Im sorry but the entire Harlaquin list has invuln 4+ sure they dont shoot very well but if you get mobbed by a troup with a troop master go ahead and pull your unit off the table. Harlequins are BROKEN in melee. They absorb so many shots already. They definitely do not need dmg 2 or AP 2 anything, theyre broken
This has to be one of the most insane comments I’ve seen in a while. Anyone doing a bit of mathhammer can clearly see this is no where close to the truth.
@@ProxyHammer1 maybe on paper man, ive played alot of games against harlequins and the only way ive found to beat them is shooting them with as many shots as you can get. Aside from that 4+ invuln on all units is dirty. It makes AP useless. I agree with you that the Harlequins shooting is not good at all. But thats like being upset that blade guard or assualt interesscors are crap because they cant shoot. Your trading good shooting for a chance to save against literally anything thats shot to you.
Surely you mean a Troupe with Yvraine and The Visarch. That unit slaps, but only because of the 2 characters and is like 400pts+. The Troupe also have to make it into combat without being overwatched to death, or at least overwatched to uselessness. A unit of Troupe, with a Troupe Master (235pts), has (against a unit of Primaris Marines (160pts)): 54 Attacks 35 Hits 5-6 Dev Wounds and 17 Wounds @ -1ap 8 unsaved wounds + 6 Dev Wounds = 14 wounds = 7 dead Primaris Marines (112pts) (this is without them using AOC). 2 Primaris Marines and Sergeant attacking back (48pts) has: 10 Attacks 7 Hits 5 Wounds 3 unsaved wounds = 3 dead Harlequins (45pts) So, a unit that costs 235pts, kills APPROXIMATELY 112pts worth of Primaris marines, and then loses 45pts worth of harlequins in return. Your expensive unit is now trapped in combat with 3 Marines, who fall back to allow the boltguns attached to their numerous tanks, which don't normally have targets to kill the rest of your unit with ease. This is napkin math (and I havent accounted for the single re-roll for Eldar or the Troupe Master ability). However I've also gone with one of the most basic profiles in the game for the Troupe to attack. If you're targeting Plague Marines, Terminators, Grotesques, vehicles, Orks etc the Troupe just get even worse. Not to mention they are OC1, so if you fluff and dont kill 6 Marines on an objective, you dont even steal it off them. They suck. And need help BADLY. I think if you're finding them to be BROKEN, its either a you problem, or your opponent has some of their rules wrong.
As a Drukhari player, I am livid (aka paler than usual) that my datasheets were published first in another faction's codex for the sake of a single detachment that I can’t even play. I’m happy for the Aeldari players out there, but frankly, this is not good news for Drukhari players. It means that many of our datasheets will be locked in even before our codex is published. Some of those datasheets really could use some love, such as the Wyches, who hit less hard than Storm Guardians or Voidreavers. The only saving grace is that I am in so much pain right now that I must obviously be becoming more powerful.
You know honestly when our codex comes out those dark Eldar datasheets might work completely differently and have different points/rules that really only work in Ynnari. As a DE enthusiast and fan I do think your codex should be the next in line after Aeldari. You guys desperately need it.
@@ProxyHammer1 If you look at the Imperial Agent codex, some of the datasheets like the Battle Sisters differ slightly in their ability because they would be unusable otherwise. That said, the stats stay the same between both iteration and that is a bummer as DE stats could do with some love. Some DE datasheets are in need of a rework and I am afraid GW will not dedicate the resources for that.
I also hope that the Harlequins work equally well in both army books, not having the Aeldari faction keyword and then being very sub-par in a Drukhari army...
chances are the sheets are gonna work differently, ynnari play a lot differently than druhkari or aeldari. I get the anger but this was honestly the best thing to happen to ynnari and druhkari. This way druhkari doesnt get punished for the sins of ynnari and vise versus plus it wont be the whole army, itll only be the ynnari elligible units so we might not even get a court of the archon. Its gonna be great for ynnari too because the archon in the index does not work at all in ynnari like his datasheet just doesnt function because we dont have pain tokens
I play Veterans of the Long War (Black Legion) and I gotta admit I hate Abaddon's current rule design... His lore is pretty good though I think, despite the plot armour granted to everyone that comes face to face with him that is not a 1000 your old Sigismund. A 280 pts "glass cannon" with zero synergy with CSM Terminators... He's designed to optimally lead from the rear by granting re-rolls to vehicles, instead of being a proper warrior-king that leads from the front as in the lore. He should have had Feel No Pain in return for his Aura only working on Infantry, Mounted and Vehicles with the Walker keyword. The Veteran's Focus of Hatred should grant re-roll To wounds instead if the unit already has re-rolls to hit. That way Abaddon would have had a use with CSM terminators as well as "the Black Legion".
I don't use him for VotLW because of the anti synergy there but genuinely him being in a unit of Chosen are nearly unstoppable, there has not been a single unit that has survived that brick and I've used it against every type of unit you can think of.
@@oliverp3545 He hits pretty hard, although far less so than he used to in the index days, but even then I had him fumble the ball and fail to kill things like C'tan, Norn Emissaries, etc. The problem is that him + Chosen start at 405 pts combined for just 6 models, and while you have a good chance to get to strike first (especially in Raiders), I've found that more often than not Abaddon and his squad die very quickly when the opponent retaliates. Hard to reliably kill 405+ pts worth of enemies in most games before he bites the dust.
