  • Vanessa leads this practice for the Water Element. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Meridians associated with the Water Element are the Urinary Bladder and Kidney Meridians. The postures have been selected to ensure a healthy flow of chi through these Meridians, supporting harmonisation of the Water Element which governs the functions of water metabolism, reproduction, emotional maturation, physical development, sexual organ function, longevity and bone strength. The Water Element is associated with the season of winter.
    Most postures are held for 5 minutes, with 2 minute rebounds, allowing time for rest, replenishment and relaxation, important factors in balancing the Water Element.

    Ah Vanessa ... good morning ... such a wonderful practice in an incredible setting .... one of my all time favorite sounds is the sound of waves lapping against the shoreline ... I shifted into a yin state of mind following the sphinx and am thoroughly & completely in it now ... I shall continue to marinate in this as I ease into my day. With much gratitude ... namaste

      Ah Brenda 😊 we don’t record too many sequences outside but felt this location was perfect for a water element practice. I also love the sound of the ocean, so was glad to be able to include it (with only a few rogue dogs and passers by to edit out of the final video 🤣) May your yin state last all weekend!! 🙏❤️

    I absolutely loved this! It was the perfect amount of minimal guidance and instruction with long silent poses. Perfect format imo! Thank you!

      So glad to hear you enjoyed it Sue! We have learnt that people can vary greatly in how much silence they enjoy, (and it is extra hard to judge what is needed when you aren’t in the same room!) so we do try to mix up our practices a bit to include something for everyone. In this case, I felt the theme and setting lent itself to a quieter practice. We really appreciate your feedback and hope you keep practicing with us. 🙏❤️

    Ah, wonderful. Of all the yoga channels I appreciate yours is the one with the longest sessions, the longest time within poses, and the longest rebounds, which seems to elicit an even more profound reaction in my body. I like to practice alongside you during evenings when I know that I have nothing to do afterwards. Also, the darkening of Winter is arriving in Europe, so your footage alleviates the depressing lack of light a bit, thanks.

      Nice to hear from you again crafty spirit. …. It’s been a while 😊 ….. delighted we can work together to defeat those winter blues up there 👆in the northern hemisphere 😉😉 …. Longer holds and rebounds really give us the opportunity to slide a little deeper into our own unique experience and so much better too if you can relax after the practice ….. I hope you continue to enjoy the channel ….. thank you 🙏🙏

      Sorry to hear about your friend …. I’m not a doctor and it is difficult to advise on what might help, particularly with an area as complex as the eyes. I can only really suggest that your friend makes sure to get specialist advice for his eyes and when his doctor feels he is well enough that perhaps he join your in your practice to ensure overall physical, mental and energetic health is optimised. We send our best wishes to your friend for an early recovery 🙏🙏 it is great to hear that your practice is doing great 🙏🙏

    • @YogiMoksha
      @YogiMoksha  2 года назад +1

      @@banksack6902 many ailments physical and mental are thought to be caused by energetic blockages so without knowing what has caused a particular health issue the only suggestion I can make is to do as you have done and work to ensure that the flow of energy throughout the body is optimised …. if there is a specific trauma from an accident this may need medical intervention …. Yoga for the eyes …. Trataka …. Is typical used to improve eyesight and focus

    I did this again, as it is a nice practice and I did as you recommended, vizualise the water waves in the meridians, and that was great. I have started to read a bit on chakras, and the sacral shakra's element is water, does that have any connection with the water element in TCM?

    • @YogiMoksha
      @YogiMoksha  Год назад +1

      Hi Anna great to hear the water waves visualisation worked for you - we find it very useful and enjoyable - some might argue that TCM and the Indian yogic traditions are separate paths and therefore the elements that each path works with cannot be correlated …. personally I prefer to think of the water element in particular it terms of how water moves and feels and how this relates to your physical and subtle bodies and the movement of energy through them …. As you found with the waves visualisation the way the energy moves beautifully reflects how we might think water would move …. this is where I might see a connection …. in TCM with water we are working with the longest pair of meridians so we have much of our bodies to explore - in the yogic tradition we are again working with the urino genital system at a physical level but also the sense of sensuality that from its bases in svadhistana can reach any part of the physical and subtle body …. Just experience, apply what you are reading and see what connection exists for you
