    Tnx very much for the great video! I was deciding on getting the C1 and C3 glad I dodged a Bullet here, only thing stopping me from getting the C1 is does not post

    Thanks, Chris! Looks like the C1 is still the clear winner in this series. Also, appreciated your review of the Ti200. In that
    design, the Wing Sung 601/601a is the only pen I want.

    Awesome. Excellent, thorough, honest review, as always. I'm very curious about this one. I plan on swapping a #5 Fountain Pen Revolution ultra flex nib into mine, to go with that large ink capacity. Going to eyedropper it.
    Thanks for sharing this one, Chris!

      @@chrisrap52 I went with a FPR #5 1.0 stub and it's really cool. i'm enjoying this combo even more than i thought i would. i recommend giving it a whirl, if you still find the pen Ho-hum.

      @@deanandreoli1975 Great idea. I enjoy the EF nib. Use the pen when I'm out & about many times with not the best paper. When I get bored with it, a new nib will be an option. Thanks.

    I like my c2, so I have c3 on the way. Now I wonder, as I got the c2 with the size six nib, as there was a choice of five or six at the time. I liked the color myself, so I pulled the trigger. I do like the block threads st the end of section, as they don't get in the way, and don't risk cracking the cap, and even if it cracks a little seal and functionality won't be affected till you crack the cap all the way, which hopefully you won't.

    Thanks for taking one for the team, Chris. I liked the look of this pen and considered getting one, but the inability to post properly is a deal breaker on pen like this.

    • @chrisrap52

      Fair enough!

    • @martinlebl631
      @martinlebl631 3 года назад

      That us annoying, as it looks like it would post, and could gave been made to, especially with the threads halfway up. You can make the barrel end a bit thinner, or the cap a tad wider on the inside, or both and it would look the same, and post just fine, and with those block threads halfway up the cap no need to worry about cap cracking. Makes no sense, just a designer's oversight.

    I think they should re-release the very first Moonman/Lecai. It has such a nice simple and balanced design and there are so many peope disappointed they missed out on it (incl. me). On this occasion: TYSM for the great reviews, they come super helpful many times. :)

    Hi Chris, I totally agree with your rating of this pen. I don't really like this model, it does seem like Moonman had this leftover and they wanted to sell it off. I still think the C1 was a winner, big ink capacity, very wet, and looks 100% cool factor. However, I just got my Moonman P135 and I love it, it may be a Moon-Blanc but it is a decent pen with a lovely smaller number 5 nib.
    Ps, think this is why I love pens the engineering behind them has always interested me.

    I like the rollstop, I wish the nib matched it. I highly approve of threads below the section, if a threaded cap is necessary. Otherwise, quite meh compared to most all of the other Moon Men you showed in comparison. As always, thanks for showing it to us.

    • @martinlebl631
      @martinlebl631 3 года назад +2

      Those threads are great. I like them on my c2, and Franklin Crystoph pens. They don't get in the way, and can be tightened without worrying about cap cracks. Also they don't get in the way of posting, and no need to worry about scratches from them on more finicky barrel finishes. If there is ink burping in the cap, the ink is stopped at the threads, and so there isn't any on the section where you hold it, unlike if the threads are at the end of the cap. Overall a great choice, if it works esthetically with the pen design.

    Just got mine. Desagree with your opinion. I like the pen. It's not too thin nor short. Just the gold color of the nib is not nice, but to solve that, just take it out ant put it on a small amount of povidone-iodine solution (any pharmacy will sell it) overnight. Now you will have a nice silver color nib.

    I had initially lookef at this pen but came to the same conclusions as you,that it as been stored for years as a proto type & then called the C3.The colour of the nib & roll stop are just basic & i am no designer.

    Chinese Manufacturers should get smart and produce pens with #8 size nibs.

      No Chinese market for #8 (big) nibs. Not enough overseas market to justify adding more nib choices.

      Not scratchy, feedback from nib on paper, some friction.

    I have long stopped buying Chinese pens; given away almost all of mine, save a handful. The default F nibs, for one, bore me stiff. So, I watched out of curiosity because I knew you would give an ace review, as usual, Chris.
    Moonman nibs were briefly rather swell (C1, C2, M2, M600S). I had praised them in comment sections. It predictably didn’t last for long. Soon, I tried out a few other Moonman pens and found the nibs were mediocre and inconsistent. I wouldn’t buy this pen even if it got a glowing review.

    • @chrisrap52
      @chrisrap52  3 года назад +1

      Sorry to hear about your experiences. The Moonman No. 6 F nib is a great writer, I have many, all good, smooth & wet, a little bounce, more like a M nib. Each of us has our own nib preferences.

    • @sajjadhusain4146
      @sajjadhusain4146 3 года назад +1

      @@chrisrap52 …The F nib on the Moonman C1 was the first that really wowed me. Wet, smooth, slightly bouncy and wrote a weirdly wider line than a Chinese F. A Medium really. And as I mentioned a few of the others were surprisingly good writers that I felt happy with. Some of the Chinese M nibs I have tried were all disappointing. PenBBS was the first I stopped buying because the monotony of their nibs left me cold. Today I just have a few Chinese pens, the PenBBS 456 & 355, the Wing Sung 601 & 618, Moonman 300 and a Hero H718 with a 10k retractable nib. I’m content with that because these are the ones I cared about enough to retain in my collection.
