Johhny liking Panam is interesting to me. In one of the journal entries for the Aldecaldo quests (entries are written by Johnny), he says "That girl just doesnt know when to quit - and my God, I love her for it." Not only is it kinda shocking to see Johnny openly say he loves someone, given his overall cynical attitude towards most people in 2077, but it tells us why he likes her so much: she reminds him of himself, the whole "never give up" attitude. Which is interesting to think about, because Johnnys character arc throughout the game, if you try to get along with him, is about him realizing that sometimes you *should* give up, let go, that sometimes refusing to give up is just keeping yourself trapped in suffering. I wonder if his thoughts on Panam change to reflect that as the game goes along.
I think the "That girl just doesn't know when to quit" part is V because in the same paragraph you see "You don't seem to know either. I think we both know this isn't about the job anymore." Seems like both V and Johnny are having a back and forth here

@@snaggiz indeed, though the base game also does a good job of conveying it. the Johnny you first meet would never give up another chance at life, and he would waste it again in the same pointless fight. In most endings he gives that up to give V their life back, and even in the ending where he keeps the body, he still learns to give up the fight, and just try to live a life worth living
When I first heard him say that (Panam) I thought.. Ah...so that's how Rogue left. Rode off on her bike and left you. After seeing him meet up with her in Atlantis club tho... Oh, so she pointed her gun at you, threatened to shoot you in the face, THEN rode off on the bike, gotcha.
And Judy is Alt for him, because she got similar passion for tech, that's why he said 6/10, he's mad because he remind him about Alt. I was thinking that he was in love with a Rogue, but.. after PL I see this totaly different. He was totaly love in Alt. He kept indifference towards her for a long time, he masked feelings and.. defeat.
As much as I like Judy I gotta agree with Johnny here. Judy was kinda shelved by CDRP to be the character that tries to make a difference only for reality to crash down on them and realize that Night City will chew anyone up and spit them out no matter what you do. On top of that fact she gets alot of her goals conflicted after Evelyns death. First she wants payback on the ones who caused her death, completely forgets about the Voodoo Boys and just starts scapegoating from one bad person to the next in a downward spiral of revenge until she lets the momentum she is gaining from V's help get to her head making her think she can make a big change. Judy kinda gave me that sibling vibe no matter the gender option. Someone who is smart and nice when in the right mind, but is too gungho and controlled by their emotions. I can see why Johnny disapproves and likes Panam more. Panam well being hot headed can keep herself in line and is mostly only angered by those who cut her out or if its someone she truly does care about being as bullheaded as she can be. Panam is wiser and more controlled than Judy, at least in the sense that she won't snowball down a string of bad choices.
Spoilers: Why did she even need to focus on the voodoo boys? By the time you reach Woodman, ideally you met Alt and she purged the voodoo boys leadership. So Judy didn’t need to focus on the voodoo boys, your V should have done that already.
@@Alexwhatisit More spoilers: That's not necessarily the order of events, but even if you don't meet the Voodoo boys until afterwards I don't think Judy is made aware of the fact that what happened to Evelyn is partially due to the Voodoo boys (V doesn't necessarily learn it either). Even if she did, Judy was aware that Evelyn fucked with the Voodoo boys and was aware that they're not really people you want to mess with. After everything with Clouds, I think that even if she was harboring any animosity towards the Voodoo boys that she would have just dropped at as she decided she was tired of Night City and left it, and all its baggage, behind for good.
Witch leaves night city and keeps sending you her vlogs while V is desperately clinging to his life. Panam is a ride or die. Truly the best waifu even if her appearance is a meh
Panam was very well written. She's a strong woman who doesn't give up on her ideals or her personality to make everyone like her. I respected that. Sure I was annoyed when I was first introduced to her but she grew on me. I think her determination and ideals were so against the grain of what the world of Cyberpunk represents, it shocked me. She went to war for V without hesitation. Judy has a different kind of strength that I think Johnny grows to admire. However, Panam will do whatever it takes including all out war. I assume Johnny respects that kind of person.
@@Steven-tl8fs My time with her in the Basilisk begs to differ ;) Not to mention, she's willing to bring her whole family into danger for V. I need a person like that in my life and I ain't even care if I get to bang them or not. @@youngrootvThe issue here is that you can still thoroughly like someone, and still recognize their faults. Just because Johnny A. Says that and B. Calls her a 6/10 doesn't mean he can't actually like the girl. Panam and V is still more reflective of Alt and Johnny. Which is why I accept The Star as the true ending. You're fulfilling things Johnnt wishes he did, but didn't.
I agree, Judy will just ask you for help. Panam too, but she will also help you, and in your time of need she will not only come personally, she will bring a fucking army. Her family, wich she made you a part of. What a Woman.
Also, Panam WILL assist you if you need it. Meanwhile, Judy basically goes “you got this!”. It might also help that V and Panam are a lot alike. Both lost someone close to them (Scorpion/Jackie), both got betrayed by someone they trusted (Nash/Dex), both aren’t afraid to speak their minds, both are ambitious, both would do anything to protect their family, both are sometimes in over their heads (and aren’t afraid to admit it), both went on their own rescue missions (Saul/Evelyn), etc.
I think it's important to realise the context of Johnny speaking. This is a Male V so obviously he's not gonna be into the lesbian techie because he realises that Judy wouldn't be interested in Male V. If you are female V Johnny says something else about Judy - like the way she looks at you and how you feel mushy inside.
Exactly. I just finished Panam's questline as female V, and yeah, all the dialogue in this video's Panam clip just isn't there. V and Johnny share a brain, so he fully understands (if not shares) V's sexuality.
That whole cut-scene was just wrong. I honestly thought it was going to be a mission....and 20-something V hooks up w/50 something Meredith. Its almost like someone high up at CDPR said "I want a MILF sex scene....I dont care how you do it" lol
The female V has some alternate lines with these as well. I don't remember the Panam one, but for Judy Johnny says something along the lines of, "Don't lie to me, I can feel it too. You get all mushy inside when talking to her..."
It's so funny hearing how he switches up on them later too. Panam goes from this romantic option to ride into the sunset with to a "trailer-tugger" or something like that. Meanwhile Judy starts off as irritating and a 6/10, but also gets the most caring response from Johnny when V says they wanna call Judy
Noticed this too, talks about Panam and her “tarmac friends” if you choose the dialogue option in the elevator in the end. And I also called Judy in this ending and had Johnny react with the same fondness you experienced
that's only if you don't romance panam/play as female V. If you romance Panam, he says, "I know you and Panam have a thing, believe me I do. But that's why it's such a shitty idea. You don't want her to get involved in this"

