- Good first run with the Max 6. Chipped a few teeth on the pinion, so the run was cut short. But another run is coming. Just need to put it together.

I bought my x-maxx used with a max 6 in it and the thing has run great the whole time. This is my first jump back into RC's in about 8 to 10 years. My last batch was nitro's and I'm loving the x-maxx just bought my son a brushed e-revo with intentions of it being able to grow with him and upgrade it to brushless eventually.
My GLRC parts are on the way I got wing mount,battery trays,his max6 esc mount. Can’t wait 👊
🤭😆😆😆 "BULL$HIT" Love it!! To True with "I Never have Broken a wing mount" I have seen pretty much EVERYONE change to a MAX6 ESC on this rig. The Copperheads look Great on it!! This rig Lands like a bucket of bolts, no lie. Maybe with some shock tuning, Maybe.... M2C is coming out with a chassis brace so that should help. I have seen a post for RC Dude81 installing a M2C motor mount with different gearing. That will be a "Test" to watch. I like your XRT & your upgrades so far. Traxxas ISN'T cheap $$$$ Stay safe and Bash on from Colorado!!!

It's really weird how we keep trying the same stuff back to back. I swear I just put the copperhead tires on my xrt yesterday and recorded a short test drive. Great minds think alike 🤣 I really liked them on there tho backflips might be even better. Keep up the stellar content brother. 😎 👍
Yeah I have considered giving the Backflip's a try next. But, I was very happy with the Copperhead's. I almost wish I had picked up a second set of those instead of the Duratrax.
I just installed my my MAX6 last night using Basherqueen’s carbon fiber ESC mount. It has a really nice fit & finish and it’s not rough/cheap looking like some of these 3D printed ones. It’s the best one on the market IMO. I will prolly ended up getting those battery trays though.
I have the TBQ mount coming also.
Might as well order a new pinion and spur gear. Those have been known to fail due to poor metal quality. I also have heard of the gearing inside the diffs are losing teeth.

Just installed HW Max5 g2. Very excited. I feel like I will eventually want to upgrade the motor but if not I’ll pull out the new max5 throw in a max6 and upgrade the motor just a bit. Not sure. I thought I’d have a little more power but I was taking it easy.
Great bash and definitely a great car. For your cables you need to zip tie the connector and they won't pop out so easy.
Looks so cold. I hate winter. But awesome upgrades

Is the wing mount in tpu?
Nice run, yup wing mount and pinion are junk and will break just from driving the car and not even crashing IMO.
It really makes you wonder how much testing goes into things. I know yours (and mine) broke very easily. Oh well, the Garage Life RC mount is holding up.

At the 18:03 mark when showing the center skid plate hole it looks like your chassis is cracked on both sides in the middle just outside of the skid plate

IC5’s can be an issue but i found that if i opened the bullets up ever so slightly they where very tight
Yeah, I find I am constantly doing that. I need to remember to open them up a little before each run.

Well you gave the ESC an honest try 👍 Unfortunately that 8s ESC just sucks. I have seen a few people use it in the Maxx on 6s with success, but that’s really it 🤷♂️ Really liked the power delivery now though 🤩🤩
No, unfortunately *all* Traxxas ESCs suck. The VXL4S being the worst

Are you having any problems with overheating? I am stock geared with the stock motor (with Max6) and no drivetrain binding. It would shut down and flash/blink green which i think is thermal/overheat protection. Any suggestions?

I really appreciate the video Jason! However, I don't know man..This is my frustration with Traxxas. If you keep it factory..good or decent right? Let me ask u this..When was the last time you've suggested using Xmaxx tires on a new rig? Bro you've replaced the esc, battery tray, a lot in YT with cracked bulk heads..That makes this a truck over $1,500 dollars! But it's only to run it at a nominal level. Traxxas should make a roller.

What punch setting are you using with the max 6?
Super late on watching these videos but I’m curious if some of the esc/ radio problems were from any overvoltage since you’re running lihv packs. At the end of the day that esc would need upgrading just curious if it would’ve lasted longer on standard lipos
Just installed hobbywing max 6 in my traxxas xrt and seems a lot slower now like it doesn’t have full throttle i used the calibration card for calibration
Any ideas does the 3 motor wires matter which way they go into the esc thank you
Calibration card? And motor wires don't matter since you can reverse the esc

I myself prefer the XRT. The X-Maxx is awesome. I just like the way the XRT handles more.

@@vitodambra72 had the opposite luck with my ERevo, two stock motors burned with one battery pack in each while the esc is still working fine 🤷🏻♂️

Wing mount and ESC are a must.
Certainly not a must.. All depends on how you drive and plan to bash this truck.

You can get the 24mm wheel nuts off eBay for around $40 shipped. Just look up xmaxx 24mm wheel nuts and you’ll see them immediately. It’s the ones that let you use the 1/5 axle sized hole wheels like off a kraton or outcast 8s or a Baja 5t etc.
Yes, just seach Ebay for "X-Maxx 24mm" and they will come up.

I know :(. Surprised, it's been holding up. I have ordered one. But nobody has them in stock right now.
Why not run the max 5
I like the max 6 since I am still using the stock motor. No reason to run a max 5 on the stock motor. Also, the max 6 fits perfect in the xmaxx and xrt.
