around. I put a lot more thought into that then I planned to lmao.

id take the theme of trance/ techno music festival
    pant:
    flared jeans
cut the pant in half and sew together two different coloured jeans (i.e. one light wash half and one darker jean half). at the bottom of each leg cuff, i'd attach one end of a zipper, and do the same around the waist part. so theres zipper at all the 'openings' of the jean. the zipper will also run all the way up the middle of each leg.
a patch of an eye on each back pocket - the eye has four separated top eyelashes
    denim jacket:
    - paint a white 'canvas' on the back
    - over the canvas using neon pink and yellow outline of eyes and body silhouettes
    - same eye patch as pant but on the front two pockets of the jacket
    - make the color of the collar dark wash jean, whereas the rest of the jacket is light wash jean
    - add a half of a zipper around the collar

Silver denim oversized pants with orange denim pants stitched on it, like pockets on the sides almost like cargo pants. Use denim scraps to put in a belt that hangs, and is rough around the edges. For jacket, an oversized truck jacket w a huge image having to do w local skating and orange maybe w a sunset in it. Also adding the scraps from the belt onto that :))))

Denim skirt and oversized truck jacket.
Back piece of the jacket screen printed with a old 80s-90s playboy cover with a coating on top to give it some texture. Sleeves with playboy embroidered patches at the bottom , skirt punched with holes along the sides then chains threaded through with the waist of the skirt taken from 501 to give it a high waited look and the added waist covered in the same coating to tie together the look

Loved this challenge! If it were me, I would customize a denim jacket and add metal rings across the shoulders and down the sleeves for and edgy/punk look and possibly make the front pockets a clear holographic plastic material. For the jeans, I'd go with the classic loose fitting mom-jeans (probably high waisted 501's) and add flower/alien embroidery on the thighs and the back pockets. Overall, the look would emanate a very 70's/60's vibe with splashes of futuristic touches.

As for the denim jacket, i'd probably make it reversible, with one side themed astroworld, and the other themed around DAMN, and for the pants, rip holes in it and simply replace with colorful patches from other clothing

I would make a jacket sweater hybrid and a pair of jeans with slits and rings/eyelets(not sure of the right word) for ventilation. I would also include panels and patches of sweatshirt, track suit, and knitted sweater types of materials. Some kind of detachable shoulders could be cool either with zippers, pins, or rope but I really don’t want to make it extra. That also goes for the eyelets, patches, and flaps(or slits). I would try to arrange the parts so that they wouldn’t look to busy. Preferably pulling of some mild of sports or tech vibes.
Maybe the best episode of PAQ. Love you guys, peace.

I would use a black jacket, cut the bottom off to crop it, then machine embroider vertical stripes down the body and sleeves using multicoloured threads, which I would leave untrimmed along the bottom raw edge, creating a fringe effect along the waistline and cuffs. For the bottoms I would use a light blue jean to contrast with the black jacket, and keep them simple, adding coloured stitching around the pockets and hems, using thread matching the jacket.

To customise my trucker outfit I would first begin distressing it. go under the holes of the distressed bits with either a camo fabric or with a lighter toned washed denim by stitching it on, showing the thread for a more deconstructed feel. I use military badges to stick on. I'd line the inside of the jacket with camo. on the outside I would either embroider words on or write them on using a sharpie. On the back of the trucker jacket I'd screen print large words onto the back of it in white text in cooper black font.
The jeans, default distress, following the same trends and patterns of the jacket. Slit the knees. go under parts of the distressed holes with a lighter washed denim or a fabric with the stitching shown above. Get rid of the pockets on ur arse. Cut off the little foldy bit at the bottom of each leg and leave it exposed like that to rest perfectly on a clean pair of white af1. Id then maybe go over with a sail white colour and flick paint onto the jeans on the front facing side. Then write some words on in permanent marker or embroider them on.

I’d shorten the jackets body and add a yellow stripe down the back that continues onto the jeans. Use embroidery to put a giant wolf head across the entire back and back of the arms, using yellow stitching and contrast white stitching where it crosses over the stripe and loops on the shoulder and body to hold a cross body bag. Slightly flair the trousers and use embroidery across the knees with darker denim patches under them. Add an inside pocket too

DUUUUDE elias killed it no lie but shaq did wonderful as well!!
I'd probably deconstruct a lighter jacket and make patches out of it. I screen print so I'd put my own designs and drawings on the patches and sew them onto another jacket. I'd also probably dye the jacket a nice vermillion colour. Maybe I'd make a matching bucket hat. I'd keep the bottoms simple but add a hand sewn stripe of dyed and printed-on denim down the outer legs.

I would make a double denim outfit using a bunch of different washes of denim, cutting them into squares and sewing them all together. The bottoms would be a raw hem cropped Levi’s silver tap fit, but still be made out of different squares of denim. At the waist there would be metal hoops to attach silver chains to accent the jeans.

Black (Sherpa maybe)trucker jacket: Major elbow destressing to lay dark forest green paisley patches underneath, rip the collor off leaving threaded edges. same green embroidery on the left pocket (dog tag with 1994 and Baxter on it) larger embroidery of the same image on the back. added zips on the lower half of the waistline(both hips) old 501 pocket stitched on the inside for the inner pocket.
Black dungerees: same embroidery again back right pocket. Dark forest green paisley again under some stone wash like destressing on the knees. Back left pocket will be the dark forest green paisley. Zipped cuffs similar to the fear of God style. Extra belt loops attached will white denim.
Hope this is a taster of what the customisation could be and that it entices you enough to pick me. Keep up the great work guys love what you're doing.

I would use a dark grey/black denim jacket and add silver zippers all over so you can remove sleeves completely, up to 3/4 sleeves, and tee shirt length sleeves (so i can even wear the jacket with different sleeve lengths on each side). Also zippers around the waist to wear the jacket cropped if i'm wearing high waisted bottoms. As for the pants I would choose a pair with a bit of flare. But at the bottom add extra fabric for a super extreme flair as well as adding loads of zippers as well so i can turn the jeans into shorts or cropped capri length without the excess flair. This way I can make loads of outfits with only two pieces and wear them in more season. All the zippers will be hemmed on with white thread so they pop off the black fabric.

I don’t know if this is open to Canadian residents but I love PAQ and I loved this challenge, so here I go:
With the denim jacket I’d actually cut it up and turn it into a bustier-styled crop-top, with denim garter strips that can attach/detach the sleeves of the jacket. I used to acid wash all my things back in 10th grade, so I might bring that back and add a bunch of rhinestones all over, I want it to be blingy af.
With the denim jeans I’d cut them into my favourite style of short and also attach a Laura-Croft styled holster belt to one leg and splatter it with white paint, I’d distress it from fraying to rips and even distressing the Levi’s label on the back.
    Boom, a look✨.
