What a HUGE SUCCESS!
Forming a Lion Pride out of captive bred lions who are not related to one another and have no clue how to socialize with other lions was a big CHALLENGE! There‘s a lot that can go wrong when introducing lions to one another especially after a certain age!
I first had to study each ones character and behaviour very well and then put myself into their skin and try to see the situation out of their perspective! This allowed me to choose the next steps in the process of introduction and make my decisions very carefully.
Today I am very happy and even a little bit proud that everything went so well and the lions have their very own family now.
But the Challenge is not Mastered yet! As they get older their behaviour will start to change and we hope to be able to keep the Hakuna Mipaka Pride in the constellation it is now.

About Dean Schneider:
I am a 27-year old Swiss guy, who dedicated his entire life to the animal world! Nowadays, I live in Africa, I am a member of a lion pride, my wife is a hyena and I’m a daddy of two monkeys. Besides that, I have built a global voice for our planet’s wildlife over the past two years!
Born in Switzerland (Zurich) on October 3, 1992, I was blessed to grow up in a loving family with my sister (one year older) and my parents, who were always very supportive and loving. My mother is originally from the Balkan region (Southeastern Europe), while my dad is a Swiss citizen. I discovered my deep passion for wildlife at the age of six or seven, through the legendary Steve Irwin! He was the one who brought wildlife into my living room in Zurich and inspired and educated me about all kinds of different animal species.
Even though I was so passionate about animals, I originally followed a very ordinary path to adulthood, eventually ending up in the finance industry as a financial advisor. After a very successful year, I decided to found my own company, which then, over the next three years, allowed me to generate the financial foundation to launch the Hakuna Mipaka project at the age of 23-24.
After starting my life in South Africa additional financial support form my Family allowed me to evolve and develop the Hakuna Mipaka Oasis for 2 Years without having to depend on any income sources such as offering touristic visits / programs, breeding or trading of animals, donations or any other monetary businesses!
About Hakuna Mipaka:
The Hakuna Mipaka Oasis is located on around 400 hectares (four million square meters) in the wilderness of South Africa! It is home to thousands of different wild animal species! Besides that, the oasis also serves as a life-long home to a few rescued wild animals, which were born in captivity! We also do rehabilitation programs with different animals, which are then being released back into the wild.
The Hakuna Mipaka Oasis is my personal home and a private sanctuary that is NOT open to the public. We don’t cater to tourists and don’t allow any day visits or animal activities! We don’t breed animals and we are also not trading animals. I built this place for animals and not for humans. The Hakuna Mipaka oasis is a secure, wild & lifelong home to the animals that live here.

Everyone talks about Dean being friendly with these wild animals while everyone forgets the cameraman is in the same vicinity as them and is so chill while recording like stable AF!
He's also part of the tribe and does the same thing just off camera. That was shown in one of the videos

He doesn't make them obey him per say, it's more of a respect thing. It's like with siblings. You can love them and should treat them with respect. If one breaches that respect then the other will get upset with them. No hate to you at all just making a comment to further any misunderstandings!

When Dexter was a cub, Dean was his papa. Now the role has reversed. Dexter is now king.
Nayla has such a natural protective and caring instinct/nature (although naughty ;) ), even towards these new strangers 💗 she isn't afraid to stand up for anyone, from anyone

they aren’t really his. it’s not a pet-owner situation per se. he’s wanted within the pride and is seen as a member of the pride rather than the owner or leader. he’s an equal to pretty much everyone
@@ApolloTheUltimate actually not as a member but a friend with no fear or jealousy (because the lions don't push their heavy body on him or be harsh which is a normal behavior among themselves) they trust Dean.
Dean teaches a 10 hour lesson on lions in 10 minutes. Awesome.

It’s like Snow has old angelic soul. I’ve never seen a lion so sweetly in touch and in tune, he just makes everyone feel good and relaxed. I can’t say enough about him, he’s so calm and cool and then he has a subtle dominance that they respect which makes the other lions at ease with him instantly! 🐾💗🐾

That was amazing, and that young lioness is so brave and fearless.
I came across your videos just recently. Believe me, I was deeply amazed at how you are able to tame those lions and other animals that are, by their nature, feared by humans. Watching them interact with you definitely cringes me and relieves me from stress. I am now a subscriber. Wonderful.
