The screwdriver is fit for much more than lifting a coin. You can use it as an effective screwdriver and you can open stubborn paint tins. As long as you respect the limitations of the tool, it’s an effective screwdriver and light-duty pry bar. The toothpick is also effective as a toothpick. I used mine earlier to remove a piece of food whilst driving.
Combo tool works great as a can opener and a bottle opener. The only thing I wish it was a little thicker to strengthen it. I carry a Bantam or the Waiter
I can understand the love and hype for the Bantam Alox but if you want a Cellidor, single layer, knife then the Waiter should be the obvious choice. Add a mini screwdriver and a pin and you’ve got 12 tools on an 84mm.
Keychain-friendly, but not advisable for car keys on older models with classic ignition switches. Overloaded "jailer's" keys, dangling and swinging around will totally destroy those ignition switches over time.
I always used the flat head cap lifter on my Spartan to pry on things where my finger nails were not strong enough, or where I didn't want to jam things into the bed of my nails, I even used it to chisel-like scratch on stuff. I even grinded the tip up a bit to make it narrower and a tad sharp, lol.
Favourite tool in a SAK. I'm currently EDCing a Compact, but not convinced over the combo tool. I feel is not beefy enough to put force on it with confidence.
@@crux314 Hmm, I haven't had the pleasure with the Compact yet. So far my mostly used the Spartan and the Ranger. Looking to get a slim and even more spartan Alox version soon, maybe the Cadet. 🤔
@@LeftyotismI've always thought that for a SAK to be a true EDC carry is has to be worn without using a pouch. How do you carry your Ranger? If in the pocket, is it confortable? Tried to EDC the Huntsman but it felt uncomfortable, I believe because of the width-heigth form factor that allows to be diagonal within the pocket (even with a suspension clip). Looking forward to get both SAK Ranger and Handyman. Cheers.
@@NGMonocromHaha, that happens to me too sometimes. Maybe I write too many single comments on a single video, because I like to (try and) keep one comment short enough to not scare people away from it being too long, and address different things. Maybe RUclips sorts out some due to mass, not quite sure neither what that happens sometimes. Or maybe we just get too many notifications that we might overlook some here and there haha. Got notifications to these replies though, so there is that! 😂🤭👍

The spring on this one layer SAK is thicker than the one on multi layer models. For this reason opening and closing Is stiffer.

The Bantam is perfect for my needs.

Yup. I own one of those as well.
I never need to open a bottle of wine so it’s really just a holder for the mini screwdriver.

Sorry, never got the notification from YT six months ago that you left a comment on this video.
@@NGMonocromNo problem haha, appreciate the response nonetheless! 🥰

It's all you need
2 and 3/4th inches is such a horrible way to describe length imo, but then I'm merely European.
Not sure why YT never sent me notifications on the two comments that you left here.
