They’re worth what someone is willing to pay but most cars cost way way more to restore than what they’re actually worth restored. You ain’t gonna make money on a car you paid to restore.
Not going to lie - the Ranchero was well done from the pics. The Olds especially got me. The Nomad appears mint, but a little strong for the market as I understand it. Like always, fun window shopping. Thanks for putting these together, have a great week sir! Chuck

That Ranchero is pretty cool but it looks too much like a Trans Am lol, and at least those chopped top cars were originally built in the days of full frame and not the uni body cars that people cut the roof off without supports and reinforced, even factory convertible full frame cars were reinforced, I understand you already know it! Love this channel, keep us entertained
You're right there because at first I thought it was a Trans Am. It's all a matter of taste but I wouldn't have bought it anyway cos I thought it had been built well but hit with the ugly stick 😂
I've always thought that those years of the Ranchero could potentially be badass. Love what they've done with the body. I don't care for the red paint, but otherwise, fantastic looking ride and I'm not a Ford guy.🤠
I saw an old Lincoln lead sled at the race track that had been done beautifully except it was a hard top that somebody had sawsalled the roof off of and done a really nice job of making it look good, just like the 49 Ford, but like you said don’t do that sort of stupid thing, buy a convertible if that’s what you want
My dad owned a junk yard back in the 60's/ early 70's. I saw so many of these cars get parted out then go to the crusher. SMH. If only.... Oh btw, you got a better price for clean steel. We used to burn them out before crushing...being a kid it was my favorite job to go torch the next batch. Gasoline, newspaper, and matches. Still SMH.
The Nomad and the Merc at the end were my 2 faves. The shoebox Fords had paint jobs that were a bit too extreme for me. Getting back to the Nomad and the Merc (if I had a shit ton of money) I would offer them half of what they were asking. The 2-tone Dodge gets an honorable mention here.
Wow don’t know where to begin, the colors of the first 2, the overpricing on most of them or the chopped roofs not my cup of tea but to each there own , the 54 Ford was my fav on this one 😊
Damn that Mercury is beautiful but id change a few things wheels and color. Them things look good in a deep purple with shadow flames or old fashion flat black with some old school flames. But that price just seems so goody cuz you've got to meet that one other prmerson in this world that likes your vision to buy it. And I don't think he'll find one. In this multiverse ..... but what do I know 🤔
See that's where you have to be careful while building a car for profit.. you can miss the mark so easily.. you have to almost go completely neutral to keep it appealing to everyone. And leave room for them to make it their own. Thanks for watching and commenting
The cars look great but i failed to see any of them priced to what i think they are worth..It's like they forget they will never recoup the money they invested..This hobby is a labor of love and it's a proven fact you can not build them to this extreme and get a 100% of your investment back when you sell because people are looking for a deal..not someone else dream
My thoughts exactly , those are some one else’s dream cars, sellers have to find the very few buyers that desire them and also have the luxury of buying them. Hard to put that combination together. That’s why they are on FM trying to get as many eyes on them. If they really want to sell them they should take it to an auction and then they will get the an idea of what the market will pay. And for anyone buying a collector car you need to have it professionally inspected and appraisal done before any money is spent. You’ll need to do some research to find a reputable appraiser, we all have seen buyers who were so eager to get their dream car that they couldn’t see the flaws in front of them.
I'm liking the '54 Ford but I would have to change the wheels straight away, they just look wrong to me. A '49 Shoebox and a '49 Mercury are my dream US cars but even if I were rich I would not pay $175k for a Mercury, no matter how nice it looks and I wouldn't be going hunting for it on no Facebook or Craigslist!!
I like the Ranchero for $15k, the old Dodge for $35K, and the Nomad $45k max. I'm more of a sleeper style guy. The Ranchero is out there the only problem is the color, I'd have painted it black with a red interior. Also, it needs a dashboard, the center console look is all wrong.
Any money made after restoration and breaking even ? Losing a ton is the way it invariably works. Yea, I know people who have made $ once(!), and all three of them attributed to blind, dumbass luck. I like the ranchero. Its a bit too red and a bit too nice for my taste but its cool looking. I don't know car values but I'd maybe go 20g on the nomad, cash. It's isn't worth a penny more to me personally.
Guaranteed they have more.money in some of these builds than what they are asking. Your pricing is way off. 53 grand for an ugly 4 door sedan definitely agree on that one. 135k for the nomad ? Dude is smoking something even though they are rare. The last mercury was beautiful but 175k is way off. You are right in alot of these but I thought the first couple were in the ballpark. 35k was high for the first one but the next two for 20ish weren't too bad. Good video !!!!
I like them both .. but I do love to paint with candy colors.. so many cool things can be done and give you so much depth to a paint job. Thanks for watching and commenting

I would offer $6,500. 9) There has been too much customization on thiscar to expect $40K at Berrett-Jackson and it is definitely in the wrong color for that venue. Signed-Richard.
