This is my comfort show. Ironically Les was probably miserable during a lot of the filming but I learned so much. I doubt I could ever do as well as he does, but if it came to it, I have ideas on priorities to survive.
this is the same for me. He's a great narrorator and host, and I would at least know some priorities to focus on if I found myself in some deep s***
It remains one of the most impressive shows while being filmed and created from a beautifully humble perspective. He’s the most bad ass human and yet I’d say most of us would love to have a drink with him.
No. If you watch the directors commentary, he explains that he never spent a night out there. They can even use camera tricks to make it look dark in broad daylight. Hes explained how he always gies to hotel at the end of the day. And 90% of the shots are of a stuntman and the other 10% is cgi. Les has never left his living room in canada. Pretty amazing feat, i have to say.
Been watching since 2004. I binge watch to this day
@@Sundog0811 You state he "goes to a hotel at the end of the day" and also state "he has never left his living room". These are contradictory statements; clearly one of these statements is a lie.
While both in high school my brother and I would always stay up late in the living room and watch Survivorman whenever we could. To this day we still think Les is the best bushman in the world!
Hard to believe it's been 14 years since the video came out....
I remember it like it was yesterday
Not only the knowledge, but the wisdom that Les always shares, is very satisfying
Not to be a mega bummer, Les, but my father has lewy body dementia and watching your channel has been an invaluable trip down memory lane. You’ve always reminded me of my dad in certain ways, and we shared a love of your shows. Your channel and commentaries have helped me feel reconnected with a piece of him I can’t get back. So thank you ❤ much love to you and yours
Best of luck, to you buddy, and best wishes to you father.
This was my whole childhood. Fr I love this man's work, such a chill dude
Great area to do a survivorman ep. No deadly animals or insects… no harsh conditions like heavy sun. This is pure survival 110 percent with lots of camera and lots of finding ways to spend time
Literally the best survival show that's ever been put out.
A couple of times a year, my wife gets tired of my yelling the theme song. Time for the 1st Survivorman marathon this year.
I’d like to see Les back on Joe Rogan again just because he deserves a new generation of attention and just to see what he’s been up to!!!
I love this show. It's like comfort food lol I can always watch these shows
Wow, this was my favorite episode ever as a teenager. I remember this episode in particular because the ending scene is so iconic. The only place where Les was content with staying out for a few more days, the big feast and of course the rats. Early 00s on the discovery channel were the golden age of television
Love this episode of the Cook Islands & the Outback episode! Thanks for showing these again! 😎👍🔥
When my hubby and I got married over 20 years ago, Survivorman was our show! LOVE to watch him to this day.
Could tell he was proud of the new tattoo in this one lol love it
Bear Gryll's would never put all his content up for free on youtube!!! Really shows where your heart is at Les.
Les, you’re a beautiful soul. I love your content and the lessons you try to impart. Survivorman and The Wild Harvest is some of the most underrated content on RUclips. ❤❤❤❤
Use to get so hyoed when this would come on . As a kid I probably watched every season atleast 4 times
I wish this show was heavily monetized because I would not have a problem with ads if it all went to Les's operation for what he did for all us
This was my favorite episode growing up!
because of the boobies?
You know besides my dad I do not have a hero male figure but this was the show we watched growing up and why id camp in woods with nothing but a sleeping bag and a lighter with friends les is a legend.
i loved the winter and summer pilot.. and the mountain .. i fell asleep learning from you many many times.
This and the Outback were my favorite
What a legend!
This reminds me of when I have no idea what I am doing but I just make things up as I go to look intelligent in front of my kids.
It makes me happy that the inspiration of a whole genre of RUclips is available freely to all on here
Les is the man, always has been.
Thank you Les!!! I thank you for putting your work for free on the internet. You're so wonderful 😍
I love this show , I know I've learned more from one of his shows , than a whole season of the others
so close to 1million, you got it les!
I wish he would do some solo catch and cook/foraging videos. Hands down my favorite survival show as it was the most realistic.
He has a new show called Wild Harvest where he does basically exactly this, except with someone.
Les actually strived in this episode cant wait for the new survivorman to come out !
One of my fan's from back when Les
Honestly in every survival shows i just want to watch the eating scene 😂
HEY I WAS RIGHT. I guessed that the "glitches" were the small camera angles like when he's doing the markerboard on the tank. I always wondered why those camera angles were so small randomly
Love you shows The first one I ever watched was the swamp And I was hooked
What glitches? I've been watching all your videos on RUclips after growing up with them on TV and I didn't ever see any glitches... Please let us know what the issue was
For content with director's cuts, the screen was tiny. This version fixes it!
What were the "technical glitches" that were fixed?
For content with director's cuts, the screen was tiny. This version fixes it!
And we're back hell yeah 💪🏿
Thank you for fixing all the glitches Les, we very much appreciate that!!
Do you think you'll ever go back out one day and do more Survivorman shows?
Les has said that if the youtube channel can get to 1 million subscribers he'll work on more.
I remember this episode very well. This was very enjoyable. Cheers, Les! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️🇨🇦
That might be the best meal he's ever had on these episodes.
Those coconut cooked fire pit clams must be incredible
More survivorman please.
Less when is your book signing happening?
Pulling that vegetable right out of the ocean and eating in one shot was really awesome.
Man ìm going to have to learn that coconut skill of making a Ukulele.
We miss you Les!!!
Love your content when I watched survivor man I always wondered if u saw and heard noises you couldn’t explain “Bigfoot” love it all
Nice to see you back bro
Ill give you this, your videos are very comical...
