ASMR - Casino Mob Boss Roleplay (Mr Blue)

- Some of you will actually find this asmr roleplay quite relaxing! By some of course, I mean maybe 2 or 3 and the rest will be wondering why on earth I thought a heavy Scottish accent could relax anybody at all :D
This character first appeared in the Gentleman series, which was created by the incredible and inspiring @AtlasASMR Please do check out the series if you haven't seen it (And all of Atlas's videos!) but i'd imagine most of you will have by now and I hope you enjoy this slightly longer showing of the mob boss, suit fitter :D
• The Gentlemen
For absolute clarity, Mr Blue was a tailor in the gentleman series, I just decided to go full mob boss with him in this video for bants :D I had a few comments in the sugar dealer video about the blue yeti sort of distracting from the aesthetic because it's so large. This time, I ordered a lapel mic and had the x2 Rode mics, just outside the shot. Fingers crossed it sounds okay!
Finally, in this video, Mr Blue references his bouncer / door security "Juan Carlos" several times. I originally shot a 15 min scene of Juan Carlos assessing whether or not you deserve to get into Mr Blue's office. I actually cut this character out on the advice of a good friend, who thought me portraying a Spanish accent, might offend people. Of course my intentions had been absolutely nothing but relaxation and a nice sounding accent but the last thing I want to do is bring any kind of upset!

ASMR is essentially a made up acronym (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response ) used to describe that tingly / buzzing feeling you may have experienced in your head or running down your spine. The sensation can be triggered by personal attention, tutorials, sounds etc. If you are discovering "ASMR" videos for the first time, their primary purpose is just to relax and almost always to send the listener to sleep.

I'd like to think this is some sort of a prequel to The Gentlemen. Maybe back in the day Mr. Blue used to be involved a lot more directly with the gang's operations, even leading some personally, but ended up retiring after a while, focusing on suit fitting / tailoring as his new profession, providing his services to his old mates while still staing "outside the box", as he'd say.

The “Gentlemen” series has got to be the most original concept in the Asmr comunity hands down, everything from the aesthetics to the triggers themselves is properly set/done. Great job!

I watch a LOT of different ASMR creators with the usual tricks and triggers. They're great but they can't beat you. No bells and whistles, just amazing roleplay, acting, and insight. I feel like a lot is improvised too which is even more impressive 🤙

I love all your content but I have to say your acting in this one impressed me a lot. This character is different from many of the others I've seen you do and it makes me lose sight of the "you" that you normally portray. What I guess I'm saying is job well done!

@@ArticulateDesignASMR Oh no! That's a huge pain. Did you try changing the sample rate?
@@BeardedAudioASMR as in the project rate? Yeah they were both 48k. Apparently it's an issue with the zoom from what I've read. It wouldn't have been noticeable if I'd run the rodes and the lapel through the zoom i think, as they'd both drift together. I didn't immediately know how to record the rodes as stereo and the lapel as mono so I left the rodes in the 1818 :D
@@ArticulateDesignASMR that sounds to me like the one recorder was set to 48k and the other to 44.1k, but then I've never used your setup! I'd be happy to troubleshoot that for/with you next time and hopefully save you the time spent editing. All that said, fell asleep to this again last night!

In my defense, I, as myself, wanted to call Mr. Blue's bluff, and would have done so were I in my character's position. So I probably would have gotten the job.

This accent reminds me of the time I ordered my first drink while on holiday in Glasgow. For some stupid reason I thought beer and whiskey were the same.
Turns out I was wrong. Bartender got me what I ordered without explaining and I got an expensive education. The bright side is I knew I couldn't finish it so I had it divvied up to other glasses and a bunch of guys from Glasgow got a free drink due to my idiocy. We'll chalk it up to an international bonding moment.
Edit: for the record the holiday was a tour of the UK with a stop in Glasgow. Not just there only.
