    imagine the future where 3D printers are highly accessible and as consumer friendly as the printer where every household essentially needs them, where you have bottle companies designing bottles designed with the intention of being turned into a filament, and either home manned machines made to cut the bottles into filaments or a public resource that allows you to transfer the bottles to filaments for personal use.

    • @richard--s
      @richard--s Год назад +1

      He covered the bottle relatively evenly with color. The blank spaces without color are more or less evenly distributed over the bottle. So it did not matter where the cut goes or if the strip had just material between two pen-painted patterns. And it worked for his print.
      I think it's easier to paint it on or in the bottle in comparison to painting the strip which might have sharp edges all along the cut.

    • @richard--s

      Yes, this method has also been done to color a ready-made transparent filament. They tried it with one or two pens on the filament.
      I have not heard much about it afterwards. But on the cut-down bottle it makes even more sense, because you can hardly get it in other colors or it might not be your taste. So you can color it as you want it (on the bottle or with pens at the bottle cutter on the stripes...)
