When I started with coin boxes I bought Okito Botch. I didn’t like the generic looking brass boxes. I need style. I’ve had my M-Boxes for about three years. One is always in my pocket. I love that routine and your flair. I love performing Translikito and Audible Entry with these boxes. I may consider buying this beautiful set so I can have a shiny set for those fancy shows.
I've been thinking about the original M Box for a while. Thank you for your usual clean and easy to follow presentation. Now I'll be looking at the 2.0 box.
Hi Rick, I just discovered your channel, and I wish I had investigated how many Magic resources are available on RUclips long before now (obviously I have to be careful about which RUclips channels I trust). I've been a student and collector of coin Magic for 30 years, but I have always relied on recommendations from high quality dealers like Viking and Stevens Magic. I just wanted to shout out a big THANK YOU for all you do! You are doing wonderful things to help the Magic community! I've spent the last couple of hours looking at some of your videos, and I look forward to MANY hours (and many late nights!) of learning from your excellent teaching and reviews in the future! Best regards, Paul K.
Paul, Thanks for taking the time to comment. I try hard to stand apart from the garbage on You Tube and to be a good source for those who truly want to learn and study.
I’ve been looking forward to this review and I’m not disappointed! There’s only one problem with these boxes: they add so much extra possibility to Okito routining that I’d love to see what you do with it in the future, but I also understand that any future material you release needs to be applicable to generic Okito boxes in order not to minimise the potential audience, so I’ll never get to see your future ideas with this fantastic device. Sorrow aside… great review as always.
I will release those ideas anyway. I really think these are cool, so maybe the routines would inspire someone to get the box. I tried to show in this performance how you can do things together that you would previously need to do seperately, if you know what I mean.
Very nice review Rick. I'm tempted to purchase but I've been so comfortable with my Roth Set I've had for years it's a tough one. By the way, I'm sending you something soon. You might find a use for the mini box :)
I was thinking maybe you could use the mini box as some kind of surprise at the end: like you shrink the box for some reason or you keep another box inside the bigger box OR you could pull out the mini box at the beginning, dump the much larger coins out of it, and then make the box bigger to accommodate the coins for the main routine. The fact that your unexpanded turtle works with the Boston feature (that is what you’re saying, right?) is incredible and also contradictory to what I’ve heard elsewhere (specifically from Patrick Kun) Very intriguing. I really want this set.
Hello Rick! thank you for the nice review! Since you do own a variety of turtles i wanted to ask: What is an affordable Set of Turtle Set of Coins. I still study at university so i dont have a lot of money on my hands, but i wanted to upgrade from the set i own. Lassen and schoolcraft are out of my range and i didn't hear the best of kueppers coins. So do you have suggestions?
Roy Kueppers makes great coins. It can be very subjective, and people often know nothing about the process to make these coins. It's extremely difficult and delicate work. There is also Mark Mason who makes great coins as well. jbtvusa.com If you want real silver coins, I wouldn't bother looking elsewhere: Schoolcraft, Kueppers, Mason
They are advertised as taking an expanded shell. But I have an unexpanded shell that fits. Most expanded shells should fit. Here is their ad copy tccmagic.com/products/m-box-luxury-set
The Okito Box is strange. People either love it or hate it. I, of course, love it. You should check out Curtis Kam. He made a channel just for his ideas with the box. youtube.com/@okitobox?si=2u8iaxPoez9EoK8L
Tony, Craig has allowed me to handle some of his boxes (and I also own this new m-box set) and I wouldn't say they are "nearly identical". No one going "hands on" with both boxes would ever mistake one for the other. While the m-box 2.0 looks very nice (especially after gaining patina), and has a boston feature that is "second to none", it's *nowhere* near as beautiful as Craig's boxes. Craig's boxes are handcrafted works of art, while the m-box 2.0 is an exceptionally well made, mass produced item. Plenty of room in the market for both.

Wonderful routine. Super smooth, super clean, super magical and the box disappearing at the end is unexpected and mind-blowing!
Awesome! I got the half dollar set. Now kind of wishing I bought the dollar size. Great video!
WOW! This was an awesome and very very detailed review! Thanks for taking the time to look at this.
I love the way you do reviews now and I love the black background! Great work, Rick!
Thanks Millard!
GREAT performance! GREAT device!
I appreciate how you talk in code, so as to not give away "secrets".
It's difficult to convey just how cool an idea this is and it's so well made. I wish I could just show how it worked completely.
@@RickHolcombe You did a very fine demo anyway!! AWESOME!
Would be awesome if you did a collaboration with TCC and made a video tutorial companion. Love what you’re doing. Keep it up!

I got the dollar set on kickstarter, but after I got it I kind of regretted not getting half dollar as well.
Excellent review, very thorough. I own this set (deluxe HD) and find it a really great value. Would recommend.
thank you for this i really want to get some boxes
🎉
Rick a great review 🤟👍👏😊😊🤜🤛

Game Changer is right. I've also noticed they hold 5 coins. I'm thinking of playing around with Octopalm and that little one.

Are these boxes taking an expanded, or unexpanded turtle?
Thank you in advance!

Sweet! Thank You for taking the time to reply brother! 💪👊
These work fine with several kennedy hd expanded turtles I tried. I understand some have had issues (dollar size) with ike expanded turtles.
With the slot box can you do the same as with the normal one or is the slot limiting?
The Slot might affect the way you handle the box if you're not actually trying to use the Slot feature.
@@RickHolcombeThanks, I thought I could use it like a normal one, one more question, do you know if the tango brand can be used?
All slot boxes work the same
What FUN! Nicely done!
Thanks!
Does this comes with the coins?
No.
Quick question, will it work with my Copeland Tiger-tan and"turtle"?
It works with mine. That's all I can accurately say.
Aces! Thanks! Sold!
Hi! I’m not sure what you mean by “turtle”. You keep saying “you’ll need a turtle” but what does that mean???
Why no Okito box tutorials…?.. bye the way u r d best
Soon. And thanks!
@@RickHolcombe not one single video on RUclips to teach people on how to do the Okito box…all other tricks are availed on tutorial…madness !

Would they perform all of David Roth’s coin box routines?
Yes
I thought maybe but am new to them. Thank you Sir.
Just got the book today!
Do you find the lid more difficult to perform with since it is bigger than the more traditional boxes?
No difference for me.
the dollars are currently unavailable
😮😔
still available 2024 august
those are almost as pretty as Craig Ousterling's boxes. In fact they are almost identical.
Yes Tony, we all know
