@@kidkwendeThere have been some very successful college sprinters come through the NFL combine. Some that were even faster than Kalen Walker and none of them ran 4.1. At the actual combine they are more strict with the start though. Kalen rocks back into his start which is illegal at the combine and would get called by the starting official. Still he’s obviously faster than 99.9% of players that come through the NFL.

@@itsinthetreesitscoming7431 It's the internet. It can be hard sometimes to get nuances in speech such as sarcasm or slyness. Stuff like that translates better when you hear it. The way it seemed to me is that you didn't think 6.51 was that fast seeing as there have been multiple collegians running 6.4 in the last couple years including Terrance Jones, the winner of the 60m dash at the NCAA Championship (though don't think he ran 6.4 in the final but he had run it earlier in the season) and Noah Lyles for example has now run faster than that by nearly a tenth of a second (6.51 was Noah's PB before this year though if I recall correctly). So that's how you came across to the reply above and to me. Plenty of people online don't understand how fast 6.51 is at all so it sounded like you were one of them. All good. Carry on.

"standard football cleats" the cleats that you used to wear 10 years back are not the ones u wear today, today's are designed to make the best out of the footballer.....so no use to wear the best spikes that too are designed to make you fast is just an excuse....
you really think that track sprinters who have trained only for speed are gonna loosing to footballers who run part time?
its just common sense....a sprinter will have to have like some years of training to finally become a footballer....its not just inherent in him, just bcoz he is fast....why can't u understand this?

People only care about track when they want to compare sprinter speed to football speed.
But Kalen isn’t a football player. He can’t play football.
He can’t sprint on a world level either. He isn’t fast enough to be successful.
He’s competing at social media at this point.

@@mertholomy8414 Because he only ran 4.15 with this set up that is why. People don't realise how fast 4.30 is because of inflated numbers from hand timing and different set ups.
But let's look at what better sprinters have done. Christian Coleman's 4.12 was actually manual start not automatic. Marvin Bracy and Devon Allen only ran 4.3 when they ran the 40yd dash. Bracy is a 60m world silver medalist.

@@aodoemela That's not true tho, Noah Lyles at Paris Olympics was last at 40m with a split time of 4.76, 40 yards = 36.5m so we convert doing 4.76 x 36.5÷40 = 4.34 except that in track we have reaction time ! Noah's reaction time was 0.178 ≈ 0.18 so we substrate that 4.34 - 0.18 = 4.16 and that was a terrible start from Lyles, hence why he's last at this point of the race. So now imagine what good starters in track can do (even though Noah's start is not that bad, he's just really inconsistent) Seeing you trying to imply that football players are faster than track athletes was really funny tho, now back to reality.
