At the actual combine they are more strict with the start though. Kalen rocks back into his start which is illegal at the combine and would get called by the starting official. Shame he's a 5th year senior, like to see him return punts and kick. Cooper DeJean ran a 4.42 at Iowa's pro day for reference. If Kalen could get past the first wave of guys he'd be gone.

The way it seemed to me is that you didn't think 6.51 was that fast seeing as there have been multiple collegians running 6.4 in the last couple years including Terrance Jones, the winner of the 60m dash at the NCAA Championship (though don't think he ran 6.4 in the final but he had run it earlier in the season) and Noah Lyles for example has now run faster than that by nearly a tenth of a second (6.51 was Noah's PB before this year though if I recall correctly). So that's how you came across to the reply above and to me. Plenty of people online don't understand how fast 6.51 is at all so it sounded like you were one of them. All good. Carry on.

The 40yd dash is supposed to be a running start. You get 10yrds to break the starting plane, then the clock starts. This dude did 40 straight from the ground.
I'd love to see some of the other top sprinters run a 40 on turf. The 50m short track sprints are the closest comparison. I'd bet most of those guys would be sub 4.2
He’s a track at athlete guys. Track speed and football speed are different. Track guys are way faster however many of them don’t do well at football because of the physicality. Bolt once ran a 4.2 in sweats without stretching.

But let's look at what better sprinters have done. Christian Coleman's 4.12 was actually manual start not automatic. Marvin Bracy and Devon Allen only ran 4.3 when they ran the 40yd dash. Bracy is a 60m world silver medalist.
@@aodoemela That's not true tho, Noah Lyles at Paris Olympics was last at 40m with a split time of 4.76, 40 yards = 36.5m so we convert doing 4.76 x 36.5÷40 = 4.34 except that in track we have reaction time ! Noah's reaction time was 0.178 ≈ 0.18 so we substrate that 4.34 - 0.18 = 4.16 and that was a terrible start from Lyles, hence why he's last at this point of the race. So now imagine what good starters in track can do (even though Noah's start is not that bad, he's just really inconsistent) Seeing you trying to imply that football players are faster than track athletes was really funny tho, now back to reality.
Walker is an elite TF athlete with a 6.51 60m time and 10.09 100m. He absolutely killed that record 😤put some respect on track
