I'm 42 and he's still easily the best all around athlete I've ever seen in my life. 4.13 at 230-235 Pounds = INSANE
Same here lol. He was a beast !!!!
Best athlete ever. No one comes close
You'd be surprised how heavy sprinters are. They are actually quite heavily muscled. Some sprinters are well over 200lbs.
@Mark Metternich .... I think Jordan could've been a great sprinter. 4.3 in the 40 as a sophomore in college is nasty!
There is absolutely no way that the truth not electronically timed which is slower and is the way they do it today. Hand time has so many inaccuracies plus the fact he was just way too heavy.
Who remembers him running up the outfield wall with the Royals!? 😲
Love that
I remember watching him do that when he played minor league for The Memphis Chicks. He is, without question, the greatest athlete to ever play any sport. Period....
@Jack Burton
Ran him over and ruined his career. Hit him so hard, it made him a B movie actor...
The most impressive athletes I've ever seen in person were Bo Jackson and Vernon Davis.
Those two looked like they were sculpted by God.
@@brianoflaherty6190 As a Niner Fan, Vernon was a freak of nature. What's more impressive is his artwork and the fact he's into olympic curling lol
I am 46 and Mr. Jackson is best/strongest all around athlete I’ve ever seen. Also, he is extremely humble and is the consummate gentleman as well. I wish today’s athletes would follow his lead..
I guess you've never seen Herschel Walker or Wilt Chamberlain?
Who remembers bo Jackson in tecmo bowl???
Running laps around the field 🤣

Imagine Lamar Jackson and Bo Jackson in the same backfield 😳😳😳😳
Use to make my little brother cry playing the game
I love how they laughed about him saying he’d want his kid playing golf and stopped and then he told them he’d lost friends that he didn’t know about until he saw concussion
This man I respect greatly with how well he preformed and how he was always humble
@knightowl50 as a coach and former player ive looked thourougly at the research. The CTE epidemic is drastically over blown for numbers of reasons. There is also incredible strides that have been made to help the brain recover, not just from CTE, but all types of brain issuses like PTSD and dementia but they are getting absolutely zero media coverage
knightowl50 the original comment never even claimed sports should be banned you’re the one over reacting. If your own friends died due to concussions you wouldn’t want your kid to play football either. He even says he wouldn’t go back and change playing football. You’re an idiot.
Anthony Arena “I’ve looked thoroughly at research” HAHAH yeah no you haven’t. Nothing about it is being overblown. It’s the simple fact that your head is protected and kept still causing your brain to slam against your skull. You’re clearly an idiot who can’t accept the truth. If you hit like that without helmets you would break your skull, doing it with a helmet doesn’t magically fix things it reverts all force to your brain. You’re embarrassing yourself. Truly. I love football and it’s a unfortunate side effect but it’s undeniable. I’m sure you believe climate change isn’t real and the earth is flat but you’ve also somehow done thorough research on that too huh? Don’t look now, everyone can tell you’re an idiot.
@knightowl50 They should ban heading for young girls in that case yes. There is a famous ex International player called Gary Linekar who refused to head the ball his entire career because of CTE.
I once got a CTE like brain injury and it was the worst experience of my life and made me suicidal. I can only imagine what these pro athletes go through.
There is no honour in not growing with the times.
BaronVonBielski thanks for realizing that too
Bo Jackson is a hall of famer in our hearts and is all that matters
Bo Jackson is the closest a human being will ever get to a literal train.
So I guess Herschel Walker is closest to a bullet train cause he was just as big, but faster.
I think that Bo Jackson and Barry Sanders are the exact opposites on the Halfback spectrum. Bo will stiff arm your soul to the ground and Barry will dodge everything in his path
Derek henry
Jerome bettis.
sydboski no. If no ran a 4.13 which is the fastest where does Herschel walker measure up to that
Not only was Bo the fastest guy on the field when he played, he would straight up truck dudes all the time.
As a Raider fan I've watched every snap he ever took and I've never seen anyone run someone over and almost not break stride, Bo has as many highlights running dudes over as he does long runs, forget about the Boz run that was nothing compared to many others where he lowered the boom!💥

He was the best athlete I ever saw. I was at the Seahawk Raider game that he ran over Bosworth. He was passing people like they were standing still. In retrospect, Bosworth did pretty good, that he was really trying to stop a missile!!!!! I am honored to have seen him play. Go Bo Go!!
This man is singularly the reason I’m a Raiders fan today. I was lucky to be a kid that was able to enjoy Bo in NFL and MJ in the NBA in the late 80s blowing everyone away.
Bo defines class and I love it; got so much respect for him, and I just hate his football career ended WAY too soon.