its alot deeper than that, we seen from the story, and panam literally says that she becomes attached but not easily, but once she is, shes hard to get rid of. in her mind V was going for maybe a month? but she was gone for years, very long years that panam had to deal with and probably decided that its best to move on, even if V was alive there was no indication to panam that V would be coming back, to panam, V ghosted and left. Now once V came back, again, 2 years have passed, panam probably moved on and doesnt want to rekindle anything or meet V, she is probably dealing with emotional pain from that and feeling conflicted about V just popping back up. a example i can give that is sorta similar is if someone goes to prison when the are dating someone, do you expect that person to stay? even when they know that their partner would be back eventually? no, most people move on, because you dont live your life by waiting for others. basically, to her, shes the one that feels ghosted@@pree76

Makes sense why Johnny loves Panam but thinks Judy is just ''nice'' Panam is a wholehearted, passionate, rebellious warrior who refuses to be bent to authority. Takes action, has actual character and even though she's overly emotional, has a big character that cares for her friends and family and is willing to put her self out in the line for them. Wheras Judy is a passive aggresive, moody techno-gal who is much more calculated, doesn't put herself out in the front line, does not have that sort of a wild attachment and certainly is capable of moving on when V is absentee

Judy just needed someone to latch onto, someone to fill the void. Any pretty female with a pulse would have done the job for her. This is evident in the new DLC ending.
@@TheStraightestWhitest yup. Within 2 years, she has found herself a new girl that she ended up marrying. I can understand finding a new gf, but already married? But this again ties into the fact that the developers want to fuck over V hard.

