Man I tore that sucka out and thought “there’s no way I’m doing this correctly!” Pulled up your video and had to laugh - you mangled it even worse than I did. :-) Thanks for posting this video; the manual only says to take the car to the dealer every 15k miles to have this done.
Removing the filter is harder than installing the filter on this model. Depending on how careful you are the filter may rip when removing it from the housing.
I got my filter today. With arrow pointing to the back of the car, the pull tab was on the top right, not the bottom right as shown in the video. Has there been a change? Please specify why my filter doesn't match the video. Thank you.
@@Aaron-im4og Thank you for informing us. Since it is a particulate filter it can be inserted facing either way. Majority of the time when remove this filter from a car the tab tends to break so having needle nose pliers helps with removing the filter. It is always a good idea to clean out any debris sitting in your filter housing after removing the filter. Using a shop vac can remove anything left behind.
If you're like me and like to avoid the urge to murder someone while working on a vehicle you'll take that extra 3 minutes to remove the glove compartment
Yea ok so I don’t feel like a moron. Even the guy demonstrating is having a hard time. If any Nissan engineer is reading this give yourself a pat on the back for making this the hardest air filter to change on the planet. 🤬

You're welcome!
I would also vacuum the extra debris inside the filter cavity before replacing the filter.
Yes we strong suggest doing this!
Replacing my air filters and cabin filters for the first time. Thank you
Glad to help
Which way is the flow ?
Is it as tough to get out without ripping as it looks? It looks to insert a new one easier.

So there is no need to remove the glove box?
Glovebox removal is not required for this installation. However, removing the glovebox may give you easier access to the housing location.
Any chance of leaving bits behind ??

Yes removing the glove compartment is a option to making it easier to access the filter housing.
Engineers always putting the simple stuff in the most difficult area. 😂
They really do!
Taking it out looks more difficult that putting a new one in.🤦♀️
Yes, Nissan could do a better job with the design.
