    Oh my goodness, I went to boarding school with Folake. So proud of her, I also recall having to pronounce her surname a couple times before I got it right, it's only 6 syllables cmon but it has a great meaning. Well done Folake very encouraged by your success.

    Talking drums are literally what they're called.
    In Yoruba culture, they're used to pass messages, to tell stories.... they are an integral part of our culture.

    Okay, I'm going to shamelessly say it, Folake sat right behind me in primary school, so I'm particularly proud of how far she has come. Massive congratulations to her! The only question I have for her is "what happened to your gorgeous long hair from childhood?". This girl had that Rapunzel kind of hair as a child. Wishing you greater strides.

      Right? That's insane that it's never happened before. But I'm freaking out hearing her speak without a full-on Nigerian accent! She has a lovely speaking voice, but to me, hearing a Nigerian accent is one of the most satisfying sounds ever. I think it's the aural equivalent of velvet: it's rich, smooth, regal, sumptuous, sexy. I remember many years ago telling a client who was from Lagos that I could just listen to her read the phone book. I think she thought I was weird. 😂
