I see a lot of myself in Abishola as it relates to Bob’s sentiments regarding Abishola’s emotions. I definitely compartmentalize my emotions. I’m not giving my emotions to any and everybody. That crap is draining and i simply do not have that to give to any and everybody. Many people and their circumstances are simply not worthy of that.
I don't like this show at all. It has funny moments. But Abishola doesn't like the way her mother treats her. Which is controlling abusive and manipulative. She turns around and does it to her son. This show tries to make control and abuse funny.
This is just the African culture. It might seem that way but to us it's a norm and as much as it's controlling, we see it as love. Our mothers always want the best for us. E.g we were beaten up for the mistakes we did when growing up. I turned out to be a refined woman. Not the best way to correct a child, but it helped a lot from becoming indisciplined children.
I felt bob here "It was his best friend"
The perfect representation of me and my boo, except I am Bob lol.
