Chris is more happier finding change in the glove compartment than he is making a massive profit on a sale of a car 😂
😂😂😂
Sometimes it's the little things in life we love best!
The timing of the comment - fair few quid in it - and Chris finding change is perfect😅
Whot happens too audie a4
Is there a nother video on this car
Rob: 'It's gonna be a fair, fair few quid to repair it' 🤔
Chris: 'There's a fair few quid in it. That's a result!' 😂🤣😂
You guys are top quality. Love it. 😁👍
That's a stern lesson about insurance companies - they don't give anything away, and if there's a reason to wriggle out of a claim, they'll find it.
Exactly the same happened to me in the 70’s I learned the hard way too!
Just checked a couple of the main insurance companies terms and conditions, and you need to tell them only at renewal if you get points throughout the year (unless it’s a ban in which case you won’t be driving anyway!). Great video and well worth highlighting that you need to be 100% honest when applying for insurance and at renewal.
Hi Chris and Rob, being a long time subscriber and watching all your videos, you inspired me to repair my car and my son’s car after he ran into the back of me driving home after I had driven him to collect it when he bought it , I know..long story…funny when you hear it , but not for us . Anyway, managed to source all parts in colour and repaired them ourselves. Many thanks to you guy’s for the inspiration.
I would do your usual research for parts and prices. if things are not available yet then just store the car until the parts are available. You haven't lost anything by waiting a while Gents. I am so pleased you have got the new jig installed it will be great. It is worth trying it out where it is before you dig a hole then there can't be any doubt about the placement. Really interesting video Rob and Chris thank you once again. 👍👍
i did a 2018 s5 with similar front end damage (i was really lucky that the engine still ran), it would have tripped the battery pyrotechnic, which you can bypass by jumping from the under bonnet jump points, the bonnet charges will have gone off too, i changed the chassis leg (bought from audi not too expensive) all the engine mounts will be dead, as well as the gearbox mount (all ali and crack) good luck guys and i look forward to watching the re-build
Scissor lifts - be careful. You need to be very sure you are safe if there is a collapse, auto manufacturers are paranoid about having scissor lifts in their factories, the safety requirements are pretty well documented.
As someone with 20 years insurance experience, that has astonished me. Way too harsh. For general advice that might be of use to people who read this - it is called ‘non disclosure of a material fact’. So if anything changes, like address, occupation, new points - disclose it, to protect yourself. That goes for all insurance products
I'd imagine any future premiums for insurance will go throu the roof also as the claimant will be seen as an insurance risk.
@@C4mmy31 there is a standard question, ‘have you ever had insurance cancelled or declined’ and if the owner disclosed that their previous insurer did this…..I think they would receive a sympathetic, surprised response..
I’d say the toast and non toast scenario is about 50/50, Rob. It could be the difference between burnt and black or just a very light brown.
Piece of cake for you and Chris
Steady on there with the mood music and video sweeps. Your getting more Speilberg all the time. 😍😍😎😎
Your Tip on letting insurance companies know ASAP. Just read my policy and sugar, it's really, really real.
Whilst I should have known, I now do! That's worth a couple of coffees.
Thanks Steve much appreciated
For someone like me who is far removed from this nature of work, I love the way you take time to explain various tasks and kit. My field is mainframe systems and IT infrastructure, but am fascinated by what you guys do. Brilliant 👍
Can't wait to see you going to use the new equipment. Always love the video's guys . And nice audi btw. Greetings from the Netherlands 👌🏻💪🏻
Nice Audi A4. Loads of parts available as the B9 platform has been out since 2017. That is a B9.5 so the face lifted model but still plenty available since 2019.
Failure to pay out because the driver didn’t declare points obtained mid policy is abhorrent behaviour from the insurer
If you don't fit the new jig into the floor, then a future use for it could be when repairing an EV it could be moved under your post lift to lower a battery pack, just a suggestion.
Well can you imagine my disappointment when you looked over for the new bit of kit and I thought a new clock!! but no dam lifting gear instead. 🤣Lovely bit of kit though..What a great project the Audi will be. Cheers guys.
Good video , this one in particular… the car popped in all the right places to protect the occupants, in my opinion. Made me chuckle when Chris found the cash . Good luck with the repair! Men !
Hi Rob & Chris, looking forward to seeing the Audi put back together, and your new ramp/gig in operation.
Great bit of salvage lads cant wait to see the finished article.keep up the good work ❤
Glad to see your channel growing, I haven't watched a video in a while but glad to see the growth you deserve it :)
Good evening Rob and Chris, nice looking car, hope you can fix it. Well done Chris on the £2 coin find!!! Your new bit of kit will save you a lot of time. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged.
Lovely bit of salvage. Feel sorry for the guy that sold it to you. This will make a fascinating rebuild. The dozer looks like a great bit of kit. Funny in a way you get the A4 the same day the kit arrives to sort it. Well done Guys.
Interesting day for Chris...joy at seeing the dozer arrive, serious interest in the A4, but one thing made his day....couple of quid in the centre console.....