I would rate Judy higher than Panam but for male V, it's in terms of friendship. Judy seems better as a friend and Panam seems better as a girlfriend. I don't know how to perfectly explain that sentiment.
Wow, what are you Huffing? Liara & Tali from Mass Effect, Cassandra, Morrigan, Sarah From Dragon Age just to name a few are better Female characters than Panam. Panam is a motorcycle riding dumpster fire. Judy is naive but at least smart enough to know she can't do everything on her own. Which is more than I can say about "PITA-nam"
i like panam but she just plain isn't the best NPC femme protag, hell she shares a game with another that i much prefer: but judy ain't either for that throne to be claimed a truly astounding character has to be written, something like Klaasje from Disco Elysium but more focused on for a longer period of time. Kreia from KOTOR2 would probably be my choice as of right now, but honestly chances are I havent even played the right game yet
I personally think it is because he is comparing them to his former girlfriends, in so far as any women get that close to him. Judy is basically a lesser Alt, brilliant at what she does but compared to the greatest netrunner since Rache? 6 outta 10. Panam is a lesser Rogue, but stacks up better. Hot headed, and brash but can get shit done. That isn't to say I agree with his rankings, just that I think I see where he gets the opinion.
Honestly I agree with Johnny on this one 100% Don't get me wrong, I actually like Judy. She nice, but she not really my type. But Panam is just "too" good for V (or for anyone really). Sure she's impulsive, but at least she's honest and I'm okay with that she loud, pretty much screaming as long it means she cares. Idk what to say other than Panam is pretty much describing my dream girl
I started out as a big Judy fan; I think it was the voice (and she's kinda cute). But then I met Panam and the contest was over 😘 (plus Judy didn't want male V anyway)
Panam's probably my favorite character in the cast. I also think maybe Johnny sees either Rogue or Alt in her and that's why he says what he says. Interestingly, too, if you look at Panam and Rogue's profiles in your journal, they have the same stance, and expression. Not that, that necessarily means anything significant. But it is interesting. And they're both clearly tough chicks that don't take any nonsense.
I always chase npc's, like Songbird when she hops in the rented ride. They never go anywhere as far as I've found -- most of the time they go some distance and just stop in the road, if not just disappearing randomly. Real bummer.
i tried following Judy after leaving the megatower. she drove in her van, until she reached the oil fields, she proceeded to exit the town, and i couldn't follow her, the game simply threw me back stating there was nothing for me out there, but judy kept driving.
After playing phantom liberty Judy, without a shadow of a doubt, is not best girl. Panam is best girl, do you know why? Its because she has the best ending, has a family youre welcome to so you're never alone, she is also a strong independent woman. Oh and loyal to you!
I mean, they both move on in their own ways, as probably most people would after a short relationship with someone who then disappears for an unknown period of time. So really, their reactions are both just realistic and I can't blame either, if even if sucks for V, of course.
Sad I can't Romance Judy as Male V. And I know people are gonna say "She's a Lesbian" original the Romanceable Characters were meant to be romanced by both a Male & Female V. They literally made the voicelines and everything. Like come on CDPR. Let me Romance Panam as Female V & Romance Judy as Male V. That's just fair.

