    • @Firm2of2
      @Firm2of2 14 дней назад +54

      And it’s hard to make shorter distances look like your not trying too. An 80% 50m dash no matter your pb would still require you to fully sprint 40m at 100% before you can ease off. Since Lyle’s was already easing off at around 25-35 you could literally assume his effort was 50-75%

    • @Firm2of2
      @Firm2of2 14 дней назад +5

      And for speed to make up for that to make Lyle’s go a full 100% would take easily more than a year of training cuz slashing off .3 second difference in a 50 is SO MUCH harder than a full hundred. Which for a full hundred you would theoretically need to improve every 10m segment by .03 and a 50 by .06 which doing that starting out the blocks and having a little less time to accelerate adds more to the difficulty

    My analysis: Lyles had a much worse reaction time than speed. Even in the olympics 100m and 200m he had the worst reaction times of the pack. That's why speed was ahead for the first couple of steps. When lyles caught up with him, he looked over and visibly started jogging and was still slightly pulling away before pulling off the goofy form. I found it very entertaining, and it was just for entertainment and not to be taken seriously. and lyles obviously wasn't going to take the race seriously. I have to admit i wasnt interested in track be ause i was more of a team sports kimd of dude. Volleyball, basketball, baseball, football, and soccer, which was the one that gave me the ability to enjoy and respect track and field due to the amount of running and stamina were required to be competitive. I just preferred the complexity and flowing nature of team sports plus i wasnt the fastest guy out there. I was bigger and more physical than most midfielders and left the serious sprinting g to the strikers. Track is about singular focus of intense all out energy expenditure in a small amount of time and it requires more focus than i could give it. So much training for 9 to 10 seconds. Or 20 or 40 depending on the distance. Props to those that excel to that level.

    The race was awesome and Noah put on a show. It was entertainment. Lyles put on a show and people may want to see one of these again because it was competitive.

    Context matters so much! Speed is clearly naturally faster. However noah is actually faster because of his training experience. Speed hasnt trained a day in his life therefore lacks technique and further enhancement to his already amazing speed. Also noah was at the location of the race hours before speed arrived and he properly warmed up. Speed went straight to the race after a 3 hr drive. This being said, it was closer than it should. With a year of consistent training and diet speed would beat or at least tie noah. Just imagine if speed wouldve had the same experience as noah. Would be faster by a lot.

    Noah was just running with him just to beat him in a close race.