@@runeh3022 I was thinking 10, that brick has survived games whacking multiple bricks from my opponents, I can kill 2 DWK units and only lose half the squad, I can kill 2 units of Crisis Suits and only lose 7-8 by the end of the game, and they're so much of a problem when using durability boosters and just focusing down threats.
@@oliverp3545 fair enough. I've not had that much success with the big brick, as it tends to be very hard to keep hidden from shooting on a lot of maps. I play PH layouts though. The unit might be better on WTC terrain for example.
@runeh3022 yeah I always keep them in Rhinos because they're very easy to hide and provides a jumping off point for them to move on up, I usually have it hugging ruin walls and then it does actions whilst they threaten with a forward position.
@@BlueBirdGTV Ahhh I got ya! Ya very true Assman does seem dated but definitely newer than his predecessor. Honestly I think the PL designs are at least 4-5 years old if not 6-7.
Thoughts as I was listening to the video: Did you say "dark eldar in the book"? If that is the case, Ynnari might be limited to drukhari datasheets from the book, instead of Drukhari index/codex. I think that army might be limited to 1/4 of non-Asuyrani units (Drukhari, Harlequins and Corsairs), unless you have specific detachment - Corsair detachment for Corsairs, Harlequin detachment for 'quins and Ynnari for all of them together. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tyranids have two army rules - all units have one and some have the other. They can easily make two army rules, and just write one on some datasheets and the other on Harlequin datasheets. It might be a bit confusing tho if you have both on the table and use one army rule for some units and second army rule for other units. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would personally give warlocks Protect/Jinx - protect only on their unit and jinx on any within 12''. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My idea for Wraith detachment is that it gives different bonus depending on whenever unit has a Spiritseer or not. Like, +1 to hit for Wraith unit without spiritseer, and 6+++ for Wraith units with spiritseer. (using bonus from Bonesinger) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My guess is that Fire Dragons will need to get Falcon to get re-roll on flamer against infantry. (they will have rule only against vehicle + monster) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Or just give Falcon a bad ability, but make it equally cheaper - a cheap hull with a decent shooting, deep strike and transport for a small unit. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Abbadon's problem was that he stood in front of Cadia for a long time, until he was allowed to destroy it. He had one big goal - get past Cadia, and he was allowed everything, except that. If they made more space between Eye of Terror and Cadia, they could give him victores, and then have him pushed back again... He wouldn't destroy cadia, or terra, but he would have actual victories that push him toward victory. The Ynnari have the same problem right now - right now they are in the same position - they have the goal to kill Slaanesh, and I doubt that they are allowed to do that.

It’s also a bit of my problem with psychic in 10th in general. Non psykers just get abilities that work all the time. Psykers need a 2* for similar stuff? Really…?
I would absolutely love this!
I ques it will be just good codex but with 2d6+2 little nerf and d3 big nerf in first mounth
Ya probably
A unit of Troupe, with a Troupe Master (235pts), has (against a unit of Primaris Marines (160pts)):
54 Attacks
35 Hits
5-6 Dev Wounds and 17 Wounds @ -1ap
8 unsaved wounds + 6 Dev Wounds = 14 wounds = 7 dead Primaris Marines (112pts) (this is without them using AOC).
2 Primaris Marines and Sergeant attacking back (48pts) has:
10 Attacks
7 Hits
5 Wounds
3 unsaved wounds = 3 dead Harlequins (45pts)
So, a unit that costs 235pts, kills APPROXIMATELY 112pts worth of Primaris marines, and then loses 45pts worth of harlequins in return.
@ Exactly. Thanks for pointing that out very clearly 🙏
@@julientabulazero103 They really need too! I hope your new detachment in December is a good buff!
For the algorithm.
My Asur!! 😎
Love Aeldari but the styling of the exarchs seems a bit out dated
Well I mean I can see that GW didn’t want to completely redo their design
Oh I mean phoenix lords but you get what I mean. Asurmen mostly. LOVE baharoth
@@BlueBirdGTV Ahhh I got ya! Ya very true Assman does seem dated but definitely newer than his predecessor. Honestly I think the PL designs are at least 4-5 years old if not 6-7.
Having a "Best Codex" isn't good for the life of the game.
Best is a relative term I think. Best meaning coolest not the most OP or powerful
Thoughts as I was listening to the video:
Did you say "dark eldar in the book"? If that is the case, Ynnari might be limited to drukhari datasheets from the book, instead of Drukhari index/codex.
I think that army might be limited to 1/4 of non-Asuyrani units (Drukhari, Harlequins and Corsairs), unless you have specific detachment - Corsair detachment for Corsairs, Harlequin detachment for 'quins and Ynnari for all of them together.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tyranids have two army rules - all units have one and some have the other. They can easily make two army rules, and just write one on some datasheets and the other on Harlequin datasheets. It might be a bit confusing tho if you have both on the table and use one army rule for some units and second army rule for other units.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would personally give warlocks Protect/Jinx - protect only on their unit and jinx on any within 12''.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My idea for Wraith detachment is that it gives different bonus depending on whenever unit has a Spiritseer or not. Like, +1 to hit for Wraith unit without spiritseer, and 6+++ for Wraith units with spiritseer. (using bonus from Bonesinger)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My guess is that Fire Dragons will need to get Falcon to get re-roll on flamer against infantry. (they will have rule only against vehicle + monster)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Or just give Falcon a bad ability, but make it equally cheaper - a cheap hull with a decent shooting, deep strike and transport for a small unit.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abbadon's problem was that he stood in front of Cadia for a long time, until he was allowed to destroy it.
You might be right about detachment locked Ynnari! I hope not though because I want to have as many options as possible!