Cheers, Bob
Another great video guys. Thats a lovely A4 hope use can fix it👍Sorry Rob more❤ for Chris new lift looks great cant wait to see the master at work with it!!!
That’s good advice about declaring points as soon as possible and not waiting for the renewal.
I had a driver awareness course 10 years ago. I knew it was coming up so I told my insurance company at renewal time, they said that they couldn’t record it then and wouod have to wait until I actually went on the course several months later.
Great buy guys and look forward to the new bit of kit being used, Chris looks like the cat who got the cream. All,power to you both. 👍👍👍👍👍
Fantastic buy guys, what an absolute beautiful car, hope you do get to repair it.
Chris that is a cracking piece of kit !! Hope it serves its purpose well.
Nice car Rob and Chris. Hope that engine is okay for you both. Chris was really happy with the new jig and more importantly the change left in the audi . Happy days. Another great video from you both as usual.
The Audi will be nice when finished. As a panel beater in the seventies we had a cellette jig. Then we added a Caroliner which was similar equipment to yours but every car had its own set of brackets which we had to hire. Nice little earner. I can see Chris having hours of fun with his "new toy". Good video as usual.
Excellent video, the new lift / jig system looks great. Audi is going to be very expensive to repair but what a motor!
That monster engine bay made my face contort for nearly the whole video in a strange half smile mixed with open mouth horror...and nearly a tear!
Good luck guys, and nice ramp.
Love it we’ll done Chris for finding the cash no surprise there 😂😂wow that has taken hit love the new bit of kit looks amazing and will massively help be good to see it up and running and being used well done guys 👍🏽👍🏽
Don’t sink the new bed, you’ll struggle to fit the pads when you what to lift low and sometimes normal height cars. You’ll end up lifting the car on the bed. Maybe half sink but don’t have it flush with the floor.
It's a nice looking car , I recon more 5 to 7 k on the parts , still well worth it , if anyone can repair it it's you two , good luck with looking for the Spares Rob , 👍👍
Chris is like a kid in a toy store with his new bit of kit. I really think before you start stripping the Audi, I'd get a bar on the crank and try and turn it over making sure the belt hasn't jumped and smashed a few valves. Hope you've got deep pockets boys!! 😎👍🏍
Hope you paid for the young lads lunch😁
9:47 that mark on the rear is the exact same as the mark i had on a car i bought from Copart, it's from them lifting it up with the forks and it rubbing. My car didn't have them marks in the pictures but did when it was delivered by Copart... 👍
One big summer Xmas present for Chris judging by his face, thanks guys great video and love the shorts rob 😊😊😊😊😊
100% best channel on RUclips. Keep up the good work lads 👍🏻
Brilliant video really looking forward to the next one and let Chris play with the toy really looking forward to seeing it
Well done guy's hoping you're going to repair this one 👍
Penalty points
If you or any named driver get a fixed penalty or motoring conviction during your policy term you must tell your insurer at renewal.
However, if you're banned from driving for any reason, you must tell your insurer immediately as they may need to cancel your insurance. If you don't tell your insurer, your insurance may be invalid and any claims on your policy may be rejected.
Nice car, but can't wait to see the lift/jig in action Chris & Rob...............lol. Have a great week guys.👍
Nice bit of kit that new lift/jig. Just one scenario compared to your old setup: Copart fork a car onto your truck because it won't roll, old setup you could use the 2 post lift to get it off the truck and down onto the jig. How would you do that now?
Well done lads! Great to see your business is growing successfully. You deserve everything you strive for. All the very best for the future. Best regards.
What a useful bit of kit, can’t wait to see it in action, good luck with the Audi 👍
Can't wait to see the new jig in action - bet Chris is chomping at the bit🙂 That A4 looks pretty wrecked but then hitting a bigish beast like an F Pace at 40mph will do that! From what little I know about Audi parts prices they seem to be silly money so repairing the A4 won't be cheap! Would be great to see you guys repair it though and maybe Chris can get to play with his frame machine😃
Well done, Rob. Always strap all four corners. Better safe than sorry . What a brilliant project. That will test yours and Chris's skills.
The new equipment and the car are very impressive Chris is happy 😅😊 good video Rob
I loved it with the music and showing round the car, well good rob.chris u will need that cash for the expensive parts as rob always says lol.lift is ace you both deserve the good things.great video guys
What happens with them is when they get hit in the front quite hard the gearbox mounting snaps off resulting in the long bolt shearing off on the gearbox casing
Lovely late bit of salvage, need to pull it apart enough to see if the motor is trashed, either way your in the money, love the new dozer kit be great to see it in operation 😉
Hello Rob and Chris, nice project to rebuild,it has a hard front bump.the new lift looks a tidy bit of kit.
Haha - Chris and Rob are so good at this now, I was looking at the car and thinking - ah this one's going to be easy 🙂 We'll see.......
Congratulations on the new Jig! Beautiful piece of kit. I hope to have one myself one day.
