@@crochetwithlisa482 hi Lisa I’m looking for some help please. You do this so perfectly. Let’s say I create a piece and then I border the piece with single crochet all the way around with three in each corner. And then I want to do the scalloped edge. I struggle with getting that lined up properly. In other words when I get towards the corner, I’m off. Can you help me figure out what multiples of single crochets I should have along the sides of the project so that when I go to do the scalloped edge it lines up properly? I hope my question makes sense.
@@suniedaze8438If I get to the corner and my stitch count is off by one or two I will fudge it. When approaching the corner if you notice that you will be off by one stitch you can make that stitch up in one of the shells by just skipping one sc in the shell instead of two. If you are off by two stitches you can do this in another shell. It won’t be really noticeable. I hope this makes sense to you! 😊
After you finish the first color and fasten it off, you can pick any shell and begin with a sc in the middle dc of the shell with your new color. Then 5 dc in the next sc and 1 sc in the middle dc of the shell. Repeat this around, making sure to use larger shells for your corners so the corners can lie flat. Fasten off the second color and repeat this pattern for each new color. I hope this helps. 😊
@@crochetwithlisa482Excellent video and beautiful border. I've read your comments on adding more shells and tried it numerous times but it's not working out for me. If possible would you consider doing a video and showing how to do it. I learn better watching you. Thank you.
I have tried and tried to follow you but find it so hard to - I rewind over and over again cuz it’s hard to see what you are doing and go so very fast!! I guess you are just more geared toward more experienced people.
I figured it out. No it doesn’t require math just be mindful when you’re approaching the corners to figure out if you need to skip or decrease a stitch to fit nicely in that corner. I also just skipped one space not two between the shells and SCs. I like the look better. But I think her tutorial was very informative and my baby afghan has a beautiful shell border. Thank you!! 💕
Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you…this was exactly what I was looking for to border my blanket!!!❤
Thanks! Just used this crochet border on my shawl!! looks fantastic and really easy! -- thx
I’m so glad that you were able to use shells to finish off your shawl! I’m sure it looks beautiful. 😊

Hope to get lucky, I guess
oooh thanks for this! very helpful
What if you want to do several rows of shells around the blanket in different colors?

Could you add another shell on top
My question as well. I usually like a couple of rows

Tap the gear icon then change the playback speed to slower. 0.5
If we’re all starting at random places doesn’t it require math to figure out when you’re gonna hit that corner for the perfect corner shell?