Me and a girlfriend found one of those flares on an abandoned aircraft. Had no clue what it was until we pulled back on the hammer… we launched one off in the middle of a cul de sac at 3 in the morning.😮
Seems like more reuploads are coming. Still loving them anyways
"As is the case so often, when an ecosystem contains some kind of poisonous element, it also provides a cure."
I'm gonna need a tutorial vid on you made that coconut uke/guitar you had lol
This episode is one of my favorites but least favorite. It kills me how you don't forage the low tide and eat from the sea
Love your content. Glitches abound still, though. For me, anyways... like a CD skipping
my harmonica will not be lost in vain
I love watching you anywhere you go Mr. Stroud. Youre the OG GOAT of the survival game. Thank you for all you do. I've learned alot and I feel like I could survive just about anywhere
Les, I love that you are still at it. We met briefly at the outdoors show in Toronto years back.
I’m curious, did your children follow in your footsteps?
I just returned today from a backpacking trip, and I owe a lot of my outdoor skills to you. You definitely started my passion for the outdoors/wilderness, and I thank you. My wife and I have been at it for years, and some of our best times together have been out in the bush.
On his channel youll find a small miniseries he did with his son
Les is good, but today, I had to hunt the elusive Pizza animal. You can't imagine the lengths I have to go to. Those things grow incredibly fast and are only edible for about one or two days. You need to bait them with specialized bait called "money" and when they come, you need to be quick. Open the door like a trapdoor spider and grab them quickly. I suggest eating them immediately after catching them. But yeah, a lot bigger hustle than to simply pluck and open a coconut. Urban survival is the hardest for sure.
[yes, this was sarcasm for all those who don't realize it]
Les kinda had that shit on with the cropped tee and the bandana ngl..
The scenario in this one was always confusing. Did he walk ashore after being stranded scuba diving? Was he shipwrecked? Did he find a shipwreck after being abandoned? He walked ashore, but he has his scuba bag with him. Very uncertain scenario.
do you always take your harmonica scuba diving? 😃
I guess I didn't notice these "glitches" last time. What were they like?
175K subscribers to go!!!!
It was semi-believable until he whipped out a tuned ukulele and started playing it at the end. 🎸😂
Do people carry crowbars in boats that size? If so, what for?
Why didnt you move the rain catch inside the boat, where they couldnt get into it? I admit, im not a survivalist. Just genuinely curious
In a few shots I saw a tent in the background Why
new episode at 1 million he said
Did Sasquatch visit you there?
This man is the furthest thing from a survivor man. I can't see how this can still be on you tube.
What if your crew really leaves you there forever? How will you survive if they never return for you?
No disrespect intended. Just trying to learn. Don't you have to cook clams? I thought raw clams hurt most ppl. ( At around 38:00 )
What glitches? I don't remember issues with them?
Booby is my favorite survival meal :)
And who packs a knife in any kit and doesnt put a sharpener in it. I have 3 separate kits and each one has a knife sharpener lighter/matches in waterproof container and fire starting rod
Because he trys to make the survival situation with as little of equipment as possible
What glitches were fixed?
Les..Any otherwordly experiences lately that you can share ? Strangness seems to be camping I mean ramping up! Tnx for the entertaining education. Hope I never need to use it. Tent trailer is my comfort zone.
Oh my god not hypothermia
Les'bian stroud. love em
Les would be the worst person to travel with. He can't walk up the street without getting stranded.
Probably one of the most fruitful survival adventures Les has been on over the years as Survivor Man.
Captain Location Cherry Picker
Bear Grylls is a fake. Les is real.
He's alot "LESS STROUD" than he used to be!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Crazy to think that if he was born 10 years later how much less stress he’d have recording himself by using a go pro instead of a cam corder and 30 pounds of camera gear/batteries
You and Bear Grylls are my two'if i were to have to go out and survive id bring you guys with me" type
Where is your survivor partner wife?
This is old crap, you're getting dude! 😅🤣😂
Hey Les, why are you re-uploading the same content we’ve seen perfectly before? Do something new.
If I haven't seen it, it's new to me
For content with director's cuts, the screen was tiny. This version fixes it. Before complaining at him for something new, try to make a little bit of effort to look into it yourself.
Does he have breathing problems? Always breathing like he ran a 5 mile sprite. Kinda annoying.
You know absolutely nothing about how he films the show himself or what?? You go film yourself doing all the stuff he does and let's hear your breathing 🤦😅
@visisydandthevoid I get that he does it all on his own. Just saying he might have breathing problems.
Thanks for the reup Les! From the bedroom of my youth to the sleeper of my semi, I will always love this compendium of information and entertainment you've built.
Les Stroud, one of my heroes. I owe a very good portion of what I know about basic survival and further learning into more advanced survival knowledge and techniques to this man. Thank you my good sir, hope all is well with friends and family 🤙😎
Hey Les! It's a long shot but I got a question. With camera gear as light and efficient as it is now, would you ever so some kind of solo-filned adventure again? Such as backpacking, or other common survival situations?
This and the first couple seasons of Deadliest Catch are actually 2 of the greatest shows of all time
I would like to see him do a just washed up on shore with nothing but the things in my pocket or the plank that I floated up on shore with, just found this channel these are great to watch tho still full of so much info!
Glitches fixed Les ? There’s still commercial’s …lol love all your old stuff still to this day buddy 👍
My uncle was a scuba diver instructor in San Diego. He certified any in the family for free.
I watched this show with my Dad when we were close. You were my childhood hero and inspired me to never feel trapped and take inventory of my surroundings and overcome obstacles. You are the best Mr. Les!
Dont use your knife to save the blade, proceeds to use his knife as a hatchet 😂 oh Les
Rats would be a great source of nutrition. Plentiful protein.
