‎ It's time to feed Lady Bird the giant Mbu puffer, as well as all the other animals in Cory's fish room (including the new buffalo head cichlids and a mystery fish he just got from Bob Steenfott). This might be the first time that he's fed Repashy gel food in this fish room, so find out which fish immediately took to it and which ones need some more time to get used to it. Repashy is like a fish food jello that sinks to the ground and stays very water stable for a long time, which is great for grazing animals that want to eat over a long period of time.

Thanks for sharing. You said something about starting this series to show build out of fish room not so much about things like dealing with algae, etc., but that’s actually super-helpful to see, is how you deal with things like that, and your running commentary always has these golden nuggets of hard-won experience. So thanks and enjoy finding that balance.

Appreciate the return to chatting in the fish room. I was a night manager of a LFS in high school and went on to having many tanks and ponds. Then at some point I got busy - went to college, law school, started and ran multiple companies, etc. I'm just beginning to return to my original love of keep fish. It's challenging to go back to DIY building a fish room rather then just "buying" everything I need, but it's wholesome and fulfilling experience. Now that I'm and old guy, 50, and trying to settle down a bit, it's amazing to get back into the hobby and this format helps to get my fishy juice flowing again. Appreciate the continued commitment to the hobby and cheers on all your success.

    As always, Great Content!
As for your sink, that is a food grade dishwashing set up.
I know the feeling that the hose is too high, and the hose/spring will break.
It won't, i promise. Gotta say, as you decide to change things, consider a more concave basin for your higher flow sink (if at all possible, run a double basin set up). Of course, its easiest to gravitate to flat bottomed for ease of use. Even so at the scale you are running, using one rounded/concave bottom (cleaning and such things requiring high pressure) and one flat (for all other purposes) will suit your purposes better.
Less spray and such, while also allowing you to Reaaallly crank up the water pressure to deep clean.
Plus, you'll still have the flat bottom sink for regular stuff.

That's a very good idea. Why is that tank always cloudy? If you put the water under a microscope will you see algae or little mineral particles? There could be a bad rock in there was my first thought. A rock or something in the substrate with clay in it would produce that effect.

I bet a lot more plants can deal with the algae - maybe decoratively hide plants in a blocked off area

I’m very curious what Cory’s PH is out of tap, GH and KH too. I see his tanks, and they have similar luck with my luck. And I’m limited because of how hard my water is

My Texas cichlid won’t eat food floating in front of his face 😢 but he picks around at the bottom ? Any idea why he feeds this way or why he has to let it sit on the bottom before he maybe eats it.

I'd guess not many have it yet, I had to import it myself, if it gets more popular I'm sure some other wholesalers and such will bring it in over the next year.

@@AquariumCoop I've done better with bamboo and vampire shrimp when I have slightly larger particles in the water. I'd definitely try it but probably take them out if they seem to only be going after food you add to the bottom. I look forward to your results!!

I thoroughly enjoy these type videos. Ladybird is such an active girl. Maybe the turtle was trying to climb up the glass and fell backwards.
Maybe on the cloudy tank, that particular light might be faulty or maybe something is leaching tannins or silicates?
Even though it is a lot of work, your fishroom is my dream.

Cloudy tank: try putting CO2 on it. I had the same problem, but after doing CO2, it went clear.