It's weird that they didnt keep records of the 40 back then considering the fact that guys were slower so to see a fast guy you'd just have to keep a record of it.
They didn't have computers back then.
Summa random scouts probably recorded it. But why would anybody save that for years.
@@jamisojo Geez, wasn't the dark ages! I had a computer back then and we were FAR from wealthy. They might not have used one, but they existed then.
Well if you listen to Bo's story you would see that he didn't run this at the combine. It seems to have been run at Auburn at an impromptu combine set up by the coaches of Auburn for the athlete's to perform for scouts
They have been keeping records for the Olympics since 1897. If they wanted to, there would have been some kind of record or some documentation of the event. I think it is a bunch of malarkey. Bo did not run 4.1 anything legitimately.

Yeah I'm not buying it considering nobody has ever come close to that especially at that size. You put up in frame to frame race with the fastest guy now and he'd beat them by a couple steps which is not even humanly possible as no one person is that faster than the rest of society. I don't think people realize how big of a difference he's talking from the next fastest guy. I think Bo's naturally strong muscle fiber made him one-of-a-kind.
@@brianoflaherty6190 I grew up watching bo jackson and the hype and legend behind him keeps getting bigger as the years go by. The guy was no doubt a great two sport athlete but his production in both sports on field was nothing to get exicted about. His best hitting years he was in the .250s in mlb and if I'm not mistaken he never had 1,000 yard season in NFL. Individually some highlight reel movements for sure but overall production was way hype than substance. Ali that aside the Whole point here though is this 40 time thing and it is simply not true or even close to being so. I'm an expert on the 40 from 30 years of following the draft at extremely close levels. My above comment explains all of it better. Jackson wasn't even anything more than an average college sprinter. Not claiming bo is lying either but those back in those days didn't have close to accurate testing methods and mistakes were made. Not sure how I can put this into context but what they are saying here is equal to someone now running a 3.9 forty or so which we all know isn't possible or those of us who understand how this works.
@@brianoflaherty6190 The Fonz is right. Bo's 40 is a myth. Sprinter Christian Coleman is the quickest starter in history. He has the quickest first 30m ever recorded at 3.77. He ran an NFL style 40 on turf and semi automatically timed in 4.12. He also is the world record holder in the 60m dash at 6.34. His 100m dash best is 9.76 whereas Bo's is 10.44. That also applies to his family life and commitment to his wife and kids.
Yes especially if these half-hearted athletes with partial careers like Dwight howard get in the NBA Hall..
But for the NFL, I don't think Bo will or should get in -
Roger Craig was the first 1000 yd rusher + 1000 yd receiver in a single season - he was ahead of his time, the premonition of Marshall Faulk, and all these backs today who catch passes like Kamara, McCaffery etc...
not as "highlight"-worthy was Bo .... sometimes Hall of Famers just keep giving you quality and hard work year after year without the big Nike Ad campaigns and sportscenter highlights...... But Roger didn't get in the Hall this year.... again.
He probably never will - despite winning a Super Bowl without Jerry Rice and being such an important rusher who I think never missed a practice in his entire career. That's how durable Roger was....
During a violent era of defense, that's saying a lot.
So if Roger doesn't get in, as much as I'd love it , I don't think Bo should get in.... and Bo said " I didn't play sports to get in the Hall of Fame". That's great that he's at peace not being in either Hall of Fame.