Spoilers:
Why did she even need to focus on the voodoo boys? By the time you reach Woodman, ideally you met Alt and she purged the voodoo boys leadership. So Judy didn’t need to focus on the voodoo boys, your V should have done that already.
@@Alexwhatisit More spoilers:
That's not necessarily the order of events, but even if you don't meet the Voodoo boys until afterwards I don't think Judy is made aware of the fact that what happened to Evelyn is partially due to the Voodoo boys (V doesn't necessarily learn it either).
And Panam is a childish, toxic, selfish person with an insufferable personality.
If you get the Star ending Judy and romance judy, she'll will actually leave Night city with you.
Panam was not for V. She used V and friend zone till the end.
@@Steven-tl8fs by your logic Judy uses V too to save Evelyn and free the Clouds. Also at least Panam doesn't get passed around
@@Steven-tl8fs My time with her in the Basilisk begs to differ ;)
Not to mention, she's willing to bring her whole family into danger for V.
I need a person like that in my life and I ain't even care if I get to bang them or not.
It's hard enough to find a person who is willing to take a bullet for you, but it's even harder to find a person who willing to put everyone they love at death's door for you.
I think Judy is really underbaked here.
Cute girl but not waifu material
@@Steven-tl8fsJudy also uses v so I mean and heck there's a line for female v when you're swimming with judy saying I don't want to swim with some rando, but if you play as male v in vanilla, she doesn't say that to you when your diving with her so basically that means to me, you're just some rando you just met and basically she used you.
@@narutomaster500Slaps hard when she is so chill with female V yet so repulsive with male V in that scene underwater.
If you do Judy's quest line you will know johnny does not like Judy "she's the type to jump out the window and is surprise when she gets hurt"
Yeah but if you get up to the last mission and call her, he actually says that he genuinely likes Judy
You mean like Johnny himself? A lot of the stuff he went through can be attributed to him rushing in without thinking shit through.
Yeah Johnny would never go through with a half baked plan that would get him and his allies killed. 😂
@@RayTheomoright? The guy literally rushed down arasaka tower the same day his ex got kidnapped with like only 3 people
@@youngrootvThe issue here is that you can still thoroughly like someone, and still recognize their faults.
Every time V bangs a girl
Johnny: 1000 yard stare
One can't take out Tyger Claws the other helps you smash Arasaka, the choice is obvious
A true man of culture.
Yep, was about to say that. Panam also is more like Johnny than Judy is, so I guess that makes her more likeable to him anyway.
But that's johnny's comment about female V. Not Judy/Panam. You can egg on two people and still feel they're a 6/10.
Good, Judy on top, everyone is so obsessed with Panam but yet Judy always took my attention more, lovely to know that
Remember bois. Meredith Stout.
That whole cut-scene was just wrong. I honestly thought it was going to be a mission....and 20-something V hooks up w/50 something Meredith. Its almost like someone high up at CDPR said "I want a MILF sex scene....I dont care how you do it" lol
@@rxdawg75 🤣And you can see how popular she is so I think they knew what they were doing
I mean, if you're into CBT.. you do you, man. I'll stick with team Rita.

The female V has some alternate lines with these as well. I don't remember the Panam one, but for Judy Johnny says something along the lines of, "Don't lie to me, I can feel it too. You get all mushy inside when talking to her..."
*"And the way she looks at you too V"*
You don't want her to get involved in this"
@@lodivt you can change parameters/use mods and get with Judy as Male V. Made for an interesting play through to have Panam and Judy as my character’s love interests.

Definitely
What is the new ending have to do with this ? Can you explain please?
@@Alzahrani.7-TR CDPR assassinated her character lmao. She gets mad and ghosts you because you went in a coma you couldn't control
its alot deeper than that, we seen from the story, and panam literally says that she becomes attached but not easily, but once she is, shes hard to get rid of. in her mind V was going for maybe a month? but she was gone for years, very long years that panam had to deal with and probably decided that its best to move on, even if V was alive there was no indication to panam that V would be coming back, to panam, V ghosted and left.
Judy felt more like a sister then a romance option
True love is not about feelings
seeing as she's a lesbian and the video is male v... that checks out lol. it's a completely different line with a female v

Reed is sick and fucking tired of all the spy shenanigans. It's something he's comfortable with, but it's numbed him to the point that nothing iin his life has meaning. He's desperately holding on to the potential that he can save Songbird - someone that reminds him of a time in his life where things made sense and he had a purpose beyond being a tool. Panam is a wholehearted, passionate, rebellious warrior who refuses to be bent to authority.
I’m not sure what Johnny’s deal is regarding Judy. Later on Johnny has an outburst about her and V suggests it’s because she reminds him of Alt

The Dialogue from Johnny is different if you are Fem V. He just says "You two have a thing for each other, it makes you all mushy inside"
