The clarity is unbelievable. I thought the notes were getting cut in post production but that's just the resonance of the piano. Beautiful instrument that I can only dream of one day acquiring.
My grandfather always insisted that whether you were rich or poor it was good to have money. In this case, a lot of money and an apartment big enough for this behemoth.
Thinks: 'Now, exactly _how_ re we going to fit a 3.08 metre long piano into a 3.75 metres square room, whilst still having enough room for the stool and a competent pianist....?' Drooling with envy here, James! Thanks.
This guy has great style. I love the black leather jacket and jeans combo. It's a nice touch as we're used to seeing professional pianists dressed in formal attire. Not that there's anything wrong with the formal look, I quite like it too. It's nice to see a person with passion for these instruments. Pianos are beautiful in every conceivable way. From the way they're constructed, to the way they sound.
ThePianoforever I knew you did. The way you felt those last chords translated into the sounds. One can make that Ab dominant 7th on the Db pedal point linger for a long time...
The most expensive pianos in the World are made in Italy by a small firm called BORGATO. A Borgato grand piano has a price of well over a half a million USD. There was another excellent brand of pianos manufactured in Italy: TALLONE. Cesare Augusto Tallone was considered by YAMAHA the best piano manufacturer in the world and was sued to send its technicians to the small firm to try to learn ... some secrets. Obviosly TALLONE didn't produce hundreds of pianos each year, so finding a TALLONE today is quite hard...
Thanks, James! While I'm not a classical concert pianist (cabaret concert pianist), I can appreciate talent and you have it! I had a chance to play two fairly new Faziolis in Oakland, CA at Piedmont Piano Company. They have a 7-6 F228 and a 9-2 concert grand. I prefer the 7-6 grand and hope to record on it. Wow! Whatta great piano it is! All hand-made, no mass production. The 7-6 is best for me as I need a richer, deeper bass for show tunes, standards and movie themes. Looking forward to hearing/watching more of your performances!
I have been to Piedmont piano and the owner prefers me not to record his pianos (a very difficult man to understand). If you go in when the owner is not there, as I did for years you will have better luck. When I did videos in their store they would tell me customers would come from all over the west coast to see them. I presently drop in to DC pianos around the corner and they are quite nice and a couple of their pianos that I have recorded there have over 100,000 views, one with over 200,000 views as I remember. I would never buy a instrument from Piedmont as in the end any problems you might have you would need to deal with the owner. Dealers often ask me to visit their showrooms from all over the country, and go out of their way to make me feel welcome. This owner of Piedmont is just a very strange duck.
Terrific playing as always. This piano sound great but do you feel that the asking price of $224,600 is worth the extra $53,500 over a Steinway model D which lists at $171,100?
Sure, it has gold in it and the piano is longer. Moreover it has adjustable duplex scale plus the fourth pedal. And in my opinion, it is more beautiful than Steinway D.
Even thought I am just viewing the video and not touching the keyboard, I can somehow sense that the action is superb. Seems to have Renner beat all hollow, as they say.
Fazioli orders their actions from Renner, but it is Fazioli's design. I would say that as much as the action is well designed, the fact that it is so well regulated makes it truly wonderful to play. Regulation is a time consuming process that if well done can make a great action simply wonderful to play. Many sales people will tell you that with a few hours work they can make any action wonderful, but honestly you must have something very well designed to bring it anywhere near these standards.
I would say that at the present time the F308 (Fazioli King) is one of the greatest pianos ever built, but it is at this point that things get more difficult. One then needs to decide what the intended use would be, and what the sound desired should need to be. It is clearly up with the best of the best, and in many cases would be the perfect choice.
Thx James, my favourite Chopin's piece; also play it quite often:) Anyway would love to listen to some cantilena to be sure that's the piano I could have, cause despite the fact that i love my old Bechstein, it seems now too old and neglected and it doesnt pay off to put lots of money in restoring it. So, I just started thinking of a new one...Maybe Fazioli would be a good solution and compromise between the price and sound quality...Btw , you can listen to my old fellow on my channel, soon there will be much more to listen to. Interesting, what impression would you have...
I think I'd buy a house with less than 300 square feet just so I could own a Fazioli or Bosendorfer piano. Hey, some people buy cheaper homes so they can afford their dream cars. Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes we need to sacrifice a lot to hold out for what we want in the end.

What a joy to see and hear such a young man playing so beautifully.

Your playing brought a tear to my eye. You're amazing! Thank You James! Incredible that such beauty & workmanship still thrives in the 21st. century.
There are a lot fewer builders of pianos, but of those that are left there are three or four fantastic ones still producing legionary pianos.
Marvelous instrument. Great playing.
I really love your channel so much!
Thank you for coming by to visit.
OMG...that sound is wonderful!

The last few chords at the end really brings the astounding warmth and clarity of this piano. Thank you!
We thought the same thing!

Damned near perfect performance! Great work there and the piano is BEAUTIFUL!

E Borgato ha imparato a costruire pianoforti alla Fazioli.

@@ThePianoforever You do get around, James! Thanks for the reply.
Impressive piano! And impressive performance!
Judging by the smile on your face at the end, it must be a pretty awesome piano.
That was mystical.
Will you make a video about the harmonic pedal?
Yes, very soon.

HEY DUDE ! WHY DONT YOU TRY AND BE A CONCERT PIANIST?? YOU ARE BRAVO !!

Would you choose this over a Steinway and Sons model D or Bösendorfer Imperial 290?

@@ThePianoforever what your opinion about shigeru kawai sk 2 ?
The smaller Shigs are very inconsistent, and like to have buzzes and funny sounds. They're OK, but I have heard better small pianos.
@@ThePianoforever okay my second question is it possible to get silent system in the shigeru sk 2 ?
WOW! THE CROSS BETWEEN KHATIA BUNIATISHVILI & YUJA WANG 🤣🤣
I could tell you loved this piano...you played the shit out of it!!! 👍👍👍 Awesome find my friend.

Great! What the name of the composition you just played?
Fantaisie Impromptu by Chopin.

Have you tried a Stuart & Sons?
Can't find one here in the states.
Great. Please let me know where the nine Stuart & Son's pianos are in the USA, and I will find one I am able to play.
