As I am right handed, the Bantam's combo tool is easier for me to use as a can opener than any other device I own. In fact, I stopped using my home electric can opener when I got the Bantam, because it's just so much fun to use. I use the Bantam more than any of the many other SAKs I own.
Thank for for showing how the new Victorinox combo tool works! I was looking for a video showing all the uses, especially the can opener, because I am looking at the SAK Walker model.
Got them both. The Bantam combo tool works MUCH better than the Walker for opening cans and such; the Walker is more useful out of doors for clearing excess vegetation from pathways etc. So, Bantam for indoors, Walker for outdoors. Get 'em both like I did - no regrets!
I'm not sure the Alox Bantam would be as good, because the Bantam is so thin anyway, and the Alox might be too thin to exert full pressure, like you can with the Celidor model.
Great video ... I have been pondering the purchase of the Compact model but I need a screwdriver and was apprehensive about the use of the combo tool as a Phillips and flat head screwdriver ... It seems to work well ... Thanks ...
I agree to broadsidejohn comment. Very good review and very well demonstrated. Cool mod for a ferro rod. I must do the same. I have had mine SAK Bantham alox now for a week and it's a very good and well made knife indeed and it's amazing how useful a knife like that are. With a only a blade, screwdriver, bottle opener, can opener and wire stripper you can almost do anything and everything. It's only your technical knowledge and fantasy which set the limits. I have seen a (Greek?) guy on You Tube somethere, Nicgyver (?), who find and demonstrates a more or less endless uses for various SAK knife tools. Anyway, a very good review indeed and once again, the ferro rod modification is genius.
You seemed to have struggled with the can opener a bit but once you get the hang of it, it's really easy and fast to open a can with either the combo tool or the conventional Victorinox can opener.
There's one more function of multifunctional tool for me. As 84 mm knives are too short for hand, this tool, when it is open, lengthens the handle of knife till handle of Opindl 9 or Victorinox 111 mm. Its much more comfortable grip then 84 mm.
Really? Have you tried it my way? If it works, why is it "wrong?" I think you are just parroting other youtubers, who parrot each other. Some fine wires are a twist of 3 or 4 very thin wires. Doing it the way you described will chop the wires partially, if not completely. Try both ways and get back to me. Think for yourself.
Ha! Just what I want too. But the Walker has persuaded me that the Bantam is perfect just as it is. I have a Super Tinker, but I also want a super thin SAK, maybe just a blade and scissors. That way I could have a SAK for every pocket, and none of them would weigh me down like a multi layer version would.
It's really just meant to be a bottle opener. If you need to open a can, use a real can opener, and if you need to unscrew something use a real screwdriver.
First of all, if you actually read the instructions, it is meant to be a can opener. To say that a real screwdriver is better than a multi-tool is stating the obvious.
*This is by far the best review of the victorinox combo tool on RUclips.*

That's a good idea, modifying the edge for a firesteel. I'm going to do that. Good vid.
Great video thanks 😊. Nice if you like a thin knife. Like the multiple function of the bottle opener / can opener.

Seriously, this seems so ingenious. Last but not least, it's probably a decent pry bar.
Thank you great review just what I was looking for
this is one of my favorite vídeos!!
excellent nabaja, this is my first Victorinox, greetings
Great video! Can't wait for my Alox Bantam!

Very nice. I wish Victorinox would add a second layer to this knife for scissors! That would make it perfect for me. Bantam X!
That is a good idea. I always have a Classic SD on my key ring, which compliments the Bantam well.
Great review!

Good video. Thanks for posting.
Pretty. Been looking at getting a lavender alox bantam from Swiss Bianco.

The best Victorinox for the city
i sharpen the inside edge of the combi tool for ferro rod striker...
carry one on my keychain. It has all the tools that I need and is super affordable.
you can laso use it as cap lifter like paint bottle caps
You are using the wire stripper wrong. Put the wire in the notch and then bring the knife blade over to the wire to cut the insulation on the wire.

I really really wants super bantam, just plus a layer of scissor and no back tools.

I carry the Classic (small blade, scissors, nail file) problem solved!
I did use wires alot before that wire stripper would of helped but I stopped using wires
Can it consistently/easily screw phillipshead screws?
well said bro
In my opinion victorinox failed inserting bottle and can opener on the same tool. Other knives from them use separated tools as it should be.
combo tool yet serves to long the handle. Cause it is only 84 mm. with opened combo tool much longer.
OMG that is for bottle opener!!!!!!!
It is actually the new combo tool from Victorinox meant to handle bottle opening and can opening.
I think thats a bottle opener bud.
It was designed to do both: bottle cap lifter and can opener. Victorinox states this on their website.

Only the alox is aluminium