@@powerboatguy2308yep it’s Bo and Wilt as the two at the top then everyone else way behind. Here’s a thing about comparing modern athletes to these guys. Modern athletes do nothing but work out, run, have personal trainers working with them every day, nutritionists feeding them every meal, trainers who know how to help their bodies recover and stay strong, you name it. Bo Jackson was the greatest athlete in this current generation.
2 sport Bo was good. But what about a player who was just as big but faster and played 3 different sports at the higest level?
Bo is the epitome of class so I want to make my point in an imploring rather than confrontational manner: A 4.13 is completely at odds with his track and field times. He ran track at Auburn-we hear him say in this interview that he was on his way to Track practice-but his best 100 meter times were a 10.38 (wind aided) and a 10.43 legal. These are really fast times but NO WHERE NEAR 4.13 40 yard dash fast. And I realize a 40 yard and a 100 meter dash are different, but if you get out to a start equal to a 4.13 second 40 yard dash you don't fatigue to the point of a 10.38 100 meters. No way! I know he's not lying so I suspect either they measured 40 yard incorrectly or it was a case of faulty timing. Again, I don't mean to stir up trouble for the sake of it: Bo was quite possibly the greatest all-around athlete in the history of sports! But this 4.12 and now 4.13 40 yard dash claim I've been hearing about in various forms for over 3 decades or so doesn't pass the logic test for me.
I agree
War eagle, the best back ever if I had to have one
Much love for Bo. I’m Roll Tide, but always respected Bo. He is just as amazing in person as he was competing. He’s a different dude when it comes to athletic ability. His comeback was nothing short of amazing after they screwed him up in surgery. Bo will go down as one of the best ever to play football and baseball. I’m glad he went back and got his degree. Nothing like a mother’s love. They should make a movie about his life. I hardly ever watch TV or movies, just sports. Bo deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Concussions are better understood today than they were back in the day. I could listen to him talk about sports all day.
What makes you think he was one of the best Baseball players ever?

Bo Knows... The greatest ever. Beating them all across all sports (Jordan, Gretzky, Pele, you name it)... Hitting HRS after hip replacment? Throwing out a guy from deep OF at the home plate? Crawling up a wall like Spiderman to catch a Baseball? Running over people for multiple 90+ yard runs? Man this guy is a true legend.
Greatest ever, what?
Are you on his leash?
I wish I had a mom that made me want to hit home runs for her. My mom was a mean @ss alcoholic.
Bo knows Brain's
I just finish watching Bo Jackson highlights at Auburn and I'm convinced there have never been and there will never be another Bo Jackson!
You now need to go watch Herschel Walker at Georgia. Then make a descision
I’ve never heard of this show? What’s it on ESPN 5?
Imagine being one of those scouts with a stopwatch and looking down and seeing "3.90" I wouldnt think it was real
Because it wasn't real. The whole story is a Myth.

@@eddie8847 Well I just look at the facts or what I can prove.
No o e can name anyone at this so called run because there are no records of anyone being there. All you have is Bo's story. No one reported this because for 30 years it was believed that it was done at the combine in New Orleans. It was only reported by one news paper in 1986. In a small article in the USA today. That's it. What happended to all the players, coaches, scouts, and reporters at the actual combine? For 30 years no one has said a thing. You'd think someone would have come forward and said, "Hey, Bo was never ever at the combine." Nothing like that ever happened. Then suddenly Bo does an interview and says he never went to New Orleans. But for 30 years it was 4.12 at the combine. Now we supposedly have a second group of people that no one knows but Bo. No one reported this run. The news papers did not reoport this run. 4.13 was not in existence til Bo did the interview. Everyone is going off of Bo's story. There is nothing to collaborate this myth, so Bo can say what ever he wants.
Bo's times at other distances do not point to him being 4.13 quick.
Bo: 50m 5.78. 100m 10.44.
Harvey Glance: 50m 5.73. 60m 6.64 100m 10.03
Christian Coleman 60m 6.34WR. 100m 9.76 6th fastest of all time. Coleman also ran an NFL style 40 in 4.12 semi automatic timing. Harvey Glance, Bo's teammate at Auburn who Bo admittedly said he had to "chase" at track practice. Chase meaning Bo was behind him. 50m is only 14.5 yards more thst 40yds. You want to believe that Bo could hang stride for stride with the world's fastest starter in history for 40 yards then be blown away By Coleman and over taken and beaten by a considerable distance by Glance in 14.5 yards? It is not possible. Did you know Bo has a 4.1 in the 30 yard run from home plate to 1st base and that some baseball players were timed faster? Cmon man. Bo's 40 is a complete myth.
There are holes in Bo's story also.
He's one of the most humblest Athlete of all time... Probably The greatest Athlete of all time... Should be a Hall of Famer in 2 sports.
He only played in 38 NFL games. He was only a part time player. How could a part time player make the Hall of Fame? What would make him the greatest athlete of all time?
The greatest athlete ever!
My opinion, Wilt Chamberlain!! Basketball, Track, Volleyball...The guy was a freak!! Super fast, can bench over 600LBS, Jump out of the gym...
Bo would never beat Darrell Green in a race period.
Wrong

Zero.
So we have no proof.
And yes, Darrel was very very very fast.