Chris you are quality I watch you gues religiously for years!!!
We know you’ll turn this around and make money on it. Looks like a nice motor. Love the new lift/ puller. Can’t wait to see it in action.
Nice car and fantastic ramp/jig 😊good video 😊thank you
Chris is the tinker Rob is the soldier The magpie comes out to play and he scored. nice one crack on
Just one more upgrade for the workshop please lads, get a battery for that clock on the wall 😂
We don’t use the clock
Intro
"A friend of mine, somebody I know", Love it that you know your friends 🙂
How did the driveshaft and new shocks perform?
Crazy how the enthusiam went from, 'let's get it in the workshop' to digging out the garage floor out for the new toy. Enthusiam never waned from 100% though.
40 TDI quattro is a two litre? Well I never.
I'll send coffee for the insurance tip.
Nice piece of kit mate... safety boots . It's a trip hazard... Great show lads 👍👍
Cracking motor hopefully not a kings ransom for all the parts. And that new jig setup looks awesome can’t wait to see you guys using it
This go be a brilliant one. One of the best cars you’ll have had on the channel by time is done. Bet it’s not cheap though. Would love to see some still shots before and after by the time is done.
Good advice there guys, declare your points !! Damage looks daunting.. This will be a project and a half !
Hope you drop on the bits for the Audi.
Love the new jig. Won’t be long before you’ve both mastered it👍
You keep banging on about Car Vertical, but this Audi isn’t highlighted as being damaged, seems a bit pointless.
its called sponsorship
Rob did say it hadn't been declared an insurance total loss as the insurance kicked the claim out.... But also it wouldn't show up as accident if the insurance had paid for a repair to be carried out. It'll only show up on accidents if the insurance paid out and categorised (S or N) the car 👍
Agree. I know it's sponsorship but I think I'd be trying to only show a search when something will actually come up. Doing it on an unrecorded car only prooves the point that even checking can be a total waste of time & money when it comes to damage. Yes, it would still show any outstanding finance or stolen marks (you'd hope) but damage is easiest to cover up.
Hello Chris and Rob, always amusing to see Chris rooting for any loose change, just wondering if he has a jar for the shrapnel?? This car is going to be a real challenge, but could be a great money spinner for you both. What a tremendous peice of equipment for the workshop, looking forward to seeing the unit being used. Best wishes from Lincolnshire
Apart from the engine damage that may be an unknown
The panel damage to me looks quite superficial
I think this a good one can’t wait to see you guys work your magic on it 👍👍👍
Absolute legends, good to see you!
Hi Rob n Chris, you do great work, he finished vehicles wow fantastic attention to detail. Chris you are a legend. Absolutely top work on an amazing number of cars and SUV's. Rob, am only new here, am in Australia these days, Do you have any merchandise. Its autumn downunder and a hoodie would be great. Cheers Roger, Melbourne Australia
Such a lovely car, looking forward to seeing this series.
Quick idea for you, in my old workshop, I had a cheap mains powered winch/scaffolders hoist bolted to the floor under the workbench at the back of the bay. It makes dragging none-runners in so much easier.
Funny you say that,I've had an unused winch off my old truck for 13 years now and have never gotten round to bolting it at the top of the workshop so on this occasion I'm going to be the gunner and I hate gunners😂
Nice bit of kit, can’t wait for another boat video 👍👍👍
Looks like a nice car with a lot of repairs to do. The new lift and puller also looks good. Be interested in seeing it in action soon.
Looks a big job this time fellas 🤔 nice to see Chris getting some loose change, I sure you 2 will have it looking like a million dollars 💵. When it's done take care and stay lucky and healthy looking forward to seeing this one soon.
It’s a shame you didn’t look at the Car-O-Liner Speed. It’s basically the same as you have but from what I’ve seen in your videos the Speed system is easier, quicker and a bit more flexible. Looking forward to seeing how it work in anger.
I’m sure “all will be resolved when you get involved “... can’t wait to see the SRUK boffins work their magic👍👍
Robs getting good at this presenting lark 😅just about word perfect outro 😊
Rob and Chris will do a great job on the car brilliant video all way
Good weekends work for Chris, possibly with a few hours OT
Thanks again lads
Good luck guys waiting for repairs video on this car..cheers
Great video guys, thanks for telling me about the points on the licence😬😬🙏🙏
This Audi is going to be expensive, Best of luck with it, Love the new jig.

Thanks for that insurance information, I never knew 3 points would have been a problem. Lovely bit of salvage
Hi 👋🏻 Rob. Chris got some loose change making him very happy 😊 Audi looks bad but hopefully Chris will get that on his new toy 🤣 Think sinking it into the floor is a great call guys 👍🏻
I think if you can keep the repair work on the Audi down to around £10k then there’s good money to be made out of it,congrats on the new equipment, flush scissor lifts are a game changer👍😉💪
Hi rob and Chris, i thought it was funny when Chris said it not to bad, great warning about the lights. From marty in Belfast northern Ireland God bless
