I am making my new granddaughter a blanket this would look beautiful but no disrespect or to make you feel bad but can you please do it in a light color because I have eye problems and can barely see but thank you so much for sharing
Bless your heart. Didn't anyone teach you to slip stitch across to avoid having all those dangling ends to work in later? Also, this is not a scalloped edging, it is a shell edging. Scallops are deeper.
This is the best vid I found on how to border, but sadly I can't really see what you're doing I'm learning and having a very hard time seeing what your doing as you're using a dark yarn 😢
very excellent, understandable video. I think I'll add it to my very first baby blanket edging. My only suggestion would be is to use a light colored yarn. It might be easier to see what you're doing as you move along. Thank you
Thank you for this tutorial. My coaster looks cute now. (It was supposed to be a square but ended up looking a little like a trapazoid, but the scalloped border helps hide that a bit ^_^)
After you'd done the first chain (border) in the dark colour, it would have been good if you'd then used a LIGHT coloured wool for the scalloped edge, so we could see it more clearly.
Worked out great. Thanks for the instructional video. (I made the scalloped border on my granny square scarf - looks great. I gave the scarf to my mother on Mother's Day 2017)
This was extremely helpful! I was looking for an easy border to go on my Tunisian crocheted blanket and this made it look awesome. Excellent job on explaining for a beginner like me.
I don't know of any way to attach the granny squares if they already have a border on them. I recommend adding the border after you've finished attaching all of the granny squares.
Hi, i've just started crocheting again and am making a baby blanket for some friends. I'd love to do a scalloped border on it, do you have to cut the yarn after you've made the initial base before starting on the actual scallop?? Couldn't you just start the scallop right where you ended the base?
+Caira MJ Sorry that this is very late, but yes. If you want to keep the same color of your baby blanket for the border then you can continue with the scalloped border as soon as you finish the blanket.
hi, I want to make a bigger border do I continue to scallop a second row,or is there a pattern for a larger scallop. thanks great to see people with the same interests
I'm not certain as I haven't tried either before. I would suggest looking for a larger scallop border pattern as I think that would be the simplest solution. You can do a second round of scallop but doing 1 large would be easier than 2 small rows for me personally
You are THE BEST teacher! I can very EASILY follow your instructions. thank you so much!!!!!!! you do beautiful work!

You should become a teacher! You're very good at teaching clearly!
Sorry but with it being black I can not see your count.
please do the edge in white colour so that is easy to understand , thankyou

Use lighter yarn
Please
Thanks for sharing. A lighter color making the shells would have been great. It was really hard to see.
You’re such a good teacher!! Just wish this wasn’t with dark yarn :( so hard to see!!
Thank you so much!! This helped me soooo much!! I was wondering how long have you been crocheting?? I am 14 and have been sense I was 6
+Danielle Clay I've been crocheting since I was about 9 :)

I hope your blanket turns out well and thank you for the feedback!
Very helpful but using light colored yarn on demonstration is much easier for your viewers to see.
This is beautiful 😍 just finished a whole granny square blanket for my boyfriend and needed a border that wasn't too complicated I love it
Thank you for this tutorial. My coaster looks cute now. (It was supposed to be a square but ended up looking a little like a trapazoid, but the scalloped border helps hide that a bit ^_^)
Can u share details of the yarn that you use ? The brand and the online link to purchase it ?
Love this border. Not too plain and not overly fancy. Made a beautiful edge to my rectangular granny square afghan.
Do you have a Facebook, Instagram or Twitter Page?
Cant see with dark yarn.
You can't see anything your doing to dark maybe white would have been better
I've always wondered how to make a scallop edge--thanks for this!
Thank you! That was really helpful :)
The yarn is too dark to see.
You explain this very easily! Thank you!

Maybe you should have used white it was hard to see with that dark yarn
Thank you so much for tutorial, pity it's on black 😢😢 I battle with very dark colors. ⚘
I wish it was done in lighter colour it would be easier to see.

You could do it with a treble crochet, that would make it bigger overall,
Great job 👍
thanks☺
You should NEVER use a dark yarn for demos.
Dolores Ungerleider agree☹️
You've got a great way of explaining this. Thank you :^)
