    Everyone's #1 freshwater puffer is the pea puffer. For good reason though. I have one in a 5 gal tank. He, or she, devours all snails, blood worms, baby brine, and scuds that I put in there. Except 1 bladder snail. Full grown that is left alone. No idea why but if it's okay with the puffer, it's okay with me.

    • @FintasticFreaks
      @FintasticFreaks  3 года назад +2

      I'd say 5 peas should be fine for sure. Especially if you put some plants and decor to create multiple nooks and bits of territory.
      Depending on how much decor you put in your tank, I myself, would not put in any more than 6 or 7. Depending again on how many plants, rocks, driftwood, etc. you'd put in there.

    Kuhli Loaches, Sterbi Corys and Amazon puffers together?

    • @FintasticFreaks
      @FintasticFreaks  2 года назад

      Corys I'd personally advice against. Admittedly, I've never tried it myself, however I do know a couple folks who did and neither time or person had much success unfortunately.
      Loaches on the other hand could potentially work since loaches are more active swimmers (in my experiences anyway). Just to be safe I'd personally make sure there'd be a few places for the loaches to get away and hide in case the puffers get cranky.

    How can you reccomend the Amazon Puffer? Their beeks grow 1000 percent faster then any other. AND the wholesaler feeeds them bloodworms, so they are already spoiled and lazy. I had to trimm the beeks 3 times in 2 years. And I tried all the tricks in the book. They only ate white mosquito larvae , frozen artema and bloodworms. Even if I starved them... Maybe I just had badluck, but they also seem very unhappy unless you have a 5 feet tank, because they love to swim back and forth. I saw them in a 500 gallon once, they were 5 inches... Hate being that guy. Just educating. Not trolling. I am sure there are puffers you know better than me. Best Regards

    ik most puffers for freshwater r brackish. r all of these brackish?

    • @FintasticFreaks
      @FintasticFreaks  Год назад

      Nope. All these that mentioned in this video are 100% freshwater puffers. 👍In fact, salinity can actually harm most of these puffers on this list.
      However, there are some puffers I didn't mention like the green spotted puffers or figure 8 puffers often get sold as freshwater puffers, thus creating some confision, but are indeed better kept in brackish water for the long term.
