- Welcome along to the Apothecary! Tonight we will attempt to brew one of the most deadly potions in the land :D I really quite enjoy filming these because I can dream up all sorts of stories as this kind of character. Obviously i'm making the whole thing up as I go along so if you notice any tiny inconsistencies, please accept my apologies :D I really don't have any notes or any kind of script, I just go wherever the character and props take me.
Oh as a side note, apologies for the auto focus! I forgot to turn AF back on after the Dubai video, so the focus for the first 10 mins is mostly on the props at the front of the shot, so i look a tiny bit blurred. I didn't think it was too bad though, hopefully you don't mind it either :D

ASMR is essentially a made up acronym (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response ) used to describe that tingly / buzzing feeling you may have experienced in your head or running down your spine. The sensation can be triggered by personal attention, tutorials, sounds etc. If you are discovering "ASMR" videos for the first time, their primary purpose is just to relax and almost always to send the listener to sleep.
I'm really bad at recognizing faces but this guy kind of reminds me of my Uber driver from a few nights ago.

@@ArticulateDesignASMR I actually haven’t been watching as much ASMR in general lately as I usually pass out by the time I’m ready for bed atm so when I do I go straight to these because I know they’re gonna hit the right spot! Always get a bit excited when I get an early night and know I’ve got one of your fantasy RPs to put on… still amazed at how good the story crafting in them is (especially knowing that you completely wing them every time as well 😂)… I’ve been reading the Name of the Wind series too so these are perfect after a good reading session! I hope they keep doing really well and you make more in the future 🧙🏻

Midnight alchemist is great. The background aesthetic is fantastic & the fire crackle sounds set the mood for a nice relaxing setting. Incredible work, definately one of my favorite budding series.

Thanks for such kind words Richard! I honestly feel like quite a lazy creator though, so many asmr creators put such loving time and effort into writing complex and well woven scripts. I feel like a bit of a charlatan in comparison but we are who we are i suppose haha. Lazy, but happily at least :D

I really enjoy the barber and salesmen videos you made but the alchemist will be always special to me. Not even completely sure why but loved the way you described ingridients and carefully, delicately mixed them. It might be the act of being delicate, being very careful. It implies a slower state of mind. Its relaxing.

Honestly I have absolutely no idea :D I don't prepare anything and I don't even have an outline of something before I hit record, I literally just bs it all! The only real inspiration I use, are names from video games and novels i've read because dreaming up names on the spot seems quite challenging for me and my brain grabs what it can remember i guess!

Love the storyline and acting but a couple of things - the camera's focused on the foreground objects rather than on you, Matt and it's a bit distracting (I'm being picky I know but hope you appreciate constructive feedback). And wouldn't mind a version without the fire crackling (or have the volume slightly lowered as it distracts from your soothing voice).
