I just saw the word "created by Stephen Hillenburg" at the end of the intro. It should be "created by [insert creator's name], based on the characters by Stephen Hillenburg" I think the fans should stop using Stephen's name to justify the hatred towards spin-off series and give this man a break. Nick is maybe on the wrongs, but the fans added the fuel of salt.
1. This show's existence is a direct sleight at Stephen. The man went to his deathbed not wanting a spinoff and they did it anyways. People are outraged about it BECAUSE they're rather his life's work go to bed with him instead of being milked. 2. Once again, if that wasn't enough, they literally put "Created by Stephen Hillenburg" in the title card as if to save face. That is a striking lack of confidence from the people that made this pile of "meh". People are mad because Stephen isn't being left alone. I'm not saying you should be, but acting like they're in the wrong when they weren't the first ones to fire is pretty absurd.

Nickelodeon did it for the sake of profits but the fanbases are no better. Also, his "wish" about not wanting a spin-off was already two decades old considering that he said that in the interview during the release of the first Spongebob movie, so he probably changed his mind for a long time. Nickelodeon going to the well of CG animated spin off series, again, huh? Eh. The only gripe I have against the series isn't even against the series itself. I just personally don't want to keep seeing 2D animated getting replaced by 3D animated stuff. If Jay sounded like a boomer comparing the theme songs, then I must sound like a dinosaur. Who know? There may come a time when all cartoons are computer generated (Western and Eastern). I dunno. I always thought 2D had a certain charm to it.
Aw hell naw fuck that cgi just looks weird and will always look dated after a while. Mean while I can go watch something like Kim possible and for some reason it still looks good? Which is honestly surprising but also nice same for stuff like Johnny bravo 2D just doesn’t age.
I have the same opinion. The thing that angers me is that some people still see 2D animation as the equialent of black-white colors in TV instead of the equialent of fantasy or horror ( a type instead of an evolution era ). It's so stupid.

Overall the older episodes had much more effort, love, and care put into them, the jokes, the characters, the plots, almost everything. But our days of sponge bob are over, the new kids need him more than us, and I’m willing to except that.
@@bug8357 That doesn't make any sense! Since Squidward was a kid in the movie and even if it's a year later, he would still be a kid. Just a year older

"Tom and Jerry Show" is good, at least better than either of the movies till date. The showrunners obviously understood what made the classics work. "Kamp Koral," looks like it'll appeal to 5-year-olds.
Breaks my heart they made this show, and greenlit another.. the current showrunner even opens admitted his initial tweet defending it was wrong and he barely remembers the meeting with Stephen. But its been established, stephen was told of kamp koral, the entire cast and team met it with extreme hesitation until they were persuaded into giving it a chance. Stephen passed before seeing the final product but im going to take Paul's word fr hw Stephen would feel well over the current showrunners. They were far closer and worked closer together for much longer. I watched kamp koral and it was a mess. Choppy animation, things clipping into each other, character designs are horrible, scenes and humor dont translate well into 3d due to looks or timing even or just lazy writing and reuse of jokes from the main show. Some scenes make things stand out awkwardly from the rest of the scene. The lighting is often weird and improperly implemented into scenes. And as I mentioned before, a lot of jokes are reused from the main show and it feels lazily done. I know the current team is pretty much who writes for the mainshow, but this feel like a half assed effort by people who mostly werent into the project to begin with, and were essentially made to partake by contract. They were like, ok but im not gonna like it. That statement sums up how I feel about kamp koral. Greedy, sad, heartbreaking for fans such as myself who are massive fans of spongebob and hillenburgs legacy and history.. stephen hillenburg said it best himself, " i personally think its good to not go to the point were people dont wants to see your show anymore"
Alright dude, the first half of your comment is reasonable. Take Paul's word over the current team working on spongebob, fine by me. The other half is just you ripping the show with the nitpickiest of reasons and things so subjective, that you're practically grasping at straws to hate on it. I watched Kamp Koral, all 6 episodes of it, and I like it. I admit the first episode was weak, but it got significantly better in the 2nd episode. The animation is easy on the eyes. The writing has a distinctly faster pace than the main show. The jokes are consistent, and well spread-out. The 3D animation allows for more visual gags, which so far Kamp Koral succeeds at taking advantage of. All in all, I think Kamp Koral has enough charm of its own to carve out a separate identity from the main show. And you know what? I find it more entertaining than modern spongebob, including the ones Stephen Hillenburg came back to co-produce.
To be fair, the "Gross Up" is actually a staple of classic spongebob, however, they totally missed the mark on it here if that's what they were even attempting. For it to work it requires a brief, drastic change, whereas here they just zoom in on something disgusting that was already in frame.
Seeing this as a 2000's kid it's sad. I grew up after the good seasons, lived through the some what ok seasons, and now dealing with the bad seasons. Steven didn't want all these spin-offs but Nick is the big company who loves money.
The strange thing is, the animation seems fine and is honestly good but it looks more like the rendering is awful? The lighting and everything looks like someone took the sky model in C4D and rendered it as is, didn't change any settings or use any other lighting. Except maybe worse. 50% lighting, hard/harsh shadows and no settings? I mean, yeah, if you edited the settings it'd take a lot longer to make it with higher settings but (in my very limited experience) it gives a much higher quality look in the end. I've seen better lighting and rendering on commercials, lol.
One of the main problems with Kano Koral is the lighting and backgrounds along with the fact that the young characters are voiced by the same actors. Idk maybe I’m just salty...
Is no one gonna talk about the genius of the 2D animated show appearing in that episode? It solves the continuity error... Sandy DID meet SpongeBob in Tea at the Tree Dome, but SHE was the one who sent HER younger self to Kamp Koral to stop Plankton from getting the formula. That was genius and nobody’s talking about it.
Yeah. I just watched the ending clip where adult Sandy met her younger self via hologram device. So I'm actually glad that it takes place in the alternate universe.
I do want to call attention that Squidward taught Prehistoric sponge not Spongebob and it was future Squidward teaching a prehistoric sponge So this Squidward would have no knowledge of any of that
@@softvoicedboyfriend4031 I guess, only problem I recognize is that it doesn't bring anything new to the table. Sure, SB and his friends are younger, but he acts the same. The theme song is also very boring.
The show is underwhelming at best. Does it have potential? Yes. I'm seeing this as a whole separate universe where everyone grew up together, it helps. I do enjoy the references and how many side characters they use, plus baby Pesrl is adorable. Does it disrespect Stephen? Just a little, but it does continue his legacy, even if it may be done in poor taste to some. The animation is actually fairly decent, I love how it tries to act 2D.
Suggestion, could we all just agree that Kamp Koral isn't canon to the franchise? So basically we'll do the same as with the Star Wars sequels? Cool? Cool.
My question is why is sandy here ? Wasn't she a new to underwater life during the early version of spongebob? There's no way they've met before she moved to live in bikini bottom
Glad to hear that I was right to have zero expectations for this show. Actively hoping this show fails and gets forgotten about. No disrespect to the animators and what not, but this revival of aging down cartoons, like also Total Drama, needs to end. And this is regardless of what Stephen thought.

I cant imagine any of my legitimate complaints are nitpicking but go off. 🤣🤣
To be fair, the "Gross Up" is actually a staple of classic spongebob, however, they totally missed the mark on it here if that's what they were even attempting. For it to work it requires a brief, drastic change, whereas here they just zoom in on something disgusting that was already in frame.
